Cash pay without insurance is not accepted by PBM as a “prior therapy”, which is needed to get to latest brand name drugs. The cash outflow also doesn’t count towards deductibles. Just the last two barriers imo before this takes off

I don’t want the latest brand name drugs. I have a friend who is an MD and has told me that whenever I have a choice between a new drug and an older drug, ask for the older drug. Remember Vioxx? With a new drug that haven’t been taken by millions of people for years you are at risk of some serious side effects that didn’t show up in the drug trials. Older is often safer.

He just explained how the incentives in politics limits what he can do. He's doing it in the private sector and much quicker.
We need the drug companies to be held accountable and the Doctors that FEED off of them!! My past is in the medical field and I can give you dates and Doctors who steal our money so they can not care about the cost of meds for others.

canada has free healthcare. in usa if you get sick it will cost your arm and leg to pay if you dont have insurance.

Canada's healthcare is free, which does not include cost of prescriptions. In Canada, Canadians are expected to pay for their own prescription drugs.
