Dude I have been sitting here lamenting camera and lens reviews. I'm so sick of the 16 minute talking heads that show like 6 clips from a camera (always handheld) or a lens (always filming the tree in their backyard) and then just talk specs in front of twinkle lights and a friggin' chart.

This is one of those videos where you wished you had an unlimited like button! THIS. WAS. INCREDIBLE. From beginning to end! I’m an owner of the original GFX 100 which I got defective out the box so it completely killed any hopes I had of exploring the medium format universe. I swore I would never pick up another Fuji camera again but now you have me reconsidering. You did an amazing job brother! Standing ovation. If you got it defective from new, you should have gotten it warrantied. Fujifilm USA has been pretty stand up in my dealings with them. 100 percent agree that Fuji should give this cinematographer a GFX for free after they made this.
@@Bolton115 I did. But they refused to give me a new one and kept trying to fix the issue unsuccessfully. So what I basically did was after being so frustrated, I let the Fuji warranty expire and allow the B&H (I bought it from there) warranty to kick in. After they couldn’t fix it, so much time had passed they felt sorry for me and honored my warranty and gave me a full reimbursement AND they let me keep the camera seeing as how I never even have the opportunity to even use it. Which cost me so many jobs I cringe at the thought. So shout out to B&H.🫡 I used it to get the original Komodo and I still use the GFX in very limited situations. 👍🏿

These videos are amazing, I wish I could see the whole process, how do you organize all that footage, script, etc and put it all together. It seems like a huge amount of work to me and you make it look so easy! Amazing!

The way you approach product/gear reviews is what I have been missing on CZcams - actually showing what can be achieved with the product, not just showing random specs and comparing numbers, while seeing your face talking to the camera from your home studio. All those gear review CZcamsrs are focusing on the algorithm and producing the least effort content, that will bring them the easiest money. Unfortunately, there are so many doing the same thing and having the same approach, that the whole "market" is saturated. But you, you stand out. I can see the crazy amount of work you put in your content, if you enjoy this type of productions - please don't think about quitting. From a viewer perspective - it is working! Keep it up!

If you value dynamic range, colors, highlight roll-off, how good and organic the noise is and a fast rolling shutter. It's the best camera you can get for film-making without breaking the bank. The second best for me is the Fuji X-H2s. Only then comes the Sonys, the Canons and the Panasonics, which are good in other aspects which i do not value as much.

Agree! Its definitely the best mirrorless and hybrid camera I ever used
The GFX100 II produces a lovely image. I don’t think the XH2S is the next best option… having owned both and also owning the Sony A9III, I’m going to say the Sony is a better choice than the XH2S… if money is not an issue. Both capture a noisy image… and both clean up nicely in post. The Sony has better exposure latitude… reliable AF… usable stabilization… better low-light… superior frame rates, cropping options… just too many pluses to list. And the FHD is miles ahead of the XH2S. Needless to say I sold my XH2S shortly after the A9III arrived. The down side of the Sony is the price.
@@angryrabbitproductions1690 that’s when “without breaking the bank” comes in. I’d consider the XH2s the next best in that case. If we’re talking narrative filmmaking and production work, majority of the sony’s pluses like frame rates over 4k60, stabilization, low light and autofocus performance are non-factors. If you’re doing general videography where all that stuff is actually used, perhaps, depending on the type of work. The framerate thing isn’t really a plus, since both cams 4k max at 120fps. The XH2s is giving 6k Opengate with a 14bit readout, 2 more stops of dynamic range (usable DR) and a plethora of recording formats (in camera). That’s unheard of for anything that isn’t a high end cinena camera, let alone for only $2,500 (mainly the 14bit readout).
@@ermiaramez976 Did you already try the Sony FX3 with an Atomos Ninja? I'm curious what you can do with that. You are very talented and I think your cinematography has a lot to do with that. And coloring too. Can you do a breakdown about the lighting of this video?
Fuji need to put this in a body that could support a full production and I’d bite. Your Beautiful lighting, colour and composition it’s what stands out the most to me though. Well done! 👏👏👏

For what I've seen, the quality blown up the "cine scene"... aside note, congratulations for every single detail of this production, shots were perfect, Less grain and noise, even the narrator intonation and accent were perfect for the matter... I'm nobody in this business, but you... One single word: PERFECT.
The level of detail, love and care to make this video is beyond impressive - this is really beautiful to see, there was story, suspense, captivity - I did not watch a CZcams video, a review or showcase - I watched an artistic expression of an artist's choice of a tool , this was a film, a masterpiece and better yet, an experience! wow.

This is how I have always imagined filming my favorite and most difficult hike at the volcano. I would have needed help as it's about 18 miles and 15-20 hours adventure. Your vision of it all would have been great. I document stuff. You make films.
