play the one chord Ian Curtis was able to play now. (he held on to that G chord and refused to let go through the entire song.)
For anyone wondering, he activated Treble, Top Boost, and Mid Boost. I think he used the neck or middle pickup and the mid-boost was on the 1st position (the position closer to the bridge).

The fuzz is really distinctive and likable. I dig that fuzz. This is a great guitar in spite of the active pickups.

Maybe that's why The Mummies (not "Here Come the Mummies," that's a different band) occasionally played one; particularly because of the fuzz effect, which fit their sound perfectly. I can hear "That's Mighty Childish" in this guitar just fine.
      Here's "That's Mighty Childish:"

Jones used a Phantom but the teardrop is the Vox guitar he is most famous for using. Curtis only used the Phantom (the only guitar he was ever photo'ed using) so he is much more famous than Jones for using a Phantom. Very few people know Jones used a Phantom and there are very few photos of him playing one..

This would have been cutting edge in it's day, I recall early AC30s didn't have top boost, this did, so would have been great. The "repeat" is good too, even the fuzz tone has it's own flavour. Deffo a guitar where the player needs to understand the instrument.

    • @bojackhorseman5367

Real hip !;! A friend in another band had a mid 60;;s vox white teardrop body bass with an original factory installed fuzz control. It wasn't real practical but cool. I also remember the guitar head with the tuning keys was huge. I was brought up in the Detroit downriver area. This is the only bass I ever saw like this. Good stuff ! On this channel.

F a n g the bass player of Paul Revere and the Raiders played a bass version of The Phantom with a fender neck. He must have gummed it up or screwed it up somehow because he doesn't perform with it anymore. The Phantom is the coolest looking guitar out there. Long Live Paul Revere and the Raiders 1960 / 2014, 54 years of rocking insanity! Howdy from Dallas Texas

The repeat is exactly like a tremolo with the dry sound off. It has a great sound palette but along with the lack of a dry signal, I would have thought they would have had an on/off for each pick-up. That would provide much more tonal variation so easily.
