    I haven't had any issue re: battery performance on the 6K cameras, I have two (pro and G2).. I only use Blackmagic batteries and I've let them drain to almost zero without issue. I'm not sure what you're using for recording devices, but I primarily use portable NVMe drives via the USB port, WD Black to be precise. I used a Samsung 970EVO once and it dropped frames like bad habits and even crashed the camera twice. I was really disappointed with that disk. It'll probably end up in the new editor rig... Brand is everything, I suppose.
    Just a thought...

    Thank you Jerick for your thoughts. I just have two questions: 1. Did you find gfx100ii darker in the shadows and more noisy compared to xh2s? 2. Did you find rolling shutter as a noticeable problem when you shoot in crop-mode?

    I currently shoot on a Komodo and a Fuji xh2.. thinking about grabbing the gfx100 II because I love the amount of information In the photos and I want to use is for portraits of NBA players

      Yeah the GFX 100 II is definitely great portraits, specially if there's gonna be some movement. Its really fast compare to the older models and has great quality!

    You are in a similar situation to me in some ways. I used to use Xh2s and recently rented GFX100II and filmed for 12 hours. My biggest focus was how much better the image quality (centered on color grading) improved in Prores hq FLOG2.
    Looking at the footage I shot, I felt like I had gone from Canon's crop body to full frame in the past. Would you say it produces a clearer and clearer image? I am worried because the price has increased by four times. I'm asking since you're using Xh2s. If you were to use the (You already did it haha)

      Yeah I mean people have said that the XH2S produces really sharp images that they have to reduce the sharpness to make it look like "film" and for the GFX 100 II its really good camera but in my honest opinion and experience there wasn't much difference until you pixel peep the hell out of the images. So I like the HX2S if somehow the GFX were to shoot lets say Flog Raw or something then that's something worthy to switch over and also again it depends on what you're using it for. I'm not gonna be shooting movies that will be in the big screen anytime soon so it don't really matter. I just like how sharp, how easy it is to work with and how nice flog is for color grading, from both cameras.

      @@jerick.__ thank you I rented it and used it. Color grading is very easy and good due to the large format, but it is also inconvenient to operate. Will the GF100S II be better? ㅠㅜ As expected, it seems to have a clear limit since it is 10 bits. It would be great if RAW was supported internally.

    If you get the blackmagic video assist 12g for the gfx100ii (and update the firmware), you can record braw. Flog2 is nice, but you're leaving quality on the table shooting as-is.

    Do you cut between gfx & pocket if so how do they match

    • @jerick.__
      @jerick.__  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I actually do! In my honest opinion, it is a lot easier to match Fujifilm with BMPCC compare to other cameras. I used to have a canon and a Sony and never really got similar looking colors other than Fuji. Also for full transparency I'm not a colorist so im just speaking from my factors, luts and workflow, monitor, way it looks on phones, etc

    Hows the highlight roll off compared to the bmpcc 6k?

    • @jerick.__
      @jerick.__  Před 2 měsíci

      In all honesty I haven't gone in depth in terms of the comparison because I was just trying to see the difference between the use of both cameras. Maybe I'll try to do a more in depth review!

    Use your vmount but keep your npf battery in camera. Never use dummy batteries when using vmount. Just my opinion.

    • @jerick.__
      @jerick.__  Před 4 měsíci

      Yeah that was my situation but for some when I tried to go from npf power to vmount or vmount to npf power, I would have to turn it off completely

      Yeah unfortunately not as great as actually shooting BRAW from Blackmagic cameras... :/ thought about it tho!
