As a foreigner and ex trainee, Kpop industry is the worst for this case. If you are not fluent in Korean you are looked down on or not taken seriously, your just seen and referred to as “that foreigner”. Korea is definitely not the place for foreigners. I would continue education, I’m glad I did I graduated with a brain full of knowledge not insecurities which is what being a trainee does to you.
There is social media now like tiktok and youtube, so you do not need a company! If you need a company to lift your career than you are not independent.

The fact that I know I'm terrible at singing, dancing and rapping but still dreams of being a kpop idol in the future. I want to improve, just don't know how to. I love videos like these, it encourages you even more. But growing up, the only thing on my mind is being an idol but now I'm doubting. I have no idea what other job will suit me.😢😢
I am also bad at singing but i am trying to rap and dance and i must say that i have improved my rapping skills like in 6 mins i learned typa girl rap and shoong lisa rap .
I am good at shut down rap ,tomboy soyeon rap and learning more.

Honestly, I have auditioned for four company’s in the past and was accepted into one. But I quit. I didn’t quit my dream I quit Kpop idol life. I finally understood why my mother was against this. While my father was against singing career in general, my mother was just worried because she knew all about trainee system, harsh practise and struggles / pressures of being an idol.
Pursing my dream of singing outside of Kpop is going much better for me and I’m glad I didn’t go against my mother because this career I have now she supports.
Anyone wanting to be Kpop idol I wish you best of luck, if you don’t have supporting parents for a different reason then keep following your dreams and live your own life, make your own choices ❤

Ya, its true that their is only 50 -50 chance to be idol but with your hopes and practice you can acheive every thing what you want, so don't be worried , just chill and focus on your dream. I know its hard but we can do it , just think its a very easy thing to learn 😅😅
The thing is I'm great at singing,dancing and my rapping is above average my visuals are 70%,but I never asked my parents about being being an idol as,I know they wouldn't agree bcuz of the society.I personally don't feel like auditioning for a company bcuz I am scared that I wont be able to do it even if I get selected...

It's a dream od mine to become a kpop idol but my father wont let me go anywhere. Treats me as if im younger then I actually am. I understand the worry it might cause him but being a singer is sowmthifn ive wanted to do since I was 5 years old.

I also sometimes rap but the fastest rap I know is Jennie D4 English version and I don't do dance cause I don't have time and space to do... I used to dance before but I have quited it 3-4 months ago... But I still learn some kpop choreos which are in trend...

The fact that I am an Arab and a Muslim and my mom is strict and I am 13 years old I am not the best at singing but I am really really good at dancing and every one told me that . And my mom do support me at dancing but lam actually doing an online jyp a audition behind her back and I know if I got accepted by any chance she will be so mad at me . I told my sister and she told and if you got accepted we will talk about it.

To everyone in the comment section, getting into kpop and being a kpop fan for a few years does not mean that you want to give up your own life to follow what you see, trust me I wanted that too but as time passed I realized that it's not what I want to do with my life.
Do you want to give up living with your parents while you have the chance to? Do you really think that even if you become an idol you would be able to live happily with your parents? No
Do you really want to waste all the money your parents have earned by working day and night for you to receive education so that you can just throw that away?
If you're non-east asian you can't have a successful career, and I know you're thinking about all those indian, russian and african idols, but no, they aren't successful, their only popular, and that doesn't mean successful.
Think about it do you want to waste your parents dreams for something that's not your dream but only something that "an era" of your teenage and early kpop phase
Also how would you feel if someone not from the same country and race as you were to start getting into your industries?

What dancing classes do you reccomend? I plan to audition in like 1-2 years and I want to start training with a teacher. I just started taking high heels lessons this year but they are only once a week. I don't want to do hip hop cause its not really feminine tho...

Hey my father says that your can chase your dream if you have a plan B in your dream and if you have the right to follow your dream.
Right means if you are eligible for it. He says that if you have talent you can but he didn't let me to go to a k-pop company because I am a normally a bad hip hop dancer but I got accepted in a company because I had good vocals with soo sweet and clear voice. Soo, what to do ? Should I reduce my weight and improve my dance skills and then audition a company? Or go to the company secretly without my dad's permission?

I gave my online audition at jyp secretly. it's been 3 weeks i gave and i got a email that saying they already saw my video😊but haven't decided if i can be trainee. But they told me they will notify me in month if i got selected. Then i will tell my parents about it. I think they will accept it .an after that i have to go korea with one of my parent or relative. And they will pay my fly ticket .plz pray for me it's my dream❤❤
