  • Well, what else to expect when the mercury is soaring in mid 40s. This time of the year when it is locally referred as "Nau tapa", meaning nine hottest days of the year. This is the time when the Tigers find respite only in water. Question is when you see them under the hot sun are you comfortable enough? Most like no. But when you are seeing the little one of the Tiger playing in water and playing with her mother it has a cooling effect on you. That mid 40s sun seems like 25. The duration of sightings increase during this time.
This is one favorite spot for some Tigers in Kanha round the year.

@@SharadKumarVats Both the cubs killed must be males. The one he left is probably a female cub. It seems they tend to kill male cubs to reduce future competition. I have seen this tendency even in stray domestic cats.

@@BH-yl1niA male that is not the father of the cubs will kill them all, regardless of sex. The intention is not to reduce future competition, but to rather bring the female into oestrus, which she will not come into until her cubs are adults
