- Here's a close look at a new set of accessories for the Roland JUPITER synthesizers, the JUPITER-X and Xm Overlays from Synth Overlays. Phil Roberts of Synth Overlays (synthoverlays.com) asked if I'd like to do a video, and I was happy to jump on the opportunity.

This video is a review of the Synth Overlays JUPITER-X bundle, provided to me by Synth Overlays for early feedback and review purposes. - Hudba
Having the sounds of these emulations sound great could only be enhanced by the looks and these enhance the experiance greatly from what I can see. Sweet! Nice review/Info video Robert.
The overlays are awesome. Pricing is a bit too spicy, even for myself. I was hoping that the sets of 5 would have a more solid discount.
i just bought a second system 8 so im thinking of buying the overlays. im glad to see there is at least this one review for these products. i would have been nervous to order without seeing the material beforehand.
woaaa, 466$ cad for 5 overlays... damn... is there gold in it or what?
So happy to see new videos from you :)
I genuinely had no idea how long it’s been! I post so many videos for Cherry Audio these days that it seems like I’m oversaturated 😂
lol loved the idea until I saw $300 and closed the video
I would buy these for $60 for the set. The current prices are too high for the me.
Looks like you won’t own even one. Sad day 😢
Based on my own attempts at this, I don’t think $60 would cover the material costs of two. Luxury items, yes. Expensive? In today’s economy, sure. But considering the small runs, heavy stock, and finish, the price is more than reasonable. On a per square inch basis, they’re the best deal I’ve seen for overlays like this when compared to what else is out there (see video). But I totally understand, they’re not for everyone.
If nothing else, this 106 panel has quenched any thirst I might have had for a $2100 JUNO-X! 😄
@@RobertSaintJohn For sure. I never implied that they are not fairly priced.
Thanks for the review. The overlays look great.
Excellent - and extremely helpful
Sorry, but this is outrageous pricing
Pricing is completely out of proportion IMO, so no thanks...
Id be interested in a Jupiter-8 overlay for the Fantom-6!
I got mine . They are nicely made . But more expensive than I think they are worth . And the packing tape leaves major residue that’s difficult to remove which then transfers to your synth panel. They should use gaffer tape for packing . The tape used is no good for the purpose it is intended .
I passed your message onto Phil. You should probably get in touch if you haven’t already, but I’m sure he’ll want to help you out if needed and find a better long term solution. I know he has already improved the packing from when I first received mine. Thanks for bringing it up!
@@RobertSaintJohn Oh wonderful. If we can sort out these issues, Id like to get 3 more. Do you make magnetic ones too?

Hi Neon Nights, thanks for the comments!
I will now be wrapping the overlays in bubble wrap before taping to inside protective circle that is around them !!!
Also I have looked at the tape residue issue and it should come off easily with some lighter fluid !
Cheers
Phil
Synth Overlays
Wow nice 👍 🎉
Awesome information. Thanks for your awesome video 📹. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.
useful thanks..😀
Very nice quality - the price doesn't seem unreasonable for the market/run sizes. If people can't justify the spend they are no worse off than before except the option exists now should their circumstances change.
Really nice, but unfortunately far too expensive.
Quick question… how good is the quality of this overlays? They are clearly broken around the split/dual switches. Did you received them like this? Or they got broken after? I’ll love to order them but after seeing them damage I’m not sure if they will last. 🤔
I never noticed that before. Looking at the site, they don't seem to be a part of the current design. I received these (pre-release) before the design was finalized. The gap was there, but I don't believe they are part of the release version. Drop a note directly to Synth Overlays to get clarification. Nothing has broken, bent, chipped, torn, etc. since I received them in August. They're very thick and the lamination will stand up to lots of handling.
@@RobertSaintJohn Thanks for clarifying… I’ll check with them…
Whoa you’re still making these?!
Annually 😄
interesting idea, very expensive though
Pricing is a bit ridiculous! I hope you're not expecting to sell many.
Sorry, but this is outrageous pricing
