@@coolguy8473 well, if you intent to stay in your own state and never really go on holidays, then sure. But its considered very basic knowledge all over the world. It's like you ask someone what 5*6 is and they cant figure out the answer.
Predated O I get your point but let’s not act like history is as important as math. History makes you wiser not to make similar mistakes, broadens your mind but absolutely needed? I don’t think so. I would be much more shocked if someone recalled the life of King Henry VIII but couldn’t do simple multiplications as opposed to vice versa.
@@bestdadakasongoku4157 Well, it kinda depends. Basic history is actually quite neccesary. Talking about Henry the 8th it like talking about exponentials. I was more talking about basic geography and basic history. Like what roughly happened in ww2, what important events made your own country the way it is now(like signing the declaration of independence for the USA, but for my own country, it was basically monopolizing sea trade, causing us to own pretty much every harbor around the entire earth, untill the british copied us and then took over half the world).
Would you be more shocked if someone doesnt know anything about ww2 than someone who doesnt know basic multiplications?
@@ultimateclammydog2577 No, netherlands. Portugal did end up having a massive share of sea trade, but the Dutch initially had a monopoly when it came to sea trading(including slave trading as well). Then more and more countries ended up wanting a piece of the sea trade, so the dutch decided to drop some trades as they otherwise would start losing money, and instead started creating very strategic harbours all around the world and charging ships to dock and unload.
If you consider it's size compared to its actions, The Netherlands is one of the most historically influential countries across the world. If you see any large harbour, odds are about 75% that either the dutch still own it, or that they own shares of it.

Lougetown is my favorite part of East Blue. Call me strange, IDK. Love the new introductions, love the returning characters, and there was a real weight hidden within the arc. The most important person in the One Piece world was born and died there. It's significance is to often overlooked.

When Tekking mentions almost every significant plot point in Loguetown past and present, but leaves out the best character.

Broockle Luffy has a natural immunity to lightning which Eneru didn’t know about yet. The intent to kill was still there it just ended up saving Luffy if this was the case.

It's possible that they travel around the entire globe without ever realizing it and that the strawhats were just incredibly lucky that the skyisland happened to be above Jaya so they could get to it with a knock up stream.
Imagine Skyisland actually traveling above Loguetown one day and Enel gets a Mantra Tickle "I'm the man who will become Pirate King!"
Enel: "Damare!" and sends some lightning down.
The sky over logue town was also incredibly dark. Maybe that was the island itself xD

I think why Oda chose Florence for Loguetown was because Florence is believed to be the place where Renaissance started.
I'm surprised that Smoker didn't immediately make the connection that Luffy and Dragon were related. Their wanted posters have their whole names on them.

Dragon’s probably doesn’t. When Garp tells Luffy about him, the marines in the area say “this is the first time I’ve heard his full name.”
Dragons bounty poster pretty much just said "Dragon". It probably got updated after Marineford but nobody knew anything about the dude until Garp and Sengoku revealed it.

I have been to the glove factory Mantelli in Florence, its pretty nice its more like a clothe store only with gloves, although they have quite exclusive gloves in a lot of different designs.

That scene when Smoker tells the story of how Roger was executed is still to this day one of my favorite scene. Partly because I watched the german dub for the first part of the show, and Smoker had the most badass voice you ever heard in an anime.
Also, i did actually pass by that Glove Factory, think i still have a photo of that lol

loguetown is really one of my personal favorite arcs. every episode or chapter i was enthralled by what was taking place. honestly, if oda let it go on for a little longer like the anime did. hands down would of been my favorite arc

The Bartender was some solid-ass filler right there. Logue Town also has an honor of housing one of my TOP 5 manga panels of the whole series, specifically the dramatic shot of Dragon stopping Smoker. Such a good mini-arc.

Y'know, in retrospect, it was a pretty good idea to station Smoker at Loguetown.
Power creep kinda bullies the guy, but as a Logia, Smokey shut down almost all pirates aspiring for the Grand Line in the East Blue. You gotta go to Loguetown for decent supplies, so all pirates hit a Logia wall at that point. Anyone that can get through will get tagged as a more legitimate threat.
If anything, the Marines should double down on that and station Kizaru right after Reverse Mountain to catch the riff-raff.
Whenever I back off onepiece I dont watch your videos. But once I start watching One Piece again. I can watch your Channel again And then I keep getting surprised on how many Subs you gained. Man, that's insane homecoming you at 40K all the way to 470 k man that just puts wife in perspective a long time goes by. You're killing it.
Would be cool if the Marines hid a secret Poneglyph or something at Loguetown that the SH Crew had to backtrack and capture after Wano since all the major characters seem to go through that town along their journey and it was a major place for Roger's execution. It could be the beginning of the Epi-"Logue" to the whole journey
The Sanji Filler in Loguetouwn is also one of my favourite One Piece Episode. The Cooking was really awesome.
I've been to Italy many times, mostly as a kid. But I've always wanted to go to Florence. My brother was there a few years back with his wife, but didn't like it too much. He said it had "too much renaissance".
You're right about the globe thing at the end, it's written in french under the english part and ''Ce globe'' means This globe. So yeah, they got the translation wrong
In sophomore year my school offered a National Geographic class which in all honesty taught me more about the different cultures of the world than any other history class in HS

When I was in high school, World History, Geography, American History, and Economics, were under the Social Studies banner, but they were their own individual classes.
Honestly, after seeing Moria from years ago - the motivated Moria that didn't back down from Kaido, King of the Beasts - I again found myself wishing that Moria's cheek-clapping from pre-timeskip Luffy was a wake-up call to him, and for him to be back in shape and motivated again by the time the Straw Hats reconvened.
Instead, he's probably become Blackbeard's slave, if he isn't outright dead already. 🙁

Since you brought up the scene with the barrel before entering The Grand Line, something I've always found disappointing was that they didn't do the same thing before leaving Fishman Island for the New World.
Yeah Social Studies was a fun subject through out school. Thought it was fun learning about the various religions in the world and my favorite thing being how similar the Japanese and European social systems were before they could have ever even interacted with each other.
Oh and the Sengoku period :D

Tekking, I'm from Florence, and that is NOT actually a glove factory xD It's just a shop that sells handmade leather gloves. Idk why they called it "factory" on the sign, maybe they just meant to say they produce the gloves they sell. For anyone who wants to look that place up, just search for Madova gloves :)
I’m thinking Gekko Moria stress ate with all those hohos and Twinkies. Trauma will do that to you. Seeing everyone you cared about die and being the only survivor? That has to be rough. No wonder he’s so mad that Blackbeard’s crew killed Absolom. So I have a small bit of compassion for Moria since I understand his trauma.
One thing i never thought about till, but once I saw the title of the video I realized at the end of one piece we will probably get to see nami's finished map of the world and will actually get to see the literal geography of the world :D

"Rogue"town also reminded me of Rogueport from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, which I find similar to One Piece.

every time i think of Ippon Matsu, i always wonder how he obtained sandai kitetsu and if he has connections to wano. what if he has more wazamono swords, did he meet any other worthwhile swordsmen before or even after meeting Zoro and if we’ll ever see them or hear mention of them
I wonder if the Samurai from the East Blue enclave pawned off some of their swords to get through tough times.

My aunt and uncle lived in Bologna Italy for a few years. They had their baby In Italy so me and my family flew there from the us. We had a celebration and we stayed there for a few days in a hotel. Each day we would take a family day trip to cool places in italy so one day we decided to go to florence which was a few hour drive from where we were staying. When we were in florence the glove factory caught my sisters eye so we decided to go check it out. Now this was years ago so i dont really remember much but i dont think there was anything significant there in the glove store.

I went to Florence last summer and I bought gloves there.
Florence is actually famous for leather products. There are many shops selling gloves, belts and such in town, no wonder one of them casually ended up in One Piece. It was probably in some picture Oda used as inspiration.

Moria with his Gecko pirate crew was pretty cool to be able to advance through the paradise and arrive at Wano, clash against Kaido and settling in Florian Triangle as Shicibukai all in just under 5 years.

you would think they would have learned their lesson but they broadcasted Ace's execution and then White Beard comes out with "One Piece!-Wa! DOES EXIST!" basically reigniting any flames that may have gone out since Rodger started the Great Pirate Era

Dragon's prologue as well! He was present at Roger's execution and then went on to create his Revolutionary Army, and therefore, setting in motion the events to lead up to Luffy being born, being raised by Garp because he is away with the army, and Luffy eventually meeting Shanks. So it really was the prologue town even for Luffy's entire life

So, this isn’t the Florence glove factory, but when I was in England last year, we went to the Pittard’s Leather Mill and they sold all kinds of fine leather goods, including gloves.
I actually have been to Florence. I don't remember the glove factory though.
Then again, I was five... which is farther back than I want to think about.
It's just a shop, one of many, and not even that well known outside of Florence. How would you remember it? I'm from Florence and I only noticed that shop because of this One Piece fun fact. Oda was probably looking at pictures of Florence for inspiration back then and the shop sign ended up being included too.

History and Geography are basically time and space. Together they are everything.
So at that time in the story everybody thinks dragon has the power to control the weather but what happens when you see two people with conquerors haki Clash you see lightning and there is wind and shock waves being emitted from them so what if dragon is so strong with his hockey that he can cause when in shock waves as well as Lightning without having to clash with somebody with equal strength
Roger did the samething as Dragon when he faced Shiki.
Until it is confirmed otherwise, I believe that is was luck/fate that made lightning strike the execution stand and Dragon only saved Luffy once when he stopped Smoker. Plus I’d like a mirror ball island video and I love the Ready! Song in that Django short.
