- This video was shot from August to December 2018, before Kintaro was born.
This is the last few months when Gentaro monopolized Genki's love.
Around this time, I sometimes saw Gentaro and Genki sleeping together.
But now I rarely see it.
⚠️ Due to the spread of COVID-19, Kyoto City Zoo will be closed from April 25th to May 31st.
(The closed period may be extended)
In the meantime, past videos will increase, but please understand.

⭐️モモタロウ Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
momotaro was born at Ueno zoo in Tokyo on jul.3,2000 and came to our zoo on Oct.18,2010.
He is beautiful and handsome ,the silverback of our troop.
He is a little timid,and scared of new things.
He sometimes shows lovely behaviors that melt our hearts.
He is making efforts to be a good dad for his two sons.
⭐️ゲンキ Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Genki was born at our zoo on Jun,24,1986.
After mating with several males without a pregnancy she found her perfect partner Momotaro.
Now she is a loving and caring mom for her two sons.
She sometimes behaves boldly,yet she can also be sensitive.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️ゲンタロウ Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at our zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
Everyone immediately agrees that he is a very adorable boy.
⭐️キンタロウ Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at our zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.
He love to play by himself,with his father.
He is still small, but smart and strong-willed.
His cute appearance and behavior attract everyone's interest.

I wish Genki would still show him some of the same tenderness now as she did back then for Gentaro. He as always been so attached to his momma so it’s only normal that he acted out so much after Kintaro was born. Gentaro has always been a sweet little guy and it’s so cute to see him like this with his fingers still in his mouth. I’m so glad Kintaro is big enough to play with him now so he’s not so neglected bc Kintaro loves playing with his big brother.

Awwwww.........such a sweet & loving Mum & Son. Poor Gentaro 😢 had to be pushed away after Kintaro was born but that's just how it is he need to be independent to be become a Silverback. But now that Kintaro is a bit grown up they have each other to play with. Love the Momotaro family 🥰

This is a lovely video, showing how close Genki was with Gentaro before Kintaro came along and stole mom. He is a lot closer with his dad now, though Momotaro seems to be having fun with both boys now, so Gentaro isn't feeling so left out anymore.

Gentaro love to have quality time with mom
Gentaro is the love cornerstone of this family. He loves his little brother Kintaro mostly. Next I would say he loves play fighting with his father. Perhaps his best and deep expression of love is his submissive interaction with Genki.
When watching him with his mother I can hear him say clearly "mom I need some loving". So sweet.
Most people mix his energy and strength with his caring nature.
Gorillas use a lot body language to transfer information about different moods. If Gentaro tries to run away dragging cutest gorilla ever, Kintaro with him. His mother gives a short pursuit, and he let's go immediately. He sits, crosses his arms on his stomach. Then he looks away from his like, "sorry mom, I only wanted to play with Kintaro".
If his dad is angry with him and gets aggressive he never runs away and stays away. He goes right back to his father and stares at him, from a safe distance. His inquisitive nature seems like he his saying "sorry dad, are we still friends?"
Gentaro is special, a rare breed. Always seeking peace and apologetic when he is wrong.
Yet the most energetic member of the family.
We all love him, such a cool dude.

Seeing this makes me feel so bad for Gentaro.He got so much attention from Genki before Kintaro was born.It now makes sense why Gentaro started acting out so bad.Genki started pushing him away when Kintaro was born and not as affectionate towards him. He looks so sad sometimes it breaks my heart!

De volta ao passado… Genki espera Kintaro que nascerá 5 meses depois, Gentaro com 5 anos é um Bebezão e mamãe o trata assim ele fica o tempo todo agarrado com mamãe, dorme com ela é examinando, catado e acarinhado. Observo que Genki nessa época não comia tanto, isso acontece depois do nascimento de Kintaro. O ambiente também sofreu algumas melhorias, a caixa por exemplo foi ampliada e recebeu uma cerca mais baixa, agora ela comporta toda a família. Genki está muito linda grávida e muito calma. Lindo vídeo.

I know he loves his brother but he's definitely jealous and has got genki paranoid of him hurting her or baby kintoro. I just feel bad because I think they view him as an outside because he was raised by humans. On times in the morning when they all race out Gentoro patiently waits for zookeepers or bangs on walls. His facial expressions break my heart sometimes.
