⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ NYC Subway Tank Cars being Transferred in Brooklyn

The MTA has a small fleet of tank cars used to carry various liquids such as water and weed-killing chemicals. They are very rarely used and seldom seen in the subway system, especially coupled together in consists of multiple tank cars! Here we see two of these cars being transferred along the F line in Brooklyn. Enjoy!

Amazing to see these cars still able to fit in the tunnels as I always see them at Coney Island yard or 38 street yard

I like how they are obligated to be smaller and divided into two to fit the tunnels. The freight ones are much bigger.
I also like that they also have their own number sign like a regular subway car.

It’s two smaller tank cars with the capacity of almost one bigger freight car used for example by CSX.
That way it negotiates better the tighter curves and tunnel space of the NYC Subway.

@@Bassotronics but they apparently usually run solo, not in pairs, so maybe they just don't need as much capacity for the jobs they perform?
