    I've got a spare side cover now thanks to Tom on a budget. Should I give it a go and drill it like the guys at the end of the video?

      I’d be interested to know the process of how you DIY the oil cooler ports on the stock clutch cover

    damn, (sorry for the language) but i said what i said, i'm from philippines, and most people here only own a small bike, im just surprised that even in your place you got small bike. it's just new to me because i'm used to watch YT channels only with big bikes. you got my sub. so inspiring.

    🇸🇬🇲🇾 fan here, cheers for sharing.
    Your success with your oil cooler significantly bringing down oil temps really tempting me to go get this MVR1 Oil Cooler that's designed specifically for my Yamaha FZ150i (aka Vixion in 🇮🇩)
    The bike engine's still stock, but i do use it for 6-12hr hard touring rides up West Malaysia. I've already installed an oversized radiator for it, adding an oil cooler's kinda overkill but it does make me feel good to know my ride's practically bulletproof for handling engine heat issues ;D

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  Před rokem +1

      YES! Great idea. The oil cooler really helps, and if it's specifically designed for your bike thats even better.

    Curious to hear how that story develops.
    With the higher temps you get in fresh New Zealand, I can see why so many Groms blow once their owners fit big bore kits. You're certainly doing it right with the dyno tune and monitoring the engine temps.
    Best of luck.

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  Před rokem +3

      Yeah I know of two people who did 143 kits - only the barrel and piston. No head work. Maybe a high lift cam and that's it. They both ran reflashed ECU's and ended up with melted pistons. I was deadset on doing the reflashed ECU route till my friend Kass that helped build the engine set me straight. Glad the tuning was done properly. I checked the plug the other day and it's looking great!

    Great video. If possible, I'd be tempted to fabricate a hanger to mount the cooler below the cylinder. This will work well with the standard oil pump as less pressure will be needed. Great looking kit, I've shat an FL125 Address (same bike). Hopefully just a tweaked valve, but I can't get to the bike until my covid has cleared up. Loved the video!

      Thanks for the comment! Just subscribed to your channel. Will take a look through the videos soon. I have considered a lower mount for the cooler but also do enjoy the ground clearance it has at present. We’ll see how it goes with more riding time!

    I don’t even know that you can buy a “vin waist” (motorcycle taxi) from Thailand, i heard that if you want one you have to “deal with” some local’s vin.

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  Před rokem +4

      Haha I found a shop in Bangkok that retails them. Only cost 500 baht I believe. I got English printed on the back instead of Thai - so I don't have the location or anything of where the vest is meant to be used. I also don't have a motorcycle taxi license on the velcro patches of course.
