GTA 5: Treasure of the Sands (Machinima)

- Set in 1940, during the Italian invasion of Egypt. Treasure of the Sands follows the journey of a man seeking an ancient Egyptian artefact in the beginning of World War II. This GTA 5 machinima is my tribute to the adventure genre. I was mainly inspired by Indiana Jones movies, Lawrence of Arabia and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. You can also find many references to other video games such as Uncharted 3 and Assassin's Creed Origins.
This was a huge project and it took over a month to finish. This is my second longest and probably my most action-based film. I really hope you like the video. If you do, please SUBSCRIBE to my channel for more GTA 5 machinimas!

Expertly done! Lots of wonderful moments - - going into the pyramid, which reminded me of Imprisoned with the Pharaohs by HP Lovecraft, getting into the flying plane, the awesome submarine, and a lot of difficult action scenes! I do hope the artifact “ends up in a museum where it belongs“, though :). Since Spielberg and Lucas have kind of lost the spirit of their movies, you have found it again!
The ending was also Lovecraftian.
Reminds me I’d like to see some Lovecraft machinima, since Hollywood so thoroughly botches every Lovecraft movie they make.

Thanks so much for this thoughtful comment! It's interesting that you found connection to H.P Lovecraft because it wasn't actually my intention to make references to his work. This is very cool, because I've never thought it that way. Raiders of the Lost Ark was my main inspiration for the pyramid scene. For the ending, I wanted to bring this old Film noir vibe. My goal was to make the protagonist more complex character, some sort of a thief like Nathan Drake in Uncharted 🙂
the surprising part is not the movie...
It is how you only have 8 thousand subs after this
So l was totally blown away with this one. I have to thank you for adding some type of voiceover with this one, really added to the professionalism of the movie. Loved the floating platforms he jumps across brilliant! :) Your imagination exceeds most making machinimas so l can admit you are by far one of the greatest. Also loved the old cars at the end this whole movie was very well done and planned out, must have to make some type of storyboard to figure it all out.So l take it there's a part 2! ( hows your climbing skills). I noticed this one is a little more like a full length feature film, pretty soon its off to Universal Studios, show them how to make real movies! :) So Savik did another amazing job on the soundtrack very very well done! I subbed him quite awhile ago. Overall l extremely enjoyed watching the movie, sorry l havn't bin around for bit, but l dont care what anyone says you are the king of mods! :)
Thank you for watching and taking time to comment. It's great to hear that you liked the movie. Unfortunately there's not going to be a sequel any time soon. This was so massive project that the next time I want to do something in a smaller scale. For example, that 5 minute chase scene took over a week and lots of retakes. I tend to use a lot of different mods and that always makes things more difficult. Machinima making is very challenging because you have to plan every scenario. You can't just go and play the game like you normally do. I usually make some kind of a "script" before I start filming the scene. So, yeah it definitely needs some planning. Savfk did truly amazing job on this and he has earned all the respect! :)

This film is amazing and it's a great lengthy one. I had no idea you could make something like this with GTA 5's tools. I love every detail of it and even the change of clothes. I also laughed at the Uncharted and AC: Origins (pyramid slide) references. :-)

One of my favourite video game series and yes it was my inspiration for this movie 😁
If this was based in the 40s they wouldn't have jets but one airplane you could have used could've been the p-45 Nokota. Because in the 40s was around World War II and the only planes they had were propeller based airplanes but overall it was a good short film 👌
Yeah I know that. I used F-86 Sabre because it was the only one that had Italian livery. They also didn't have Willys Jeeps or MG-42 in 1940.

Yeah they change because the weapon textures aren't high enough. That happens when you move camera too far. It's annoying problem I just have to deal with. Thanks for watching the video btw!

No it's just a basic animation. I used menyoo to go upwards.
TwistedWisdom yeah that's called airbreak right? Atleast in the simple native trainer. I use both menyoo and the native trainer

I don't use simple or native trainer myself, so It's not airbreak. That character is just in an endless loop of the rappel animation. I simply used Menyoo to move him vertically. Thanks a lot for the kind words man, it's much appreciated :)

I can't remember the name of the prop. It's either from the game or part of the Map builder.
I know Batman is your favorite dc superhero but is there a favorite marvel hero you like if so can you make a series of him/her
Yeah you're right, Batman is my favourite. I'm not a big Marvel fan but I like Spider-Man and X-Men. I like to make movies about the subjects I'm interested in and at the moment, superheroes are not one of them. Maybe in the future though 🤔
