I love how we Finns just send something entertaining nowadays. Winning is secondary, entertaining the people is everything.

Yeah, the UMK doesn't allow any voice manipulation. So what you heard was Henri's real voice. I personally find it actually quite good🥰

@@JustESCAnalyst I expected because they were so creative. Jury might be more conservative, I hear that the exception was someone from UK who gave them 12 pts. Good they have 75% ponderation for popular vote

And No Rules was my favourite in the UMK, and voted for it, though like almost everybody else, I didn't expect it to win. It seems that the successful live performance was their ticket to victory.
And that is what people in Eurovision need :) the song is very catchy as well, so it is not only about performance.
With their provoking style, I see them repeating Croatian success from the last year 👌
Yes, it was. Many people went in thinking that they'd vote for someone else but changed their minds after the show.
Sexmane was another one whose show was a pleasant surprise.

About Henri's vocals...Henri is a voice actor, producer and also professional singer. But he is used to work in studios. At the UMK he was very nervous (specially in jury performance). On the big stage performing is totally different than working in the studio. Anyway, after UMK he has been able to work with a vocal coach. And Pre Parties have been a great chance to improve their live performances. Also Henri's vocals have improved.
Btw at this year's UMK, artists didn't get much help to their vocals. Autotune wasn't allowed etc. If I am right, they had to perform in the same way as they would perform in Malmö as well. That is the reason why Sara Siipola didn't win.
I will keep the fingers crossed, that Henri’s voice will not let him down and that the guys just smash the stage in Malmö with their energizing performance 👌

The meaning of him being almost naked and the jeans shorts descending: Windows95man has worked with that name for 10 years, already, and the very short denim shorts are his trademark. So this is an imaginary tale, how he was born from a denim egg, laid by a denim bird (here played by his vocalist, Henri, notice his jacket that looks a bit like the plumage of a bird). As a new-born Windows95man is naked, and doesn't know that he is supposed to wear trousers, so the cameramen and everybody on the stage do everything to block the view to his crotch. Finally, he gets his famous magic shorts, and the party starts.
This has also references to the Finnish national epic Kalevala, where the whole world and the universe was born from an egg. The denim boots that Henri wears, are covered with denim that is woven like the traditional Finnish footwear "virsut", which originally were made of birch bark. Then there is of course the message of the lyrics, that could be summarised "be what you are, and don't think about what other people say". So as you see, they have actually put quite a lot of thought to this performance. As a side plot the producer comes to show him the rules, which he throws away, because "No Rules".
Now the jeans make more sense! I really hope commentators will tell this story before their performance in the Eurovision semi-final/final 🙏

This song kind of reminds me of Gunther - Ding Dong Song and a bit of Zlad! - Elektronik Supersonik. 🤣
I guess for ppl that have no idea about this song and they gonna watch it for the first time in the SF or even final, this will be great and memorable. But for me the joke already wear off since the UMK final. And that is probably why it ranks so low for the fans. We all seen it multiple times.
Wish Mikael Gabriel and Nublu had won UMK with "Vox populi" tho, such a great song. Or Sara Siipola. Or even Sexmane.
Most people voting will never have heard any or most of the songs, or seen any performances, so it will be interesting to see how they will react. The fans are just a small part of the TV-audience. Others may be familiar with just their own entry, whom they can't vote. It will be interesting to see what happens!
