Senri Kawaguchi is a Japanese jazz and fusion drummer. In Japan she is sometimes known as tekazuhime (手数姫), ("Princess of Many Strokes").

I started drumming nearly 50 years ago - and I am honored to have a young woman in a dress "show me the door"...she looks dainty, but she can drum many guys under the table...
She is short, and she looks like she has to reach some cymbals (but she does it!)...
Her smile just adds to her great playing...

The most beautiful display of power, speed and elegance, all while being commanding, yet feminine. There is no one like her. Senri Kawaguchi is a goddess among mortals.
For me it is not just her incredible talent but it is the beautiful spirit she exudes while playing. I have watched dozens of Senri's videos and she is always smiling and genuinely enjoys collaborating with others. I wish she would come tour the US so I could see her play live.

So complex, so intense, so groovy, so fluent and finally so musical. And so funny too, about the way she reacts when the stick breaks.
So many variations and styles in 5 minutes, but all of them are completely linked into only one coherent piece. The perfect drum solo. This is just brilliant.
And the sound of your drum set is just... Oh good lord! Your recording engineer is a guru!

Wow- love the way SK started off with a theme, explored snare/tom interplay, even changed time signatures, maintained the groove. Her ambidextrousness is insane. She doesn't just do a lot of banging, there's serious compositional skill with this girl. SK puts together elements of Gary Chester's book, 4 way Independence, Steve Smith, a little Thomas Lang, the precision of Simon Phillips, excellent stick rebound a la Buddy Rich, and a beautiful smile. She'll go far, either with a band or solo artist like her teacher Kogo Suganuma or Akira Jimbo. I've only seen Akira live, but Senri's got that same steady, frightening groove precision. Best drummer I’ve ever seen/heard, cannot resist any vid of hers, her sense of rhythm and physical talent are both off the charts. Beyond that she is so humble, happy and beautiful, if I was 25 yr old I would fly to Japan tomorrow and do everything humanly possible to meet her.
She's a Jazz Fusion drummer that has insane double bass chops (typically seen in metal drumming)!! Highly versatile drummer to say the least! Glad this was in my recommended!

I play drum drums...but I am not a drummer. I have some skill...but I am not a drummer... I've even played in a few bands and recorded on a few songs...but I am not a drummer.
This in fact is a drummer. Her dynamics and technique is absolutely epic! She flawlessly moves from drum to drum as if gliding through the air. She is a drummer.
Hands-down one of the greatest and most talented displays of anything I've ever seen in my entire life!
All I can say is you obviously have almost no experience with music. Or with any other form of artistry. Your entire life must be very brief.

I think I know where he's coming from, though: Women often get more credit than they are due for when doing activities that are usually male-dominated. Not so with Senri: She is undeniably world-class.
Super talented drummer! Awesome solo
A couple other amazing Japanese drummers I'd *love* to see give a presentation with Drumeo are Kido Hiroshi (城戸紘志) and Kosuke Kamata (鎌田紘輔). They're my two all time favorite drummers for their versatility. No matter what genre (metal, jazz, rock, fusion) they can both fit into any song extremely well, and they put as much life as they can into their performances. I definitely recommend looking into them
