"It's so beautiful."
David Lynch
"¡Es una cosa hermosa!" (It rhymes en español)
These great men don’t just speak with words, holy- thank goodness for people who spread these types of messages
I love hearing David Lynch talk. He is a fine human being.
I had the most awesome lucid dream where i was hanging out with David after watching this
Love & Light
hearing david lynch express the creative spirit brings me bliss!
I didn't know David Lynch was such a great man before watching this.
The clear explanations and analogies by David, Dr. Fred Travis and Dr. John Hagelin about TM, the creativity in filming process, the impact on brain coherence and the physics of the benefits of TM are easily grasped by any person.
I learned TM when I was a young student and it was an investment. I have benefitted over and over again in healing and consciousness and other arenas, and I have not regretted the investment.
The honest and genuine questions by the audience and replies with explanations by David is very insightful.
The three experts in creativity, physics and brain functioning who give humorous analogies, visual demonstrations and personal experience is heartfelt. The TM leadership is solid, and highly educated. Thank you for making this video available to the public. And understanding, from different angles, and working together to communicate to a variety of people about the benefits of TM and especially the benefits of TM group practice.
The word Guru means one who removes the darkness. I love the Self Realization Fellowship, started by Paramahansa Yogananda. Very powerful meditation!
My favorite artist ❤
" DAVID LYNCH" .......A NOTED FILM-MAKER And TM-(Transcendental Meditation) Practioner , .......CREATIVE INTELLIGENCE GLORIED Into Its FULL POSSIBILITIES.....
About meditation is you don't have to believe. Doing it is experiencing it and experiencing it is the point. The success and benefits are apparent and evolve
quickly.
All you can do is meditate twice a day for at least a week or more,
for 10-15 minutes and find out for yourself!
I have a tremendously deep sense of gratitude. I am overwhelmed beautifully. My fire of desire for Unity is intense. Thank-you from the very Best of Me!!!
TM is based on Tibetan Buddhist & Hindu meditation techniques, stripped of any "religious" aspects.
Chanting, visualization, breath focus.
It's excellent and successful whichever approach you take. In fact, ten minutes of meditation can change your moment, mood and entire day.
I like that 'diving within' -
without manipulation, create and discover...
Everyone can do this - from ancient times it has been called 'prayer', and it links mind with infinite creativity.
This is positive, well known and tried.
Consciousness is everywhere.
Yes, btw 3 years and a decade passes homie
This is one of the best forums on TM. With creative leader David, physics expert Dr. John Hagelin and brain research scientist Dr. Fred Travis. The humor with clear information via analogies and metaphors by all three experts is engaging and current. As Bob Roth says at the onset, it is an exceptional event. For all who hear and understand an amazing tool for healing and well being. Thank you to all of the world leadership!
I love David!!!
i'm really glad his daughter is making films now, to carry out his legacy.
staring at his hands can cause enlightenment.
The course fees are quite reasonable in my experience. The benefits are great -- and they grow with time. The course fees for students now are less and also one can arrange to pay over time. The David Lynch Foundation has done remarkable things to remove stress and problems of at-risk kids, women in Africa, vets with PTSD, the homeless, etc. Take a look at his website--I found it extremely reassuring that so many people are donating, and so many people are benefiting.
Consciousness cannot be known yet everything appears in it !
When a soap bubble breaks
Where is the loss?
The same space there
minus the gloss!
The Self exists with or without form.
The most important bit: 40:10 - 41:38. " It's a communication, not a hundred percent with words".
I love this very intimate and candid exchange from David to his audience. It is really refreshing to hear someone excited about the subtle world we swim in as he describes his connection to the unified field. His exhuberance for life, delving into the self to find core happiness/ultimately world peace. Translate your own inner knowingness into a full and abundant creative unfolding moment by moment. Splash into your bliss.
☮Peace
much love!
E
I love how kind his replies are. What a sweet seeming man.
Thanks for posting this fantastic life changing event!
Half my ideas have come from dreams thanks to David Lynch. :)
Nice testimonials
Lynch is the greatest dude
I can listen to John Hagelin, Ph.D, everyday and all day!
This video is gold
I am not a Lynch fan, but I have to say..Twin Peaks is the best thing that has ever been created on television.
Thank you so much! It is wonderful!
so beautiful
That's a beautiful thing
John Hagelin is very good at explaining things.
Very exciting interview of David Lynch with Bob Riuth.
I saw them speak this very thing at the U of O here in Eugene, Oregon. It was awesome!
Thank You for the fantastic work!!!Meditating regularily since 1977.Feeling Hopeful for a complete healing.
I just want to say that I agree with the outrage about the cost. Meditation should be free to all. I started doing meditation, just clearing my mind not using a mantra. But if you search for so ham and click on the video "so ham mantra" with the blue eye. That one really kicked it off for me. I reached that ocean of pure consciousness. It was truly a beautiful experience it brought me to tears, I felt so happy. Breathing and good posture are essential. Hope this helps
The investment in the TM practice is like investing in any market product, only better. There is absolutely no guarantee with most investments of results. Even when you purchase a house, a vehicle, clothes, etc, the product wears out and you have to purchase again, or repair. Not so with TM. You have all you need and it doesn't wear down or need replacement! It heals you, your mind, your body and you are uplifted. You can still after decades, obtain a practice checking at no charge! There are very few organizations which offer any revisit service at no charge. Teachers need to be paid. They are paid once, and have no trails (residual income) when they lecture or conduct a practice checking.
As an example, most never revisit your medical provider, attorney or investment advisor with no charge... let alone mechanic, etc. But TM teachers are available.
It's always good to have dialog regarding questions and objections. I am telling you as someone who invested, the rest dividends if you will, don't stop! They accumulate! I hope in some way I have given some insight, and you have made the investment in a mantra.
really good
This is beautiful.
There are various meditation techniques, and some of them are taught FOR FREE, like Vipassana. I've attended two courses and found it great. Look for infos on the Web and you'll find more. Inner freedom is for all, like sunlight, and not just for those who've got money!
whatever TM costs these days is more than worth it. they teach it one on one and make sure that it's done right. If it's done right it's priceless. being so jaded will never lead you to choose wisely. you'll always feel that someone's always ripping you off.
@@larryprimeau7738 As I said, alternatives like Vipassana deliver quality results and don't cost anything. They're based on fully voluntary donations by people who tried the technique and are so satisfied with the results, that they're happy to offer the same chance to other people. Not jaded at all; it's just how things are.
These guys are insterested in creating Lightworkers!!! God i wish i could benifit fom this and be part of asocial group were everyone believes we are more than wanderers in the street with a 9 to 5
@AnnoyingTypoSyndrome your appreciation is a result of what David Lynch is talking about. We have each other to thank for this...But, especially, those that are brave enough to undertake it.
Thanks!
very interesting and thought provoking!
AWESOME POST ! !
the greatest film-maker of all times
this was excellent
very good...
This is life changing!
Can be!
good stuff...
Hagelin's voice is very nice
Leon the Professional I find that insight gleamed via meditation contains more emotional depth when I focus on more than breath or a word. Focus on a single object is vital to still the mind, but understanding the biochemical and psychological underpinnings of neural functions is equally important to maximizing meditation's value.
Oh I "taught" Maharishi & David Lynch everything he knows. In the 80s I would fast for peace of mind, couple days and come off it by drinking beers. Yes I know, it's not a perfect way to end a fast but as I lived in Australia it was necessary to when in Rome etc
Dr. John Hagelin est plutôt un phylosophe...j'adore...
YES
I think TM is an amazing meditation technique. I learned it around 15 years ago, before i discussed my financial capacity at the time with my teacher, and i think i paid something like 100 euro's and got around 50 euro's covered by the insurance. I know, times have changed rapidly. But i think $2500 is a lot of money, and if ur low on budget its a huge leap to make. I hope they still willing to look at every individuals financial reach.
A man who’s work will live on for decades…man eraserhead came out 44 years ago…decades feels like a strong undersell…
I thought that too.
Brilliant internet broadcast. Makes it.
In his movies we see from his view on the world I think :) There is lots of evil in this world, mostly evil, but there is always a glimpse of hope/light and love somewhere in Lynch's movies.
Genius
Does information exist outside the computer?
I would love to write a movie with that dude
I can't tell you how grateful I am that I discovered meditation.. I have always been shy and after 4 months it has helped me so much more with that than anything else ever has. It's a really wonderful feeling to finally be making progress! The anxiety I used to feel is going away, almost like magic it seems. I didn't do TM but a similar type of meditation that has identical effects, that not too many people know about yet because it is relitively new.. it is called NSR, it costs $47.
Wow. Sign me up.
Maybe I should start myself because i sort of have a big anger in me 2. Lately, a lot fucked up shit has been goin in my life and my mom and my sis have gotten in a lot of arguments and each time I kept coming close to being kicked out. That would be awesome to just sit in a quiet room be surrounded by sheer beauty. Lynch is the man!
that was a question asked during the session. he explained it.
all the best concerning the University, why shouldn't such a place exist in the world? really interesting subject matter.
When I learned it years ago, the teachers were idealistic and were passing the money to the organization. Correction: There was one that treated it as a business, he was the most know teacher in my state
As for the cost, when you pay for something, you value it and keep at it, to get your money's worth. If something is free, you tend to quit easily. Well, that has been my life experience
Speaking for myself, I learned it 20 years ago and still use it. I have no regrets, I got my money's worth.
Like David says in his speech repeatedly TM is "money in the bank"
@AnnoyingTypoSyndrome The most difficult, for most, is patience. True, very true. It's something that takes much effort and mindfulness.
i love the piece abou anger ...
check out 45:23, interesting camera shake occurrence "happens" as David Lynch discusses (sound) VIBRATION (shake = vibration) as it relates to a mantra. Is this, in his words, a "happy accident" (synchronicity), a technical glitch in camera operation, just a random occurrence or intentional action by the camera operator?
Most of the times, when filming such events. The camera is placed on quite a steady tripod (like this one is most likely). The camera does not need an operator yet there is often one person responsible for the camera and he or she will have to stay with it at all times. Maybe this person, or someone else accidentally pushed the camera or pulled a wire, anything could have happened..
I'd say it's a happy accident.
All those complaining about the cost involved in TM, they do have costs involved just like a church, or a business. I have a series of concerns about TM myself, and would not want to do it. David Lynch did say that if you wanted to try it you could contact him through his foundation and they could find a sponsor for you to check it out. So really you can "try before you buy".
@jacobromu Did you not see Fred Travis talk about the brain during Transcendental Meditation? He is one of the top cognitive scientists in the world today and his talk was incredibly insightful.
Meditation = Willingness xo
Im impressed with some of the questions that are being asked by the audience. Much respect to David also. He is a very interesting man.
For such a far out guy, he sure is down to earth :)
@1982CFD It is exactly that, you find it hard to believe and therefore, this is true for you. You experience that which you believe. It is entirely up to you. The beauty and liberation comes from within you. I(t is a matter of letting go of the old programming, The mind is like a parachute, it works better when it is open. Shine on!
@vxsouthxv How could it be harmful? And how do you know when to stop using the mantra? Sorry but I just started meditating and I want to make sure im not screwing up, thanks :)
A study accepted in the journal Sleep last month (but not yet published) claims that lucid dreaming should be not be considered a REM dreaming phenomenon but rather a unique state of consciousness (Voss, et al., 2009) This study, conducted at the Neurological Laboratory in Frankfurt, Germany, backs the assertion with physiological data taken with an EEG. lucid dreams are shown to differ from ordinary (REM) dreams by an increased brain frequency in the 40Hz (or GAMMA) range.
The course fee is less than that--and a whole lot less for students. Every organization has fees or donations. The Lynch Foundation is doing remarkable work. Take a look at his website.
i believe if your enlightened it means you have learened from all of your positiveand negative experiences..people get the wrong interpretation of evil. Its in everyone just like light and love.without it there would be no life lessons learned or freewill so therefore no reason for exsistence.we have to find the balance between positive and negative.like buddah said the path to enlightenment is in the middle way.
Good point you had though
Happiness to you
Namaste
You don't need to pay to do transcending meditation:Sit down comfortably anywhere, close your eyes and wait about half a minute, then repeat a word that has no meaning inside your head without rhythm, if you start having thoughts then slowly come back to the meaningless word again. The idea is to have your mind clear of thoughts. Don't move your lips and don't concentrate too hard on the word, don't hold your breath or anything like that. It's supposed to be relaxing. Then when you're finished, stop repeating the word inside your head and wait two minutes, open your eyes and you're done. It's supposed to be done twice a day for twenty minutes each.
Wrong ,you do not repeat the mantra willy nilly or control it, as its automatic, the mantras Tm uses are thousands of years old and are well know for their effects to calm the mind safely to enable one to reach the pure consciousness within or Self, using any old word could have unknown effects or simply not work.
Each meditator has their own personal mantra inparted one to one together with the all important technique. There is no other way to learn it.
Like any other precious thing you should pay for it,people spend a fortune on expensive booze, drugs, cars, holidays, sports, pastimes, to bring them happiness, but it doesn't work for long, a few days in the sun then back to work to earn more money to do it again next year, you know what I mean,TM brings happiness and energy, creativity, better health, its priceless, one payment ,benefits forever.
I have practiced TM for 34 years,it works, worth every penny.
I am not connected with the TM Movement either.
use ॐ universal mantra
John Smith so i guess bliss is only a luxury for those with money then.
Spoken like a true professional. May I suggest a green drink and an automatic roll up yoga mat? Then say namaste to someone on your Facebook. That's all!
Around 28:00 I thought David Lynch was giving a sermon and wearing a white collar...its a strange, strange world but also very beautiful .
I'm sorry to break your bubble, but some people simply don't have the money. And why are you trying to discriminate people with the thought of spending money being the most important thing? We're all here because of a certain interest, not because we all want to spend money. We all search for enlightenment and I think it's a wonderful thing David is trying to spread this idea into the Western World. We DO need to change, but don't know how. It's fantastic to see a celebrity do such a grand thing
take a look at the tedx talk by Mark Waldman, his brainscan meditation research is amazing
wow did Lynch really have to say: "...or let's enjoy the silence.." These people are extremely lucky to be in the presence of a cinematic genious and it takes like a minute or so until someone finally works up the courage to ask him a question? wtf? If I was there, I'd be taking up all the time with all the questions I'd like to ask Lynch, just to pick his brain..
woot woot berkeley
What about transendunital meditation?
Does electron have consciousness ?
Molecular biology and molecular evolution
Cosmology and cosmic evolution
If Universe evolves can electron evolve too?
Does evolution of life begin on electron’s level?
Origin of life is a result of physical laws that govern Universe.
Electron takes important part in this work
Question
Why does the simplest particle - electron have six formulas:
E=h*f, e = +ah*c , e = -ah*c, +E=Mc^2, -E=Mc^2, E= ∞ ?
Electron is not as simple as we think
does any meditation work as well, because i'm not sure i can find transandental meditation in my area
this uses a mantra. it is simple and I think it is why people are skeptical..in this science age where we demand explanations for everything....TM is different to other types which are all effective..you have to try different types to find what suits you best..if you want to know more let me know..i used TM to recover from post traumatic stress.
I would like to more lionSteve please contact me at your convenience. lesteze@gmail.com
so have you bought this meditation technique and is it working for you?
or did you let it pass and bought yourself drinks to get by each day ?
I like your glasses.
A great talk. Though I must admit, I skipped the brain talk in the mid.
It's more beneficial for survival to prepare for things that probably won't happen than not to prepare for things that DO happen against all expectations. pessimists survive.
David Lynch 2016
@24:46. Yes, if David Lynch asks, me or anyone in the world, the answer is 100% yes.
around 39:10 minutes in is a truly wholesome moment
