- On 11/12/23 after a full and fun weekend up north, we decided to round things out on the way home with a hike up Stinson Mountain with our little one. This was my 3rd time being up this lovely, less-crowded New Hampshire 52 with a View peak. Being in Rumney, it wasn't exactly "on the way home" from Lincoln but not terribly far out of the way either.
On 11/10/23 I made a traverse of Moriah and Shelburne Moriah, 11/11/23 we ran the Rescue Me 5K in Lincoln, so by Sunday we were ready for a nice easy hike before we made the drive back to Southeastern Massachusetts.
Stinson Mountain by the Stinson Mountain Trail is just under 4 miles round trip and about 1400' of elevation gain. It never gets particularly steep so I knew I'd be more than comfortable doing it with my daughter in her carrier pack. Optionally you can take a snowmobile trail down or up instead of the hiking trail but note that it can be wet most times of year and you certainly wouldn't want to be on it if there was snowmobile traffic. It does have some nice and different views this time of year and in the winter so it can be nice to break up the monotony of hiking down the same way.
We used spikes on the way down and they would've been usable in many sections on the way up, winter appears to be here in full force this year in the Whites (fingers crossed)!

Such a great place to explore. Enjoyed watching your awesome video guys!
Yes a beautiful little mountain and perfect family hike! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed!
What a good sport your little girl was. ❤ It was cute how she was peeking out from under her hood as you hiked. :) Perfect weather.
How many of the 52 do you have left?
Yes she did pretty great, got a little fussy on the summit because she wanted to get out and walk, obviously not a great place to do that lol. She feel asleep literally about 10 minutes into the hike down and slept a good chunk of the way home. 4 left, North/South Baldface, Eagle Crag, and Eastman. I think I may try to get Eastman out of the way but the other 3 I will be saving for the final hike when things warm up again. There is a T25 up the Baldfaces I'd like to hit doing them and it's the preferred route, not recommended in Winter. Technically you could tag Eastman onto that hike too but Eastman may shape up for a hike on its own before we hit calendar Winter. Thanks for watching as always!
