This is a truly great achievement! Congratulations to Payal Kapadia and all the actresses and actors in the movie! It is the first Indian film to win one of the top two prizes in Cannes, and it is a huge recognition on a global scale. I don't think many Indians even recognize what a great achievement this is.
Not just actor and actresses but also screenwriter, cinematographer, editor and all the artist 😀

I live in the UK, and it has been big news here in the British and international media. Strangely, I find much less coverage of this in the Indian media! That's why I feel the Indians and Indian media don't really seem to understand the magnitude of this achievement at an international level.

This is actually big win and Indian media should cover them instead of Aishwarya Rai and now so called influencers too who go there every year only thinking its a fashion show and not Film festival...
Well, with how distribution works, most Indians in INDIA won't ever have access to watch this film. So it makes sense that their attention is on the dresses because it's ACCESSIBLE.
@@91toinfinitywell that's actually not true mubi India (and sometimes Netflix too, like disciple) buys many of these festival films after they do festival circuit. Also Film buffs can find from torrent too. So they can watch it. It's matter of intention of media all other reasons are bs.

An Indian who won in Cannes for a so called Indian film and still Indians are not allowed to see in India. Then how can it be a Prize Winner for India ?? Just because someone who was born or lived in India doesn't mean it will represent India unless Indians are allowed to see it and comment / vote for it ??
