Anyone who is planning to buy ANY boat and doesn't watch15 or 20 of Nick's videos in the desired price range is missing great information. You can see what makes sense and what to look for. Tremendous.
Agree totally. I’ve learned so much from his videos!
It's all super yachts and million pound plus boats now, unfortunately. Was much better when he did boats normal people could afford.
his voice is super soothing; I could listen to him talk about nothing for hours
Same here
I think he should do a 10 minute video on paint drying just to prove the point :-)
I have lol :)
If Nick ever needed a new career he could always be a shrink. His voice has a very calming effect.
Me too xx
really like that it has a dining area and saloon sofa separately, sometimes think the sofas look great but you're stuck in the evening sitting at a permanent table.
I the the laundry room was great
The kids can watch TV from the saloon that would be on the side unit, the parents at the dining table planning the next day etc.
Squareline Fairdrons are amazing! 🤣🤣
i could totally see Nick in this as the next Smuggler's Blues
Smugglers Blues III Sounds good.
Judging by the intro, you mean Blugger's Smues.
Jokes aside, that's a really fantastic and utilitarian layout. Shame that boats aren't made like that any more. Thanks for the tour, Nick!
I agree Kelvin Ang.
Without the galley aft layout, you can't offert the full beam master cabin. That's a huge selling point for boats like a Manhattan 55 I imagine. Gives a real super yacht feel with a massive owners cabin.
It's a 55 foot boat that feels like a 70 foot boat.
They make them can't make everything the same.
Agree. So much nicer than some of the new ones….
Love this yacht! Proves you don't need more than £200k for everything you'll ever need to boat in style. I just need an extra £199, 867 to afford it. 😉👍
And you need the 50k for maintenance every year. I would say its worth around 20k just to get it out of the owners life. Sorry that the reality of these things.
@@34ofaninchofbrain80 what the fuck you do to it for 50k every year!!! Cmon bro...
docking 12-18k per year (its a 55 foot) depending where you want to keep it. Maintenence with defouling, lifting out of the water, engines etc.. 15-20 k (assuming nothing major happens) fuel 10-20k depending where you want to go. Insurance 5k. So you may get away with 30k if your lucky but defo 50k if you really want to use, enjoy and look after it! That's what he's saying.
Money on the way.........
Here’s a nugget from me 😆
Fellow geek here with the locking mechanism and railing on that door! I love little mechanical touches like that!
That switch panel alone is telling as to the quality of workmanship and materials on this boat. Curved glass is crazy expensive and they didn’t have to do that, but there it is. Thanks Nick
Also, don’t be afraid to show more like this (needing work). We can all appreciate what you’re showing us.
You did another fairline with that little room in the galley! A great feature thanks Nick!!🛥⚓
“Just look at that table there” says Nick as he caresses the wood! Love your passion Nick. Always amazing vids
Just love the quality of the Fairline workmanship of the 2000's era boats. Good quality boats that are amazing to drive, and easy to handle.
You can see that the boat need some work and love to shine.
But..... the layout of this boat is 1 of the best I have seen at this size boat.
The kitchen is perfect. Separated with it's own washing/pantry which is just perfect. Everything about this boats layout is just perfect.
We need to see more out-takes Nick lol
Very pretty little boat. Very pretty.
Edited to add: wow! Loved the laundry space!
I like the rounded sofas of this era better than the more modern angular ones. The rounded ones seem more inviting to really sit and stretch out on and make yourself comfy.
You could almost say “Classic Fairline” with all the curved high gloss cherrywood. The sunken galley and utility room with the draw out ironing board are very 1990s - who would want to do ironing on a boat holiday today?!
Definitely looking forward to seeing the square Line Quadrant at some stage in the future 😂
That's a lot of boat for the money Nick.. I love the layout .. so different to what where use to seeing.. Brilliant tour..
Fairline really did knock it out of the park back in the day. Just a beautiful, practical, well made boat.
FYI Nick’s happy wave at 5:47. This boat has got everything including a cool secret hidey hole with washer and freezer!
Wow. This is the first 2000’s boat you’ve showed where I could see myself onboard. What an incredible ship, with one of the best layouts I’ve ever seen. That indoor staircase to the fly bridge is amazing. I can’t believe that’s not still a common feature
55 feet is a great size for longer trips with friends or family. This is a gorgeous boat!
Nick comes across as a friend who researched a boat for you and is just showing it to you. Just his friend. I have also noticed how you point things out in a manner that doesn't treat people as stupid. More like "in case you didn't know. That is why Aquaholics is my go to boat review channel.
Appreciating that fly ridge hatch and its mechanism for being held open and the handle aligning with the handrail is NOT geeky. It’s an appreciation for detail that the designers work hard to live up to and it makes everyone’s boat better as a result. It’s the same with cars, planes, houses, phones and just about everything else. If people like us stop noticing and appreciating those details and innovation, they’ll quickly be value-engineered out of the design and we’ll all be driving identical beige cars and sailing identical beige boats. Keep it up.
This is the era where they built them like works of art. That is a diamond in the rough. Little TLC and she would shine up.
I knew, as soon as I saw the saloon, that I would love this one. That utility room is brilliant!!!!
I really like this Boat and have probably watched this video a dozen times. Only now did I realize that the galley had a dishwasher. This is why I re-watch certain videos, you never know what you missed previously.
I'm a Big Fan, Love the Channel ‼️🙂
I can understand why you like this yacht. Looks like a lot of yacht for the money. Thanks, Nick!
Lovely boat. A bit of work needed on that peeling / bubbling "wallpaper" and mount a modern MFD but I love the layout. Comfy. Homely. Love the dual-access to the fly. The utility room. The accessible gallery that isn't part of the eyeline.
There sure is a lot of storage for a 55ft boat. I love the utility room, very practical - you can never have enough storage on a boat. Brilliant.
Perfect! After that amazing utility room I just crossed fingers to see 3 cabins... and you even have that crew cabin. That's the kind of "home" I am looking for. Brilliant boat and presentation as usual!
Lovely example of a Squareline Fruadron. Very nice.
A perfect live abourd set out configuration even in these new era cruiser boat styles. Quality over quantity wins out every time
Lovely yacht Nick. Hard to believe it is 17 years old. The utility room was a surprise 😀. Nice cabin space. Thanks for the tour !
Thanks for watching
@@AQUAHOLIC Nick can i call you or email you.. thanks
Love the whole Squadron range they are always finished to perfection.
Lovely half in half out galley, beautiful woodwork. Thanks for the tour Nick! 👍😎
My pleasure!
A couple more of these relatively affordable yachts and I might convince my wife to buy one and live on it. Great work, Nick.
Good luck!
Just remember one thing when living aboard instead of in a house! you'll have to sacrifice possessions on most crafts below the 80ft mark!
The challenge is to get a residential mooring... not that easy and very expensive.
Lol.maybe. might .wish. lol Goodluck with her
I usually think of boats in this category as mere cocktail cruisers, but this is a very practical boat.
Bit of retrimming required but apart from that, pretty much spot on. Great value, lovely, usable boat. Someone is going to have a fantastic summer with this one.
Really like the midship galley. With a bit of cosmetic work that would be a lovely boat. Thanks for the tour as always.
Glad you enjoyed it
My wife and I were tire kicking boats around the time this was built...Used Catalinas, Sea Rays...I wanted a Carver with a 35 foot aft cabin layout. I used to look at the new Fairlines, Rinkers and other new boats with the flowing lines and rounded details and say to myself "One day, I'll be looking at one of those for a price I can afford and it will still be BEAUTIFUL! That's a boat that will never go out of style!" Amazing isn't it...what a difference time makes when it comes to tastes in anything. Not that I would walk past this for that price but it sure doesn't awe me like it did back in the day!
I love your attention to the details like the tea towel rail on your way to look at the engine room haha!
This is just a lovely boat. The utility room is just brilliant. I think this one has more style than many of the newer boats.
Wow wow wow wow wow! LOVE THIS BOAT! 😍 Gorgeous layout, features & look at that glossy wood! If my wife wasn’t so much of a landlubber I’d sell the house & live aboard now! I reckon an extra £25-30K spent to modernise the helm, replace carpets, deep clean plus a few modern touches & you would have yourself a mini super yacht! I love it! 🥰 OK, it’s our wedding anniversary tomorrow, I’ll spring it on her then & let you know! 😂👋🏻
Best of luck..! 😃
I think it’s a very nice layout, I far prefer the galley down compared to the latest fad of galley aft. First time I’ve seen the internal stairs up to the fly bridge but as you say makes perfect sense to allow access from the galley. Yes the boat is a bit dated but it looks quality materials throughout other than the wrinkled wall lining in every room. A few pounds spent on this and it would be some boat. I don’t like the engine access though, would be better if it was accessed from that lazerette area
Wow thanks for sharing this yacht Nick .... that utility room puts the yacht to another level ... i think you did a boat before with a similar layout with a utility room ... i think it's a design feature ship builders need to bring back ... thanks for sharing
This is a fantastic boat considering its age. I really like the galley layout as I’m not a fan of galley aft layouts. This boat has a lot to offer for the price. Excellent tour...as you’d say "as ever"
I'm with you Nick ! I love all the "quirky" details of the Fairline. You've shown us one of these before, what great piece of kit with the flybridge access inside, lowered galley, utility room & the saloon is just gorgeous I think. Beautiful boat. Z
Love that you leave the bloopers in. Today you made up a new boat! Good old Squareline XD Great work as ever, Nick.
Congratulations on almost 300k subscribers
Thank you 🙂
I really love the kitchen in what - mid-deck? - so practical. The internal steps up to the flybridge are a lovely touch as well, amazed we don't see those much any more given they don't take up a huge amount of space. Lovely boat, lovely tour. Thanks!
What a great boat and layout, but if I was in the market, something keeps pulling me back to the 2007 Hardy 50 you reviewed. Thanks Nick!
I'm most impressed with the utility room that includes a stand alone freezer. Very nice boat.
Oooh! Lovin the wood on that boat!
I’d spaff my pension fund on that!
Thanks for the tour Nick!👍😊
That utility area is worth the price of admission! That's a lot of boat for 200,000 pounds!!
I love the hobbit door for the utility area!!! Just awesome!!!
one final comment! also like that the overnight accommodation is separated from the engine space by the galley/utility room. Often see the master cabin backing straight onto the engine space and wonder if all the humming overnight from the engine space on your multi-million pound yacht would keep you awake.
It's extremely rare that you sleep aboard these when they are under way.
@@AQUAHOLIC I suspect they were talking about the generator for the air-con?
@@darthkek1953 yeah AC pumps, etc. even when you see tours of boats moored in a marina on shore power there's often a hum from the engine space
What a great layout! Some of the new boats are getting repetitive inside so this was refreshing. As you say a lot of boat for the money with room to update to make it truly yours. For its age the woodwork was in as new condition!
Very nice yacht, well priced and with a great layout we can not find now in the new ones.
always liked these old Fairlines. Such nice interiors and layouts
Love the layout… the curves. Much nicer than the long boxes of today’s layouts.
Now this is a boat I could actually live on.
Amazing use of space in this boat.....sleeps 6 comfortably, two heads, laundry room and still room for a crew ! Awesome.
Thanks as ever Nick - I love the 52, 55 and 58 from this era. So well thought out and practical. Big thumbs up!
You do come up with some interesting boats for us to look at, some of the layout ideas on this one are brilliant. Great tour as always.
One of the best yachts I ever seen, perfect price -quality ballance.
Boats with utility rooms make me so happy.
“Fairline are known for their wood…”
Well done. Joking aside, that’s a beauty.
Easy, Tiger! 😄
Beuatiful vessel with just the right amount of space to have a great time.
I love the practicality, the utility room and the mid boat access to the fly bridge
I like how they used space in this boat. Nice to have room to store equipment. The galley is a neat touch especially with a utility room.
Yet another great little boat that's like a Tardis inside. That utility room is bigger than what some of the larger yachts have. Still in good shape for its age and a lovely retro vibe. Great video as usual Nick. Cheers.
I'm a big fan of Fairline Squadrons. If I was in the market for a new boat right now, this would be my boat. I'd rather put $300k into a boat I liked than buy one for $500k that I didn't care for. Great video. Thanks.
wow 200k?? such a beautiful boat. love the curves and wood work quality.
Needs a wee bit spent on it TBH but it's still incredible value.
Hey Nick. Great tour. I don’t usually like the older boats but that was is so well designed. Lovely.
Another great tour, Nick! That utility room and engine room access through the galley is a handy design. Keep these coming...your channel beats Netflix any day!
Thanks! Will do!
That is a really interesting layout. Thanks for the tour!
You are welcome!
I really enjoy this kind of showing. If possible please do more of theses, Thank you.
With those features it somehow looks like a much bigger boat compared with other 55ers you showed us.
This is so simple and yet sooo nice. I wish newer boats would go (back) to this style.
That is a very smart, elegant and well thought out boat. Probably one of my favourite so far. Thank you Nick
As always, Nick does a great tour. Brightens my day actually. I have a thing for Squadrons of this design and the price is surprising. It must need a lot of work but what a joy to work on. Thank you, Nick, for making me dream about this boat.
Really like this. That utility room is fabulous, and the little 'kitchen corner'. I think the crew cabin should be turned into a locked cell for rogue family members, push them in and let them out when sailing is over 😁
That's a fantastic amount of boat for 200K!
Such a practical design, one could certainly live aboard permanently on this thing.
@7:26 The boat next to it is named YOLO, makes me wanna cry
I really like the sunken galley design. Azimut also did that in around that era. Thanks for the tour, it was noice to see that again.
Sitting at home with a knee injury, this is great escapism for me, especially as I haven't been repatriated with my boat in the Mediterranean since before covid. Super value vessel and looks in good order.
Wow, that sucks! Hope you get to it this year
The utility room was a nice surprise!
Of all the multi-million dollar yachts you have presented on your channel, this is definitely a top ten vessel for me. I know it is dated and of the era, but the layout and amenities for the time are very practical as well as accommodating. I would live aboard this boat in any harbor USA. A little elbow grease and $250,000 is a bargain.
Not a bad looking boat . I do like the seating arrangement it has and the laundry area with the ironing board.
New sub, just working my way through all your videos👍
Awesome, welcome aboard! 🙂
Maybe this is a tease for another Smuggler's? Very well presented, as always!
Hey, is anyone keeping count of “Nick’s S - III teases”? I think he’s leading us on.
Love that boat! The interior is stunning and very creative and efficient use of space. I always like the circular couches and dining areas. The extra utility room is a bonus as well. Helm area is slightly dated, could use some upgrades, and engine room needs a lot of lighting. Still, a great boat for liveaboard or weekend adventures.
Very nice Squadron Fairline.
Thank you Nick, great boat, could you do another tour when it's completed, what a lot of boat for the money, I hope they put tvs in it, you could spend every weekend in this one, home from home visiting all the nice English Riviera marinas and cities.
Really like the layout of this boat. Always like your little wave in the mirrors, lol...
Absolutely love this one....... such a lot of boat for the price, seems 2008/9 rather than 2004, amazing... thanks for sharing this. It has given us some additional ideas ! Love the galley and utility areas....in fact.... all of it... even a mini crew cabin !
Marvelous yacht, for the price this might be the nicest one I have seen. Cheers Nick!
It's a no brainer to buy one of these as ones first proper boat. Immense value for money. Love these classic boats tours that are actually affordable. Thanks Nick
Beware, I would imagine you won’t get any change out of £50K in “upgrade/get it to the way you want” planning.
It’s likely (and I speak from amusing experience) that the fire extinguishers may need replacement/recertification, the engines will need servicing (and they are biggies), the liferaft will need to be serviced. You can see that it also needs the bedding and mattresses upgraded/replaced.
As an option to buying a full price new one it seems a fantastic value for money opportunity. But beware boat ownership is never cheap and bigger boats needs far bigger outlay on maintenance and general upkeep.
@@PhilbyFavourites agree with all of that and that the purchase price is just the entry ticket but I'm always drawn to the 1990s /2000s boats for their layouts and design too.
@@PhilbyFavourites Well sure. Probably looking at 100,000 investment to put it in the water if you just pay someone to fix it all. A lot of cosmetics you can DIY. Those are HUGE engines and definitely for cruising local.
