  • The Carcass Crew jumps back on their 1972 Camaro and are metal working the damaged core support. They show you the right techniques to bend and manipulate metal brackets to save you money. They'll also show you how they are going to install the carbon fiber fenders. Then, they show you how to create a custom steering column for your race car that won’t break the bank. Plus, they fabricate a custom dash to accept their new digital gauge cluster and show you an easy way to wire your project.

    This is probably my favorite build , I've owned four Camaro's myself . And I was born in 1972 , so one of my favorite cars from the year I was born 👍

    The fun I could have with that monster. That's a straight night runner, built for I40 between Little Rock and Memphis.

    @30:30 you could also put a thin 1/8 strip of foam tape around all profile and then roll stamp ink or metal dye into. Align piece over where you want and press down. Viola!!!!

    I'm doing a 68 mustang track car. I started with a 2008 ASA NASCAR chassis. I have to replace the front cross member so square it up. Going for a late 70"s IMSA vibe. Thinking about using the #20 Dekon Monza style flairs but am not going to be using 16" wide tires so that might not work.
    Tires need to be sticking out of the fenders 8 to 10" For it to look right. Next style to consider is the 1975 BMW IMSA 3.0 CSL cars fender style.
    Might mock up the BMW style on one side and the Dekon monza on the other side to see what looks best.
    I'll be mounting the body soon so I'll see how it will go. Got a vintage boss 302 from a A sedan race car I bought 35 yrs ago. I cut up the body and saved all the parts. Body was 2 cars welded together vary badly so not salvageable. Lots of work, lots of fun.

    PCM/PDM offerings are currently in their infancy for the enthusiast. When they are combined with plug-and-play harnesses for specific applications, sales will take off. That and the reduction in price from economics of scale.

    Isn't adding that aluminum tube to the outside of the collapsible steering shaft defeating the purpose of being collapsible??? Won't this now impale the driver with the outer tube in a crash?

    That back firewall ruined the look of the car. The original design looked so much better than that wall built into the roll cage. Just my opinion but it ruined the car.

    You spend way to much time crapping on a rare classic car to be able to justify chopping it up.

  • @zippythechicken
    @zippythechicken Před 3 měsíci +2

    I think it would have been faster, easier and better to not have destroyed that clean 72 and just built a tubular frame and hung some aftermarket body parts and custom sheet metal on it... you're ending up with a frankenstein car that you've chopped up so bad.. i mean what are you saving from the old car? part of the subframe, some brackets, parts of the quarters that you shouldn't be saving.. and you destroyed that old car... thats sickening
