      I would like to know if he didn’t have a physical body after loosing the ring what did he look like and how was he able to gather supporters. There was also another time he didn’t have a body which was when neumenor was destroyed. How did he reform a body? Why wasn’t he destroyed as there was no ring his life force was tied too. Do all Maiar have the ability to live without a body? Gandalf was “sent back” after dying but saurumon just died as did the balrogs. Why does Sauron have this unique ability to survive he physical body being killed multiple times??

      He is Maia . Essentially an immortal Spirit , and possessing great magic and cunning he recreated his form. But , because of his diseased spirit , he eventually lost the power to appear in beautiful or noble form , and appeared as a Dark Lord and eventually The Eye . Along with his last great magics , his Essence was tied to The Ruling Ring and upon it's destruction , his works were undone and his spirit scattered/destroyed .
      Hope that helps .👍🍻

      @@antoniehm87He was originally and essentially an immortal spirit that was around at the Beginning with , and created by , the Mind of Illuvitar and , as such , imbued with great power . Rather than thinking of Sauron and Gandalf as beings who would die if their physical bodies were destroyed , think of them as Spirits , who created physical bodies for themselves to interact with other physical beings , like Elves and Men , etc. If you have not , read The Silmarillion .
      Imho , it is even better than LOTR , and you can't get higher praise than THAT !
      So they return to their actual forms rather than dying .

    It always proves that evil is never defeated but must be fought generation by generation.
    The monster is never dead, even when the hero is done.
    When the fight is over for the time being, the good men who have thrown evil down must build a future that is good.
    And so must we.
    When we have thrown down the evil that plagues us.

    30:10 Correction, Sauron's master plan to corrupt the Elves was an abject failure, so he tried to save some remnant of his original plan, and dolled out the elven-rings to the other races to see if maybe he could get some percentage of return on his investment. It mostly failed with the Dwarves, but was a resounding success with Mankind.

    In addition to being a great reformer who would bring law and order in a scenario of cultural decay after the War of Wrath, I think Sauron saw himself as a Promethean figure who would lift Humanity out of cultural prehistory and technological ignorance: The Silmarillion says that the men of the East and South built cities of stone and had access to metallurgical knowledge.

      It should also be noted that we learn Sauron’s “story/motives etc” from the side of his enemies. All he wanted was to bring order to a chaotic world. He would lift all races up and banish the darkness of ignorance from their eyes and bring about true peace! The only reason he ruled with an iron fist is because he understood the other races lacked the will to govern themselves. For the time being free agency would have to be removed. All hail our wise master Sauron!

    • @FEARSWTOR
      @FEARSWTOR Před 4 měsíci +2

      That's what I don't get. Tulkas could literally punch Sauron into oblivion without a thought even after having fought Melkor; he's just that strong. The only justification for the Valar not outright killing Sauron is that either they wanted him to purge Eru's "mistakes" from the world, or they were told not to interfere by Eru because Eru wanted motrals to be purged.

    • @Kevin-jb2pv
      @Kevin-jb2pv Před 4 měsíci +4

      @@FEARSWTOR I always thought the reason was because when the Valar went to war directly with Melkor, the crossfire basically turned most of the world into a wasteland from all the destruction. You know, after the Valar finish fighting at full strength the world winds up looking like Townsville after the Powerpuff Girls finish fighting Mojo Jojo. AKA utter destruction/ 99.999% collateral damage.

    Anyone know how the Maiar like Sauron or the Balrogs were able to walk the earth presumably unchecked in their power, while the Astari had to be sent with limitations and for a specific mission? Is this a difference between the First Age and the later ones? Or why was Morgoth, a Valar for that matter, allowed to visit the mortal realm (again unchecked in power)?

    • @Magere-Kwark
      @Magere-Kwark Před 3 měsíci

      The Maiar like Sauron and the balrogs came to Arda (Middle-Earth) on their own account with the sole purpose to dominate the world with their evil so their powers went unchecked.
      Then somewhere in the third age the actions of those roque Maiar resulted in a situation where there HAD to be intervened by the Ainur or else the dark plans of Morgoth and Sauron would have been successful. But the solution of sending more Maiar into Arda to fix the mess of some other maiar has its obvious flaws so they made sure their powers couldn't be used to actually lead or dominate the free people and were solely there in an advisory role.
