Without doubt the clearest and most informative breakdown of a jibe. He's a natural teacher / communicator.

Always trying to improve my jibing I cant get enough of tutorials, this one for sure is in the top 3 if not number 1. Thanks a lot. What I would appreciate is a tutorial for overpowered conditions, that's when my jibes get messy.

Is this meant for upwind to downwind? Or downwind to upwind or can it be used literally anywhere to make a 180 turn?

I never could carve a jibe... until someone told me to press down on the boom to drive the nose thru the carve. That was it. That didn't work for a laydown jibe tho.

The only video of explaining when the rig will go light, other tutorials just mentioned when going fast, the rig will become light. Your video explained the feeling of going light., the transition from heavy to light....This is important as I can adjust my body to correctly adjust the pulling force of the sail..
My mistake is when I step the back foot on the leeward rail, my body is not leaning back anymore (although I am staying low with my knee bent). As a result, the sail pulls me to the water when my back hand sheets in and front hand push at the same time

Jesus that's a lot to think about, too much. My advice is to keep it simple and improve things incrementally. Firstly try and keep weight forward through the turn, easiest way is to press down on the boom through the turn, this will increase speed, hopefully remaining on the plane and things will start to feel right. Worked for me many years ago
