- Mumbai Goa Highway Project is the road widening from 2 lane to 4 lane of existing NH66 connecting Mumbai to Goa. This Project was started a decade ago in 2011, but till now the highway project isn't completed.

Yes I drove from kankavli to Mumbai in April 1st week 70% is completed much better progress. Reached in 10 hrs very much satisfied. Normally we used to take Karad Pune. route. Nitin Gadkari astil tar possible hoil
सफर भी किया हे और suffer भी, हम कोंकण रिजन मे रेहेने वालों के लिये मुंबई से हमारे घर आने जाने का यह रास्ता ही एक मात्र साधन हे, जब ये 2 लेन का था तब रास्ता छोटा था पर रास्तेकी क्वालिटी बढीया थी सफर मे वक्त लगतां था पर थकावट नहिं होती थी, अब रास्ता बढा चोढा हो गया हे लेकीन क्वालिटी एकदम घटिया हुई हे, साथ ही मे तकरिबन 14 से 17 साल काम चालू हे, और जीस गती से काम चालू हे इसे पुरा होने मे शयाद और 5 से 7 साल लग सकते हें, आपणे जो व्हिडिओ बनाया हे वोह बेहद खूबसुरत हे .. धन्यवाद 🙏

@@gweher43how would it benefit anyone if developed states (Maharashtra orTamilNadu) split from India! We get resources from other states and workforce from all around India. Coal from Bihar/Jharkhand,etc. see West Bengal (Calcutta) once the most industrialised in the whole of Asia (not including Japan) is now not as good as Bangalore/Hyderabad. The whole world is going towards unification (EU, BRI, CPEC,etc.) Its better to stay united and grow together than split and die. Maharashtra has good plans for 1 trillion dollar economy with in next 7 years , TamilNadu , Gujarat , Karnataka,UP to follow through in next 15 years.
I have used this road in recent past. The work is progressing at a good pace now. Let's hope for the best
Thanks for the update. Still the speed need to be increased by govt. As monsoon is approching it will be difficult to work.
Suffered a lot it almost took 12 hours from Mumbai to goa on this and no food courts and wash rooms makes it really difficult for family to travel but now seeing the progress hopefully by next few months it would be ready and we shall travel again

Noway. There are in many sections work isn't even started. Mainly in towns along nh66
3 to 4 years to go if works goes at current pace. Chiplun flyover itself sees no progress which puts a question on the completion timeline
My friend I did a round trip from sawntwadi to panvel on 7/8/24 and I'm telling you this highway will not be completed for atleast another 5 years

I just traveled up and down from Goa to Mumbai and back in the last 3 days. The highway has improved. It is now faster, shorter and more economic than the Belgaum, Kholapur, Pune route that I used to travel on previously. One bit of advice, if traveling from Mumbai to Goa, leave NH 66 by taking left turn before Sangameshwar bridge, this will take you on a high quality, 2 lane state highway right till Watul. There is usually very little traffic on this short cut. Similarly, when traveling from Goa to Mumbai, take right turn under Watul flyover. You can complete the journey in 10 hrs non-stop. For me it took 12 hrs. Because of meals, etc.
Arey bhai I have travelled by this road when it took 2 days to reach mumbai in 1990-1993, where most road was of potholes and mud, and now looking at it is very satisfying experience.

Till the time they dont complete Mangaon bypass and Indapur bypass, there is no point in using Mumbai Goa Highway. it takes an hour to cross Mangaon traffic. It is better to use Karad malkapur kokrud Anuskura ghat to travel Sindhudurg or Goa

Mangaon traffic has become horrible. And even Nitin Gadkari accepted that this road construction has been a failure. More than 12 years is too long a time
@@saaquibsawant2682 As they have started construction between Wadkhal to Mangaon, I wonder why they haven't started work at Mangaon bypass. If Mangaon bypass will get complete then it will save an hour in peak hours

Sad thing is this delay happened in Mr. Gadakari's home state. Land Acquisition was the biggest hurdle. I still can't believe how come NHAI appointed contractors who financial condition is not good which was went to bankruptcy. MEP Sanjose is one of them. Some of the contractors only went to court & impose stop work order from the court. Full of Babu giri from NHAI officials.
NHAI is not to be blamed for this... Maharashtra PWD dept has control over this project...also lack of political will, here politicians only remember the voters when Ganapati festival approaches and then they promise big things which remain unfinished like this highway since last 17 years. Basically they are fooling the konkani janta

I am surprised to see so many curves on this highway after 4 lane expansion from 2 lanes. For example, the S curve at 2:52 was completely avoidable.
They should have tried reducing the number of curves to increase the speed limit. Such sharp curves will have a speed limit of 60-80 KMPH. while straight sections are 100-120KMPH.
Also, less curves mean less accidents.

I think consider Mumbai-Goa Highway.. as traveling via khalapur will be a long journey.. as well as i never explored that route after kgalapur.
In the case of Mumbai Goa Highway you will gwt some bad road after Nagothane.. but rest is fine

just to remind everyone this highway is planned from mumbai to kochi ... of which goa state has done a excellent job in completing most of it but Maharashtra n Kerala r lacking far behind... it will take another 12+ more years to complete the whole project at d speed its going on ... just saw d progress live on my way back from South of India to mumbai ...😬😬
NH66 stretch on Maharashtra has the lowest quality work. It looks like done by some village contractors. No finishing, uneven road surface, no proper drainage, center divider of uneven quality 😢😂
