Each were equally important to my path in metal. I will definitely agree Between Meshuggah’s Contradictions Collapse & Fear Factory’s Demanufacture albums those definitely battle for my most important albums of influence. Fear factory for getting me into rhythm’s & patterns. Meshuggah for their introduction to polyrhythms. The other 3 can be shuffled as ties for 3rd place.
@@harveytrevino2257 That's kinda how it was with me. Not so much about patterns and poly-rythms, initially. That music just hit me right and I went with it. Now I've been more about learning about different techniques and such, adding to the appreciation of the craft, whoever the band is. With that, it even got me to listen to bands that I couldn't get into back then and now have them in my general music playlist. Demanufacture has a place in my heart for sure but, my favorite has to be Obsolete. From that album I'd have to say that, even with my love for functional chaotic sound, Resurrection is my favorite track off that album. As far as Meshuggah, I first heard them with the album Nothing. That alone had me listening to everything they put out before. As of this day, I'm blown away by their progression over their 2 decades in music. Sounds just as chunky and complex as they have been. Masters of their craft, even as far as to say, in my opinion, they could be their own genre. Djent, sure but, they own it, hands down. Masters my friend. Sorry for the long winded response. Talking about metal in general puts me in a good mood. Oh yeah. The fact that Meshuggah have had the same members their whole career, I think. Not sure about the Contractions Collapse and None days. I wish that Meshuggah would go back to their Contradictions Collapse/None feel. More thrash with polyrhythms. But I get it, music has changed since then. Look at Vildjharta or Humanity's Last Breath, to a lesser degree, Invent Animate. So heavy in slightly different ways, but equally powerful in presence. ❤️ If I judged your Top 5, I'd be biased. Lol.. I'm way too critical of the bands I love.

How the time has gotten away from us. I still remember back in 1995 when demanufacture first came out and I was hooked to the music. Now I’m 43 still a metal head like always
So one day my friend and I went through his bulk, and we found a copy of metamorphosis. I was shocked, but sadly it was damaged... still amazing find though 😅
One of my all time favourite bands is Fear Factory but wish Id never met Dino, met him on 3 separate occasions. All spread years apart on 2 of those occasions he was nice but the 3rd and most recent one he was an arrogant douchebag.
