    yeah, get with the tool for removing the filter, saves bashing the EAS unit trying to remove it. Those 4 white stickers you didnt fit are for holding the rope seal to stop it moving like it did for you... which can ruin the PM sensor when that seal fails

    They do recommend that you remove that piece of paper someone so thoughtfully stuck on the face of the DPF ...I don't know if you are aware ,but occassionaly the filter gets forced out of it's housing ,if you get that check items like the VTG and BPV ,,it is also recommended to open up the oil filter and check for soot if ok replace filter if not change the oil ..I hear Howdens are moving , i think it is to close brothers

    So had this truck failed a force regen and is that why the dpf was replaced?
    Are there any specialist HGV DPF cleaning companies out there? If so have you run a cleaned vs replacement dpf and did it clog any faster?

    • @freightlanetv
      @freightlanetv  Před 2 lety +2

      good question mate, the DPF was replaced as we do these every year or so as a serviceable item, the old one gets cleaned and put in the system kinda thing, so when someone is having one cleaned they then have our cleaned one if that makes sense. yeah, we use a company in Milton Keynes to do ours can find out the name if needed. whenever we had them cleaned we've not had any come back or new ones etc, we've had a fair few issues with the dosing modules in the cat blocking etc causing excessive dosing which then blocks up DPFs with AdBlue too.

  • @cav551

    Thoroughly enjoying trawling through these videos which are a great help. I shall be following your advice to pull the cover off and have a look at the DPF since I have an intermittent exhaust system warning ( lasts until the engine is switched off and then doesn't reappear for several days). This is accompanied by noticeable exhaust smoke ONLY when accelerating, for about 10 minutes IN TOTAL, and then the exhaust is clear again. My question is: do you have the part no for the outermost gasket which will be disturbed just having a look inside please? My dealer is wanting to sell me a kit and not just one gasket.

    • @freightlanetv
      @freightlanetv  Před 2 lety

      Yeah for the sake off 10 minutes it’s worth it just to check it’s all alright. Yeah they do come a in a kit mate tbf

      Did you find out was wrong with it? Mine did exactly what u described, long regen with massive clouds of white smoke only
      when going uphill or engine is revved up. Second time it happens this month, dealer says it s normal with 600kbkm on it, but the dpf was changed just 1 year ago

    • @cav551
      @cav551 Před 9 měsíci

      @@pchris5391 yes knackered DOC. Many, many, pennies. NOX before & differential temperature sensors had to be replaced during dealer's very thorough Davie diagnosis. The fault finding tree is an impressive list of checks: a very detailed procedure including monitoring various parameters during a road test. These two fast moving parts were credited on the final invoice.
