Also the reason the show looks good is because the director of bocchi the rock is at the helm of this project Good directors make good shows, not studios
i cant believe for the first time ever a japanese show using a german word actually has a purpose because "frieren" quite literally means to be cold which is essentially her character
@@niel633 you just gotta wait and see, but it’s genuinely one of the most endearing fantasy works I’ve read. I think people who said it fell off was because they focused on the big emotional punch of the first couple of chapters and expected the series to carry the same sad and tragic tone, when it’s not exactly aiming for that
One thing that I love about Frieren so far is that some changes in characters are subtle and understated, like how Frieren doesn't like getting headpat cause she doesn't seem to understand the gesture at first, but starts doing it to Fern presumably subconsciously as a form of affection, which re-contextualizes how much Frieren's party really cared for her and saw her not really as this person who's had way more experience than them but almost as kind of a little sister who still has a lot to learn. Even her own teacher knew this fact about Frieren. Himmel knew too, which is why he wanted her to join them for the new year's celebration.
I'm a fighting anime type of guy. HxH, JJK, DBZ, Death Note, etc, those are my vibes. I totally thought i'd drop this after a few eps, but wow... WHAT AN ANIME! I still have absolutely no idea why I loved this anime. Binged in a day and a half. This is art. Pure art
Remember friends, life is a gift from the LORD and should be cherished to the fullest. We may not get to spend our entire lives with those we love, but all brothers and sisters in Christ will share a heavenly home together for eternity after our mortality passes.
German native speaker here: Your first pronunciation @00:30 was correct, just roll the R (which to my knowledge is not a thing in english so you might not be able to idk lmao) and it's perfect. Anyway Frieren sweep, AOTY, pure cinema. Good video
I've been reading the manga and was eagerly waiting for this adaptation and damn Mad House did not let me down with this one. It's actually how crazy beautiful everything about it is, from the visuals, to the animation, to the music, to the story. I've got to say, I think the anime so far has definitely surpassed even its source material, but the manga is of course still amazing. And damn... I wish that girl that wanted 12 kids with me and wanted to live on a 400 acre ranch in Montana was Frieren... why the fuck aren't elf girls real....
I can't believe i got bait-and-switched into watching a reasonably normal Fantasy RPG anime, just because it seemed like an almost stuffy character thing at first. It's usually the other way around.
This show is one of my top favorites of all time. I love how the anime shows but doesn't just tell you how the characters feel. The chemistry between people feels real. It was my favorite surprise anime of the year for me
I was trying to finish a couple of shows that I've had on my watchlist forever but now I'm gonna have to start watching Frieren because I can't stop seeing it everywhere 😭
Despite what my pfp implies, I virtually never watch anime, especially not what I think is called "seasonal anime". But, you made this sound very appealing, thank you!
This anime is great. I binged it the first 21 episodes. Only stopped watching because I needed to sleep. Pretty amazing character development and dynamics. The constant reminder of how time impacts everyone is always present.
The Frieren manga is absolutely wonderful, and the anime is definitely doing it justice. I am SO glad that they are adapting the series so well. This was definitely my most anticipated anime of the year, and it has definitely surpassed my expectations :)
🥰 what lovely and gentle review of what looks like a beautiful anime. ☝️ also, my heartstrings … they were tugged. I’m going through my own regrets and to hear about an immortals take, puts it into some perspective. 🙏 and Seize the Day 🥂
ive been all about those action animes etc, but after seeing the first 5 episodes of this... its becoming my favorite anime ive seen.. its so beautiful
How appropriate would you say this show is for younger kids, especially in terms of sexually explicit stuff? I only ask because anime in general seems to be a minefield for the explicit. Some even start off with a mild rating, then jump straight into "18+" territory (learned that the hard way with Sword Art Online... Yikes!)
Definitely not as explicitly as Sword Art, but there have been a couple of scenes that show some stuff. Nothing 18+ and the scenes in question are comedic in nature, but still you may just want to watch all the episodes first to make sure it's fine for kids.
There is basically no fan service in this show, except for a couple of scenes that COULD be taken out of context (like Fern trying to pull Frieren out of a mimic chest), but even with the small amount of blood in it, I would say this show is very kid friendly. If I ever have kids this would be the first anime I would watch with them : )
I just watch some of your video and it's really interesting commentary and good montage. Great work! However, I don't feel comfortable susbcribing because you litterary say thing like "I hate women" and "my dear incels". I don't know your real thoughts about it... but it's not clear if you are sarcastic. If you want your content to be more popular, I kindly suggest to refrain to do hate comments or support hate groups. Have a nice day and good luck with your channel.
Nothing relatable Nothing cultural No action Some weird characters No real world building Only a weird (good vibes) manhwa story The wholesome vibes are missig for me Some bonuses: German adjectivs as names (I see the adolf connection) Frieren = freeze, like the russians in the gulag Stark = strong, because he is strong
This show sad af be making me cry cause they have to deal with death and human loss from the point of view of an immortal,,,,like why even fuk with humans if you got to deal with that type stuff
I'm so glad that Frieren is getting more attention. The manga was so wonderful and beautiful and the anime was executed perfectly.
Also the reason the show looks good is because the director of bocchi the rock is at the helm of this project
Good directors make good shows, not studios
Is director tied to studio or not?

Didn't know that. Pretty cool detail.
and Stark means strong
@@capcap2563 Stand proud Stark, you are strong.
I don’t know how you do it but in 5 minutes you manage to sell a show that I didn’t know existed 5 minutes ago, bravo
People who said it fell off are lying to you. It only got better lmao.

It kind of fell off after Macht arc

1:04 the genre is travelogue a very underrated genre both in literature and in anime.

At this point in time we're at ep9, and it is phenomenal. The soundtrack and action scenes are going hard.
I don't know who told you that this story falls off. I am current in the manga and it has been banger after banger the whole time.

I might have to do an update video after this season ends
I just finished watching this and they could release a limited edition blu ray for $1,000 and I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Banger show
I liked your edit, its unique
Its called "frieren at the funeral"
I binged it in the last week before the last episode. It's the most epic and easily watch ever. 12/10 😊👍
I binged it all in less than 2 days, hahaha. I totally thought I was going to drop it after a few days, but man... WHAT A BEAUTIFUL STORY!
I don’t think it falls off at all
On the subject of kino and journeys, have you watched Kino's Journey?
I've seen the old version. Had an interesting look to it.
you should talk about flcl shoegaze and how its not worthless like flcl grunge
The problem with that is that I didn't like shoegaze either. Nowhere near as bad as grunge but still pretty mid
NUMBER 2 ON MAL
Does the show gets any action tho ? Like does it eventually have combat sum1 plzz tell me
Yes it's got a fair amount of action. Lots of fights with demons so far

@@CulturedCrusader Thanks.
There are a few darker moments with blood and death. Not for kids under 13 at the very least.

What would happen if Freiren's friends were immortal and Freiren was also immortal?
