Abhi they should market it as Mumbai Goa via Old Ladakh. Adventure tourism ka scope bana lo. Btw It was Prithwiraj Chavan's govt when the work of this highway started and as usual khangress put in seeds of corruption in there. Next govt was Fadanvis for 5 years but his attention was on the opposite side so did not notice the seeds of corruption flourishing. Maybe partly that's why his govt. also fell.

When you said Maha State PWD then I understood why everything about NH 66 is broken. No more explanation required.
The real problem is lack of maintenance. The four laned tar roads were really good when it was new. I had gone to Tarkarli about 2 years back and to a large extent, the roads were good. Infact, the ghat sections, where no work was done, was actually better than the new roads. But no effort was done towards maintaining it. We could have saved all this effort and cost of concretizing the same stretch. Looks like fund allocation is only for making new roads, not maintaining them.
Tar roads don't develop potholes in 2 years. What do you mean by maintainane apart from filling potholes. Have we ever filled potholes on time?
In theory, asphalt/tar roads could be made that would last 10-15 years with minimal upkeep but our contractors haven't shown ability to build such roads yet.
So building concrete roads especially in coastal belt there there is tooo much rain, is the solution.
May be NHAI thought similar to you and built the tar roads but all that was waste as we have to be relaid those sections now.
There can be preventive maintenance done, don't need to wait for a pothole to arise before doing work.

Great work. Keep going. This road is an example how far behind Maharashtra has fallen behind other states in terms of infrastructure. Politics ruining everything in our beautiful Konkan.
I was a kid when they might have started with the repair of the highway. Today I’m 27 years old and the highway is still in the making. It’s sad how the politicians take us Konkani people for granted. Despite of such a beautiful land we have to go by Bengaluru highway to our hometown.
I am a tourist from Sambhajinagar and drove all the way till Mahabaleshwar, the roads were amazing everywhere, as soon as i entered poladpur and got on this road, it was an hell of a ride, it took me 5 hours from Khed to Ganpatipule, driving on that patch where road literally doesn't exist at night was a nightmare.
Bro I have driven on this road mang times at night in past many years. I couldn't even blink my eye while driving and then after pain I would realise it 😅. Especially during rains...

👍👍👍 the main reason for PQC in Maharashtra is heavy rains. All the western coastal regions need PQC roads. Bitumen road get damaged easily.

Konkan is the Heaven.....Apart from road issue...We can say Konkan is the worlds largest THEME PARK & Govt place Highway between t it..saw many konkan vlogs by road...but the watching vlogs by drone it really unique experience specially in rainy season..Droneman Works really good..the way he shoot ...camera angle, clarity & even provding knowledge..one of the best vlog on konkan..

Please cover kerala stretch also. You can see engineering marvels on Malappuram’s region. KNRCL is doing this difficult work in hilly terrain. works are completed more than 50%. In kerala NH 66 is 6 lain carriage + 2 service road.

Here is a suggestion you might want to create your website on which you can put updates of all the projects in a list and with links to the videos on CZcams then from time to time you can continue to put additional information on your website. For example, the first video could be the status in January 2023 then the next update is another video in December 2023, and so on.
Your videos are so informative & eyepleasing to watch. I saw your igatpuri samruddhi section- Samrudhi mahamarg video. I am also Afcons employee. Feeling proud to watch. Fewling very sad to see the condition of this highway. We use this highway to go our native place at sindhudurg. Sindhudurg part almost completed. But raigad & ratnagiri dist.part is still pending. Quality issues are also there. These kind of highway should give to reputed companies like L & T, Afcons etc. Hopefully completed very soon. Waiting for your next video.

Problem with Maharashtara is that it sees too many Government changes and no concistency. All the parties are mostly in Election mode all the time, but you can't do anything unless you are in power. MAH is a large state and it needs a stable Government for atleast 10 years to finish these projects.
Well people delivered their massage in 2019 giving second regime to BJP and shivsena but shivsena sold his soul to devil khangress and NCP. Rest is recent history and present.

Super info bro... I m from nagothane and i was left nagothane in 2017 because of road.. I was two time survive by road accident between panvel to nagothane.. I was daily travel nagothane panvel nagothane from 2012. Daily I was scared about road safety and big holes on road.. but i was decide to leave from nagothane and now i am in pune..
That flyover which you have covered with greenery, if NHAI doesn't start work on it, then very soon it could turn into forest & then will have to seek Environment Ministry permission😂

The Maharashtra sections of the NH66 is where the problem lies. Goa, apart from Porvorim and Chinchinin sections, the NH66 is done so well. And from Katwar to kanya Kumari things are better with better road quality. All Maharashtrians involved in this project need to step their game up

i work at jsw, its my daily office route... things are getting better day by day
Last sunday itself i went to alibaug and i can say that work was on with full fledge but as u mentioned the quality is compromised in many operational section.. moreover the congestion is too bad nowadays and monsoon makes it more terrible.. till last year bitumen roads were fantastic but now its awful.. this hurts me aswell as this project is handled carelessly and i think we still have time to get someone inspect and make it right in due time

The Centre should takeover this project. The poorer states like UP may get a lot of taxpayer money from the richer states but atleast they use it properly!
As a maharashtrian my humble request to government is kick all the small contractor who are friends with local politicians and give the contract to companies like l&t. They will deliver the project on time with best results.
And tbis should be done with the road which comes under municipal corporation too. This fuckers are so corrupt that every year they had to dig the same road for absolutely bullshit reasons.
This local bodys are unbelievably shameless.
Being punekar, the roads in the Pune should be named with gali.
I am from Rajasthan and our state govts has done one thing right, never delayed highway projects

Hum log pen raigad mai rahate hai jo Mumbai Goa highway ke side Mai hi aata hai tho panvel se pen daily ka aana jana rahata hai tho panvel concrete road bante huwe pen tak kam hone ke baad dheere dheere who concrete road chalu huwa phir kuch hi dino mai who road hi bumpy hogaya hai aur abhi kam pen se wadkhal ka horaha hai full traffic laga raheta hai kabhi kabhi 3 se 4 ghante pen se wadkhal jane mai hi lag jate hai .

Thanks for the video. It is a national shame. When other expressways are getting completed in record time, too bad that NH-66 has become a problem child. I think with the exception of Kerala section, entire NH-66 is a mess. For instance in Karnataka section, there should have been service roads in high population density locations, but that is not done. There should have under pass and over passes at many high density, high traffic intersections which are missing from the plan.
