I don't care what you guitar nerds think. This might not be the coolest guitar ever made, but it is extremely awesome in a lo-fi punk-rock way. Grow a pair ;)

The lo-fi sound of this thing would actually sound great miked up and recorded. All gonna come down to build quality for me. Wonder how solid it feels.
Someone should demand that Bose make a guitar. Imagine something like this with truly ass-kickin speakers.

I see the value of an analog synth with midi, but one w/o it is actually a truer replication of 'retro flavor'.
For 299 that's not so bad. As he said, it's something you just mess around on. It's not intended for live use.

Need a model with a bridge humbucker and put some more research and DD into a better on board speaker -amp. I'd buy one fo sho!

Yes
There's an actual demand for the phantom style body guitars. Why can't they make a serious guitar? It kind of goes hand in hand with alot of the half-assed efforts Korg has been making lately trying to bait people with "retro" flavor but not going all the way: see "analog" synths with NO MIDI OUT.
I do the exact same thing with my NORMAL guitar, my AMPlug (Vox) headphones and my Ipod.
Hmm...probably going to pass. Someone somewhere will probably like this thing. Curious as to why they only put in a neck pickup? You'd think a bridge would be essential.

reminds me of this hideously ugly but very cool teisco/silvertone I had when I was a teen,,,bought in a pawnshop,,, was monkeyshit sparkle brown with a big aluminum pickguard and a speaker in the body and the volume and tone knobs in completely the wrong place but it waa lot of fun to play and I wish i still had it,,the built in amp sounded pretty nasty but cool,, so I think these guitars would be alot of fun

This isn't bad as an exercise machine. Used in lieu of a metronome. I can't see paying more than 100 dollars for something like this though. As it looks like something you find in best buy or toys-r-us

Vox needs to properly reissue the Phantom and Teardrop guitars. Not spit on their image with these.
