People know in advance, police officers are there in case something happens (almost in every such video its the case), they tell people before the video that they will be there. Most of them are prop invited and pretend that they don't know untill the reveal. Not really realistic although i wish they would do it in real life not just staged. Its a controled mass. Maybe because of security reason or whatever but it is.
