- As Autumn closes in, South East Mk2 Golfs presents The Dash Across The Downs 2. A Golf Mk2 Cruise through the South Downs National Park in the South East of England, jammed full of areas of outstanding natural beauty. Here, we take our classic VWs in convoy along some incredible world famous driving roads and jaw dropping back drops, including Beachy Head, Cuckmere Valley and Devil's Dyke. Also during the driving adventure we have great fun on a tunnel run. Hear the incredible exhausts and induction noises of the cars as they roar through!
Joining this Retro Volkswagen cruise are stunning examples such as:
Many Golf Mk2 GTIs, both GTI 8v and GTI 16v. ABF, ITBs, 1.8 20vt, R32 swapped Mk2s, a Mk2 Scirocco and Mk4 Golf 20vt track car!

After being dragged screaming and kidding to Gods waiting room (Bexhill on Sea) at the age of 17, its great to see the Sussex Downs again from down here in New Zealand. Many times I have driven those same roads on my Mk1 GTI Campaign and then my favourite car of all my Mk2 Sirocco GTX. Don't get me wrong I loved my Mk2 8V GTI too, but the Sirocco was just more fun. Probably because I young and single at the time. Great to see the Sirocco joining in.
Funny you say that, my own parents called Bexhill the place that God forgot! 😂
But the roads and scenery of the south downs are beautiful and easy to take for granted. Although..m I can imagine some of your roads in NZ are even more spectacular!
I do have a soft spot for a Scirocco, lower centre of gravity, rarer, just missing the 16v engine, but they do look great and they're more than welcome to attend our events.

Haha thanks! Spoilt for choice, having 3 VR6s of various guises. A 2.8 12v, a 2.8 24v and a 3.2 24v.

@@rickydub6950 we're often fortunate with the weather, but this must have been the only dry day for about 3 weeks. We absolutely lucked out!

Ah thank you! You definitely should! Find some picturesque roads, grab a few mates to tag along and enjoy the day out. It gives a real sense of freedom. Are there any decent spots near you that you can think of?
Right in my back yard (Eastbourne) too, on some of my fave roads 😎 At one point I was only a couple of hundred yards away from y'all, and I had no idea ☹ Fairly certain the red G reg (Hella covered main beams) went past me later in the day, coming back over Beachy Head. Great video 👍

We would yes. You'll have noticed there was a Mk4 1.8t present and also a Mk3 VR6. We're not overly precious, just so long as it's a relatively retro VW we're happy. 😁
