This blizzard shelling ADVENTURE was almost a total ZERO. Today we are doing some blizzard storm prep, storming and digging out! In this video we give you a little taste of winter in New England and what life is like when a blizzard hits Plum Island. POST STORM SHELLS were almost a dud, but stick around until the end for BIG storm score! Blue and black STORM SHELLS are here! You can never really tell what winter storms will bring up (even a friendly visitor from NY) and today's hunt is proof of that. Be sure to watch the full video for some crazy finds at the end!

Thank you! đ I so appreciate the support! My mom and dad live in Florida and I love shelling those beaches. I go to a beach with them in Manissota (sp?) By Venice beach and we find shark teeth and fossils. Also, last time we found a scotch bonnet! I was stoked. I'm obsessed with shelling which is why even in single digit weather I am on the beach :) Spring is right around the corner, but until then, snow shelling it is! đââ¤

Those huge shells just blow my mind. That one towards the end of the video, it was bigger than your palm, easily. Lol. And looked heavy? Hi Georgeana! The wind was crazy, but last year we cleared all the dead trees off our property so we slept ok during that blizzard! The power lines scare me sometimes, but we have been lucky so far :) Also - this snow was not heavy so that helped a lot! It wasn't weighing on the trees of the lines and much easier to clean up and shovel! I am super excited to get back out to the beach to see what else washes up! Omg, what glorious shells you have⣠i have been on a crocheting kick for my G-daughters making a victorian crochet dress which includes a hoop skirt for thier 18" AG dolls. That hoop skirt is scary looking indeed! It literally looks like a cage, lol. And i must say thankyou for the shout out, did you try to keep the shells in sea water untill it was time to shellac/polyurathane? I think you are on the rite track from what i saw. It was extra beautifull⣠But like you, i like blue too, đ¤. Bless ur heart n i will ask around too. I live near a dam so mabe someone will know how to keep oxidizing from happening. Gonna play catchup tonight, my hands r sore from all the crochet, lol. Stay safe/wellđĽ°âŁ

All things handmade are extra special! ⤠I still have to test keeping in in the sea water and going directly from that to the urethane. To be continued...maybe when it's warmer. We have had really high winds. Haven't been to the beach all week. I'm hoping to go tomorrow. Will keep you posted if I go and will send pics on ig if I find anything.

I had the same experience after hurricane Ian, the storm stayed on northeast for days (im in NJ) and I was so excited for when it chilled out so I could go get all the shells,
And there was nothing!! Then I went a few days later and I hit the lotto đ
Hi Audrey! I am 100% shell nut for sure! lol. Do you find nice large knobbed whelks and channeled whelks in NJ? NJ is on my list for beaches and whelk finds.
@@PlumIslandSeaCabin I have a secret beach I go to that washes up hundreds of whelks, both channel and knobbed and so so many shark eyes. I have so many shells!! I try and leave the shark eyes alone now for the hermit crabs since I have way too many. But whelks, I canât walk past. đ I only take the ones on perfect condition though, and obviously if no one is home. I have found 3 whelks over 10 inches long, 2 that their opening is on the left side ( and not lightening whelks), and so much more. Iâm in the Atlantic City area, born and raised in Ocean City, NJ. If you come this way let me know and Iâll let you in on my spot!!
This weekend I am going glassing in Cape May and Iâm really excited. Gonna be raining so even more excited cause no one will want to come to the beach đ The beaches down in Cape May are pebbly beaches so Iâm excited to see how much sea glass Iâll find đ¤

Hi Eva! Yes - based on all the research I've done and past storms, it seems that day 3 is the lucky number! I am excited to get back out there to see if anything else washes up!
