    I just love Fairlines of this era, all those lovely curves. Great boat, brilliantly updated, great to see. Good luck to Setag!

    These guys are going to do extremely well. I can just tell from this video they dont cut corners and everything is done right, add that to the fact they have so many years experience and contacts within the main manufacturers. Superb.

    Nice! Every big yachting community needs a company like this. I know a “Setag” in Hong Kong would do extremely well!

    Not only adding longevity and value to an otherwise unwanted boat, but generating employment where none existed. WIN WIN WIN. That last "WIN" was for the very fortunate new owner - a new yacht at a bargain price (relatively speaking). Thank you for doing this AND for sharing. Good job all...

    Great job - Setag are very impressive.
    It's my old boat Hugo - hull 201. I bought her new in 2008 at Southampton boat show (she was exhibited there) then I sold her summer 2010. Great boat. I wasn't responsible for the orange - the third owner did that!
    Setag need to figure out a way to work away from Plymouth. Plenty of boats in the Med could be refitted, but the delivery to/from Plymouth makes it uneconomic.

    What an amazing transformation, that is one beautiful motor yacht, if I’m not mistaken the legend that is Jim Davidson has recently had his yacht made over by the same company. Very nice walk through. 🇬🇧😉👍🇬🇧

    Wow Hugo….that transformation is fantastic. Five weeks and £90k seems too good to be true!!! ( of course it is) . That boat looked a wreak before. I know it’s hard not to make it into an advert for Seatag but what a great job.

    What a lovely boat and what a great job Sea Tag have done. I love the big The Fairlane's of this era, early to mid 2000's they are my favourite. I prefer the central lower galley with the utility room to the modern rear galley set up that seems to be in vogue these days. Even if I could afford a newer boat, If I had the money this is what I would buy and have it totally SeaTaged to my own specifications.

    Impressive . You missed the secret cabinet on the left side of the galley leads to a hiddin storage. I've seen this one on Aqua. love that new style what you did.

    For those wondering as of 2024, a 2007-2009 Squadron 58 goes for around £370-400k in a weathered condition, £90k for a refit and recondition of everything will easily be recovered, it's fair to say this boat is easily worth around £500k depending on the engines.

    She's known as a sturdy seaworthy girl, but...I hear the creaks...you can't get her all set in five weeks. No way. Cosmetically, apparently ,it's a well done job, but....she's not really restored/refitted...she's nicely refreshed. Not knocking it. They were great boats. You have to love the interior layout..and they plowed thru it all pretty well;a good hull..well before sea-keepers. By all means, keep her going. She looks lovely.

  • @mrdiavel4807
    @mrdiavel4807 Před 3 lety +1

    Nice , but you need a good base yacht to start with , fairline had a really good quality build back in the day the 58 was being made . I would probably not like to try doing this on a cheaper build ergo some of the French or Italian main stream builders , the quality of engineering to start with is only so so , I think the costs rebuilding some of it would be prohibitive .

    Hmmmm… Not a unique refit in my opinion. Lot’s of companys can do this. I think the Brabus comparison was a bit generous ……

    • @hugoandreae3495
      @hugoandreae3495 Před 3 lety +1

      That’s their ambition but I agree that it takes more than one decent refit to justify that comparison

    So 2 sofas a bed, a polish, some fabric wall coverings a microwave and a rattle can on the fly bridge steering wheel and table £90 k plus !! and he know what to say when you asked the price of the original craft ! Think we all need to invest in this company, I can see the market for people who have no time to sort stuff, its a turn key solution but seems expensive to me.

    FROM BRAZIL.... the big challenge when buying an old motorboat is solving what to do with the engines , eletronics, gens, boilers, bateries and all eletrical and mechanical items. The boat needs to move, not only be beautiful inside.. teh costo of rebuilding eletric, mechanical and eletronics could be impossible....

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 Před 3 lety +1

      Yes if the boat is that old or of they have corroded. I'm assuming here the internals are fine.

    • @pookatim
      @pookatim Před 3 lety +1

      This service is for yachts that are in solid shape but need to be refreshed. There are other services to refit mechanical and electronic systems. However, in a lot of large vessels, care was always given to mechanical and electrical systems. The problem is with outdated cosmetics and appliances. That is where this service reigns.

    • @hugoandreae3495
      @hugoandreae3495 Před 3 lety +3

      Most of the mechanicals on this boat were in pretty good shape but SETAG did arrange for a comprehensive service and replacement of a few ancillaries that needed sorting but this was done outside of the £90k refit price

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 Před 3 lety +1

      @@hugoandreae3495 that makes perfect sense. Nobody is going to buy £400k of boat and invest £100k of internal upgrades without making sure the mechanics & fundamentals were up to scratch or at least solid enough to revitalise cost-effectively.

    • @justinlinnane8043
      @justinlinnane8043 Před 3 lety +1

      @Just think its a confused bland colour scheme now . half original/ half mismatched fabrics and colours . always best to do a complete remodel or return it to original .

    • @justinlinnane8043
      @justinlinnane8043 Před 3 lety

      @Just think ok to refresh most of the AV systems and tech . all that can be done sensitively to update whilst keeping the originality . Its also possible to use higher quality hides on the sofas and seating or even go with fabrics that honour the original colour Palette . It's the half way house approach of this job that doesn't work .
