I think the Astros are cheating again. Every other ball club that got the 5 days of is struggling. Braves are out, Dodgers against the wall and Yankees tied as well. Astros are the only ones who are doing well and somehow now that they are playing in Seattle they are scoreless bottom of the 14th.

I literally love Air Yordan Alvarez.
Dusty clearly saying “we got you” to Framber as he takes the ball, shows just why he’s so loved as a manager and why this team is so scary, nothing fazes them.
If Frazier and Julio have better communication on that fly ball (which Adam should have backed off of, since Julio had the better approach and vantage point to catch the pop-up) then maybe the M’s pull this game out. That was an absolute must make play. You cannot give this Houston team anything because they’re gonna pounce on you. You could tell Castillo was pissed that the play was botched.
Man, Yor-effing-dan, what else can you say? Absolutely clutch 2 games in a row. Can you believe he’s only making $750k this year… dude is the second best hitter in the league behind Judge and making $18.25M less.
Seattle, I Don’t feel like it’s gonna be another 21 years but this is who you’re gonna have to beat to advance next year so might as well soak it all in these next two games and learn as a team from this experience.
What's even better is that the organization locked up Alvarez for years to come when they signed him to an extension.

Like I've been saying all season "HOU IS A PROBLEM FOR ANY TEAM". Back to back clutch plays from Alverez. This guy has had an unbelievable season and it's continuing into the playoffs. This is the stuff that makes a player and a team great. Kudos on the win and now HOU is 1 game away from the ALCS 💪.

I think walking Alvarez was the right decision, even with hindsight. Bregman hit an RBI single. Alvarez would've hit another 2-run homerun.

What's crazy is how well this Mariners season has been. Hats off to the Astros and Yordan being a beast. But like the Mariners have done so well with only having like 3 or 4 hitters that can actually hit. They have a pretty mid offense but are still keeping these games tight. Gonna love them in the future!

The little engine that could story line with Mariners somehow getting past a much more talent superior Toronto came to a crashing end. They were getting pummelled in game 2 in Toronto and pulled a miracle after Castillo pitched the game of his life. Castillo was amazing again tonight except some bloops and that ball out of the zone away by a foot that was still hit hard.
He wouldn’t even of had a h chance if it wasn’t for bregman Peña tucker and gurriell..not just him carrying if it was just him they’d just intentionally walk him
I'm a Jays fan, but being west coast I like the M's too. Be real. The Jays have the superior hitting line up for sure but the starters are basically about even and Seattle has a much better bullpen than the Jays. No way they are "superior". They're actually quite evenly matched.
This is disappointing to watch though. M's should have had that first game. Tip of the hat to the astros though. It's impressive.
@@doublestrokeroll Toronto has a MASSIVE positional player talent than than Seattle no matter how you look at it. I’m he playoffs POWER and hitting talent is huge. Lourdes Gurriel Jr., a very good hitter wasn’t there, nor was Springer really after getting hit in the hand in late game 1. He was the only guy actually hitting Castillo in that game despite not allowing any runs ina spectacular evening. Castillo was still great tonight. That HR that was hit off him was so off the plate away
Toronto was a massively underachieving team in the first half before they fired their manager. They were better after the firing. 92 wins for them wasn’t impressive even in the AL East compared to 90 for Mariners in a weaker division.
Jays choked and laid a huge egg in those 2 games. Manoah had his worst 1st inning outing of his career in game 1 and in game 2, Jays have not lost a single game all season when leading after 7 inning. Blowed a 8-1 lead lol

@@doublestrokeroll I just meant there is considerable talent “gap” between Jays and Mariners. The Ms pen being better than Toronto doesn’t come close to creating an overall talent parity like you made it out to be. Romano is probably the best young reliever on either team also. That is all I was getting to at. Also, Toronto had a number of players with down years starting with Vlad Jr., Hernandez, Bichette was down right bad and didn’t even get considered for all star game in the first half if you can believe it. Berrios at only 28 was a dog (in a bad way) all year well below his career averages after getting the bag and paid like an ace or a top 2 starter. No one on that roster wowd except Manoah. Guasman pitched like he was suppose to and is elite like he was with the Giants still. If Berrios was like his old self and Ryu wasn’t hurt, Jays starting pitching would be better and deeper than Seattle’s also. Jays need to address that pen though and get more power arms which is easier to do than get starters or elite positional talent. Wasted $$ that should have gone to an elite setup man on former Mariner Kikuchi who was a disaster even out of the pen.

As soon as they walked Alvarez my first thought was "Wow, now that's two crazy calls from their manager". I don't think your odds were any better with Bregman, especially considering Bregman's typical attitude/response to something like that. I'm also not an MLB manager either lol

Yeah, but there's still a couple of things to consider 1) There's a reason why Alvarez is known as the Astros most clutch, dangerous hitter? he's more consistent! 2) Alvarez had made an error earlier in the game (in the outfield) an likely felt he needed to atone for that. To me this meant that he wanted to be in the situation to redeem himself!

Altuve might be broken momentarily but Yordan got the powers of the whole team combined...and it seems he forgot how to strike out as an additional bonus.
These have been 2 of the best and most clutch performances in the history of playoffs and maybe there are 2 or 3 records/stats broken here...

The Astro's are a well built team with no apparent weaknesses, and certainly a favorite into the fall classic. Should Seattle fall at home which is likely they should not hangs their heads , the goal was to make the playoffs and they did in exciting fashion , they gained experience as they are one of the youngest teams in Baseball. When they're season ends management has to fix the weaknesses of this team some guys might not be back next year my guess more trades will be made and perhaps one key free agent signing . It's not a money issue it's getting the personnel who will deliver . They have more pitchers in their system that are very close, lots to look forward to going forward Seattle could still pull it off but I am afraid Houston is to good to drop three straight with the final game if necessary at home, still no need to think they failed.
Bullpen and number 8 and 9 hitter are weaknesses

Don't sleep on Altuve's defense today. Those were just as important in my opinion. Kyle Tucker is doing his thing too. Alvarez is clearly the offensive leader so far though, and a crucial component to both wins for sure!
