  • There's something #oddlysatisfying when dipping a COB LED light into motor oil. Doing some experiments for the final version of my work FOSFEEN. ⁣

you can do like an automatic shade control window with that
just put some oil between two glass panels and by controlling the gap between the panels you can control the amount of light passing

smart, but also i dont think having a leaky window spill motor oil all over your house is very nice

Cheaper alternative to current designs, yes, but ehhh

@@capt_fruit Obviously that's not what they meant.
Make two panels of glass or acrylic that are sealed but moveable, fill the gap with some dark colored fluid, and seal it up, except for a small syringe type of reservoir for the fluid. Push the syringe and it increases the pressure pushing the panes apart and making it darker, pull the syringe and the panes will come together and get more clear.
It could be done pretty easily.

I'm a mechanic and can confirm, also diesel engine oil is much much blacker than gasoline engine oil, as you clearly see it's a bit brown

How about a neon light tube in motor oil?! I'm no chemist, but I would have to suggest some safety equipment for that test just in case

It is 'an' because LED as an acronym is pronounced ell-ee-dee which starts with a vowel.. English is weird.

    • @nrdesign1991

Depends how you say the word LED.
It can be either "An El-Ee-Dee" or "a lead"
