The bike features a new engine, new body work, new frame, new sub-frame, new suspension settings, new map switch, new tuning app, new brakes, and much more. Mark Tilley and the Dirt Bike Magazine crew give you all the details in this video on what its like to ride on day 1 of testing.

Thank you for not putting music on the riding part. Really appreciated.
Mostly an all new bike but we're most excited about the soft grips 😂
Every single test outlet is saying it’s slower than what they expected. Usually that means it will handle good. It looks good
I'm so glad it's mellowed out. My yamaha 450 is a rocket and hard to control. I'm getting this kawi
You were rippin, Thanks for not using any music
Let’s go baby!🎉🎉
Bikes are now so good its taking grips awhile to catch up. Its about time.
We like the 20$ grips.... Informative!
you had me at Brembo🤙😎🤙
Good for cars I think, not so much dirt bikes
This engine sounds incredible just a long pull of power 👌
It SLOW 🐌
And 5 lbs heavier 🤦♂️
Hey, anybody knows more about the new rear hub. Does that mean the 19-23 Wheel Fitz Not in 24 anymore?
We are excited about the soft grips😅 now that's a update I couldn't live without. That should have been scripted a bit better. Heard the forks are not the same either turkey. Stick to riding you were good at that! Looks much more composed in the rough to me with the new chassis !
What rough? Looks like a very smooth track😊
He sound more stoked on the grips lol
@DirtRider Excellent content! You gave us instant rider feedback of the things that stood out the most to you while riding it. Overall, great video and superb riding!
I am on the fence on buying this or the 24YZ450F, which one would you go for and why?
Definitely the kx, not because I have one but because I’m hearing a lot of the 23 yz450s and 24yz250s aren’t making it past 50 hours
@@aydenrich262 Well, as much as I would like to defer, (all time YZ fan here), you are absolutely correct. Have seen several videos in YT with known privateer riders having this issue in their new Yamahas.
kawi all the way
@@lylesommers1249 so, I have the ability to Purchase a 23 KX SR or a 24YZ450F for $11,000 OTD. I’m torn between both.
i have a 22 450, i’ve been pro kawi since i was old enough to throw a leg over one and i can honestly say i’ve never had any serious issues. i love kawi, but to each his own.
Tilley was rippinnnnnnn
He sure was!! Kawasaki, always fast but has long term reliability improved?
@@craigdavies8099recently they have
Almost $11,000 , heavy, slow, but they like the grips, that's hilarious 😂
Dude you know you want one
Sad troll has put this comment on every 24 kx450 video, get a life kid 😂
Green moscheen!
Italian Brakes🤑
Geez. Still big, bulky, and even worse, heavier! Same humongous swingarm, and fugly front fender and number plate. Frame spars still look massive. If l did get a Kawie, it’d be a ‘22 SR.
Good luck getting one, they only sold one per dealer, there’s only about 4 here in Idaho and my uncle has one
I like how Mxa do their first rides. More than 1 test rider opinion and more in-depth explanations , brembo brake is more important than new grips .
Sorry you are upset. We gave a review without making the video a documentary & made it simple. Some people don't want all that. We go for a more direct approach. Glad you enjoyed the MXA video! We have at least 3 test riders on every test.
The forks r not the same. All new internals for an 80% less sticktion that’s why no dlc coating.
Yeah but it's a cost saving exercise too
@@kingcrumpet updating the internals cost more than the coating. So not really.
@@jonphotos8631fair enough
Ya but the black DLC coating was cool
@@stevesmith756 while u wer looking at it on the stand cause it was broken.
The AC9 machine
When I spend $11k I want good $20 grips... :D
Buy a leftover 2023 kx450f and save $1700 or this 2024 and no savings , which ? Tough call
Well, since I have a 2019 which is basically a ‘23, I’d take the ‘24
Forks arent the same....
What’s the difference?
@@aydenrich262 Go look at the other reviews, ive watched too many vids to remember the exact one but theres a bunch new internals that reduced friction which is why they decided to take away the black DLC coating on the lowers.
Looks like she rips but typical horrible looking aluminum welds…strong, Im sure. But the newbie Im teaching tig is better hung over. Looks like poorly programmed motoman welds.

Dude shouting underestimates the microphone. Watch your videos and then listen to them.
KX Is doo doo
Sorry You are upset
Wonder how Slow @elite is to make a Comment like That🤑🤦♂️
@@bobbyblenio4571 well, he does have a quad in his picture...
Go clean your room
Who pissed in your cereal?
Love Kawi bikes but I wish they would add a speedo, head light and brake lights. My KLX250 is nice but a KLX 450 would be sick.
They do a KLX450
What? When? I thought it was a KX450X not street legsl
Not in the states I guess.@@andrewford80
Kawi makes the best looking bike imo.
This new one is terrible looking . Old one was much much better looking .
i guess its just cuz i’ve always been pro kawi, it’s all i’ve ever ridden
Yikes 😬. Recall. Frame cracks from vibration. They give you epoxy to fix it. Really 🤔..
$11,000...
