- We found these two Herberts hanging around outside, so we invited them in…
Welcome to the show! It is our great pleasure to welcome our wonderful friends Lee [The Captain] Anderton and Peter [Danish Pete] Honoré to Schwangri-La!
No agenda - they’re simply here to take over and do whatever they want. Thus, they pick out a bunch of stuff and explore some sounds and concepts. And we couldn’t resist subjecting them to full TPS Wet-Dry before the end. Hahaha!
Massive thanks to the guys for taking the time to come and visit - a total pleasure to have them here!

Such a great day and again thank you for having us and thank you for all the nice comments on here💜. (Ps. Now I need that CXM1978, soooo good man, wow)
So lovely to see you mate, and always awesome to hear you play 🤗🙏
"it needs to be able to take it in the front end" You two need to do guitar standup. Much love
Stellar playing Pete! The fella’s should let you cut loose in there more often.
"playing with myself which I so often do" 😂
@@hiflyingpigs I caught that one too 🤣🤣🤣
Ahhhh thank you for inviting us!! You’ve got such a cool place down there. It’s bucket list stuff getting to hang out. Can’t wait to have you back in Guildford. ❤❤❤
Delighted to finally have you both down and can’t wait to head over to your place for some reciprocal fun/shenanigans 🤗
@@ThatPedalShow opposite day take over!
@@ThatPedalShow Can't wait for the return leg! Do you have a theme yet? How about a head-to-head putting together a board to get some of Pete's and Lee's amazing tones from this video? Say part 1= £1500 budget to cover guitar and pedals. To make it harder imagine it's for a venue who say "Do not bring amps, performers must use stage monitors and house speakers provided. Guitar to go into either 1) their house amp (a small 15W blackstar valve 8" combo in a mic'd enclosure using an SM57) or 2) their own XLR DI (probably something cheap like a Mooer Micro DI) but you can bring your own alternative DI if you want to use some of your budget on that. For part 2 same brief but a larger budget say £3.5k and a separate £1000 budget for an amp after you beat the venue into submission. However they say the amp has to be readily carryable by one person up a flight of stairs during changeover.
It’s really impressive Lee’s comment of a kid in a candy store. He literally owns the store lol and still feels overwhelmed when getting at tps! What a great show!
That was my very first thought, seeing his excitement at entering the room, and considering the volume and variety of equipment that he's around all the time. Very telling. The difference between a curated collection and a warehouse.
Haha, damn right!
He only stocks things that are currently in production and fashionable......
He must have loved the pressure being taken off so he could nerd out without having to worry about stakeholders and stuff.
I’m like this in every good guitar store 😂
Pete is the master of innuendo and dirty jokes...and Lee left him hanging every time. 🤣
Everytime!!! 😂
I’m sniggering like a schoolboy and wondering if after prolonged exposure Lee is now immune😂
I can't believe Lee didn't finish him off!
Yeah the double entendres were flyin'.
And were typically ignored. Haha
Damn! Pete’s playing throughout this episode is just so effortless!
He’s awesome isn’t he!?
Always thought he sounds better through a Strat :)
Pete's one of the best CZcams guitar players IMO. So tasteful yet he's got big chops.
@@ThatPedalShow as lee and josh Scott once said "yea mediocre...maybe like a 4 out of 10"
@@ThatPedalShow A Pete x2 show would be great to see, Danish Pete and Pete Thorn. Just a couple hours of them jamming on all the gear they can find.
Pete rockin' Mick's strat totally just made my day.
I just want to say, I've been going through a really tough time the last couple of months. As you two (D&M) know, my Pedal Dog, Olly, passed away a couple of weeks ago but on top of that my 80 year old grandmother broke her arm, my uncles cancer came out of remission and is much worse than it was previously, my partner has been out of a job so we've been struggling financially, I had a case of the shingles (which, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy! So ruddy painful!!!) and my little sister is really struggling at secondary school with bullying.
But this, today, has made me get up, out of my computer chair, and go and play some guitar with my amp turned on, and kick some ruddy effects pedals on! And I think that's just about the highest compliment I can give this video. So thanks to you two, Dan and Mick, and thanks to Pete and Lee. Great video.
Good luck mate and keep going.
Stay strong brother, sending love and positivity to you and your family.
Much love. You are never alone.
Keep pushing through, positive vibes from me. Feel like I know you from the monday streams, and hope things improve. Glad this got you playing.
I don’t know why life sometimes throws all the punches at once to us, but it sucks when that happens. I feel for you. I understand the pain. My best wishes. I hope things somewhat improve for you. Music can be a good medicine. Keep playing.
3 minutes in and I'm shocked how effortlessly perfect Pete's playing is....
Love these guys. One of the biggest pleasures of the world of CZcams guitar has surely been watching Lee improve? He's SO good now!
Completely under rated - he's turned into a melodic monster
Not many CZcams guitarists can match Lee’s progression over the past however many years it’s been. Bit of an inspiration to us slightly more “vintage” players that you’re never too old to learn.
Ok, boomer.
@@stanknugget Hey Stank, you ok buddy?
@@jakesdaddy08 Ok, boomer.
@@jakesdaddy08 He seems sad and tedious :(
Take it as a compliment, most of these guys give up before reaching boomer status!
The chemistry between these two is rare. When you get 3 or 4 guys together for a jam and this happens it' magic! Makes your whole week! And if you are blessed enough to put a band together with this chemistry you're golden.
Wish I could channel more of Pete's relaxed state of flow in my playing, so laid-back and tasty, looking forward to the rest of this 👌
The key is not to think about anything and just let your hands do the stuff.
Might need to smoke some.
Me too Danny!
He was in great form in this!
It's always nice to see the Rear Admiral and Flemish Bob.
I think that is the most relaxed playing I’ve heard from Lee playing on his own. Inspiring tones can really help you let go and play.
I could listen to Pete play all day.
Pete's joy and excitement is so contagious! A big thank you to all you guys for continuing to do this well for so long.
The Hot Cake is one of the best hidden gem pedals of all time. One of my favorite drive sounds ever.
This has to be one of the best tasteful jams I've ever seen Pete and the Captain do together. Major props to the Captain for his playing. He's really gotten so good.
That’s what happens when you hangout with a dude as gifted on guitar as Pete .choose your company wisely.
Next episode, Dan and Mick pair with Digital John for a blind multi fx shootout 😉😂
Great episode here 😊
Just the kind of nonsense I needed after a challenging week
The Lee and Pete dynamic is ADHD teen and the worlds coolest dad
Beautiful tones through out including my 1953 Pro Amp! Thank you Dan, Mick, Pete and Lee for helping me hear what I’m aiming for when I pick it up again at the June Experience Day. I got a lot of practice to do 😊
Firstly, Pete is a magician. Wow.
Also, what a fun episode to just bring these two guys in here and let them mess around and have fun for a few hours. It wouldn't work every week, but every once in a while just having good musicians explore sounds with no other agenda is pretty damn cool.
Love Pete's playing and his one-liners: " It's always better, when it's Spread-a-bit " - really enjoyed this today. All 4 of you !!!
That strat straight into the 5e3 Tweed Deluxe with a bit of reverb is sooo good!
Just realised it is a Pro w a 15" speaker.
A bit beefier in the low end from the amp abd the speaker.sweet
Wow, that last Jam by Lee is incredible!
Pete as always sublime
I love both shows it was great to see these 2 on TPS!!!
These two should have their own CZcams show. Maybe even have a place where I can buy some of the gear they used.
They already have one...
@@dank3435 Well done figuring that one out.
Wouldn’t work unless they had merch advertising it. 😂
@@dank3435 r/whoosh 😂
😂😂😂😂
One of the best episodes in a long time. Please have them back again soon.
Over the many years watching TPS and Andertons on YT I thought that I was watching to see more gear, but I've learned that its the friendships y'all have that kept me tuning in. I may still covet the gear now and again, but it brings me joy to see relationships like Mick, Dan, Pete, and Lee. That I may covet most. Always a pleasure watching your show.
BTW as a few happy comments have come up about the 1953 Pro Amp since Dan & Mick featured the amp in their videos…
I got it from ”Strum” in Portland, Oregon before relocating back to the UK. Strum is like a relaxed bar/coffee shop that happens to adorn it’s walls with vintage guitars and a plethora of vintage amps at one end of the bar. The owner is a lot more relaxed about having such gear and beer for sale in close proximity than I would be ☺️ Cool place to visit if you pass near the old town area of Portland. I want to give a shout out to Matthew Miller too. He is the wonderful gentleman and amp guru in Portland old town area who serviced the amp straight after taking it from Strum. He pops up in some gear forums when people are looking for support in PDX. Matt advised it was clearly a good workhorse and he didn’t tweak much to ensure it will keep going for many more decades to come. Strum advised the amp was reputedly a machine being used weekly up and down the US before ending up as a house amp in a Portland club and finally being given up by previous owners. So despite what Pete commented in this video regarding reliability, like a well worn but seriously loved guitar, this amp and original 15” speaker just keeps on belting those tunes out. Thanks to strum and Matt Miller for their expertise and care in passing on this fab piece of history. I’ll be sure to treat it well until it’s next owner takes custody in what I hope will be the distant future. Cheers to tone 🍻
Thanks for the narrative - fascinating! I had a sneaky feeling that if it was well serviced, it would be far more robust than the Matchless, even. (Reminds me [cosmetically], too, of my late 50s Princeton, my first ever amp I got as a teenager in the mid-70s for CDN$40. ... Sadly, long since long gone...)
loved this - here's an idea... how about Dan and Mick return the favour and go to Andertons and video trying out a bunch of brand new gear from Andertons :)
Mick would hate new gear 😉
@@jeffwithajay42 excellent that would result in a flash sale 75% price slash on all new gear while stocks last :D
Pete just straight showing off!!! My word!!!
I think this worked so well because it took lee and pete away from the ‘sales/promotion’ environment and they could just enjoy being guitar players
Yes Lee speaking without his corporate head on was refreshing. Obviously he can't do that at Andertons HQ
After a physically tough day and an emotionally ripping couple of weeks, this was like sweet nectar, laughter an’tone medicine for my soul. Thank you all 🙏🏼
It's amazing how Pete and Lee have transcended Andertons. They could start their own channel and they'd still be just as funny.
A recon Peter has found true love at last. Fun show fellas. 🏴👍👍👍🥃Respect to you fellas.
Lee's tone of that SG into the Matchless is phenomenal! Love the Matchless, holy grail amp for sure.
Pete (very subtle); "I love a three-way" (switch), "I play with myself (guitar) all the time", "The amp needs to take it in the front end!", Dan has a MASSIVE P....edalboard"!, "Everybody loves a maiden..."!😀
I just got to play along with Pete and Lee, thank you very much. best video ever!!! watching this from milton nh in usa..thanks for sharing this, love all 4 of you guys. great people
Mick's strat is one of the best I've ever heard! Very fun episode boys!
Ha! It is when Pete plays it. :0)
Best episode EVER!!! Just to see the Anderton's boys out of their element was priceless:) Thank you all for showing camaraderie and respect for each other as we, the guitar guys, love all of you for the wealth of information you bring to us on regular basis.... You are awesome!!!
that 61 strat into the kingsley preamp was heavenly. record worthy in my ears.
Pete's comedy was on another level today! Of course, his playing is always on another level.
I haven't picked up a guitar for a few months, after sustaining some severe injuries to my left hand. But after hearing that first jam, I think it's time to get started again. THANK YOU.
So so good. And hey, Pete went from a 3 way to a duet with Captain to playing with himself all in the course of one video. My man!
What a perfect episode! Still has the TPS vibe, showcases your guests at their best. And a peek behind the scenes of Lee and Pete's chemistry. Never mind some of The Captain's tastiest playing. Danish Pete gifting us with so many great licks too. Well done to all!
He's always been very generous with his licks etc. (Am I doing this right?)
Pete's ability to riff all over the neck immediately on any guitar he ever picks up without ever looking down never ceases to amaze me.
Your guests played so well together, and Peter Honore with that Strat and the old amp!
Awesome. My two go to channels. For inspiration. Pedal advice. Tone advice and problem solving. And mainly the reason my rig no longer fits in my local pub at gigs. So all 4 of you in the next one please.
I love when Pete reminds everyone about TPS' policy of not talking over reverb/delay trails 🤣
This was great. Love seeing D&M bring the boys over for a guitar play date. Do more of these!
I like how they're like kids in a toy store at the beginning
Its nice when guitar/pedal mates share their stuff and have fun playing!!
I didn't know you could get a Danish Pete without a looper, that's an interesting option.
Twas glorious; now D&M go take over Andertons 😊
Mick, Dan, Pete and the Captain are a dreamteam, honestly. I absolutely loved this episode!
That was great! The captain seemed like a kid at his first gig at first and could feel him get more comfortable as time went on. Pete just like the kid at the candy store. Really enjoyed it.THANKS LEG-ENDS !
TPS really owns the space that begins at almost exactly the point where Lee says “Anyway…” and wants to move on to the next thing. That’s where normal TPS gets going. And thank goodness for it. Always good to see other people experience the proper noise - Pete was in his element.
Didn't expect this. Fun times! Thanks chaps. Pete, it's time you get an album out. Out of this world playing.
Great seeing the guys out of their element and exploring the cave of wonders at TPS secret base. As the musical Magi Dan would say; "Righteous". Winning!!! 👍🔥🎸🎼🙏
Pete always has good tone, but man that 61 straight into the Fender amp was heavenly! When I hear playing like that I can't decide if I should practice, or just sell all my gear and listen.
I do love love how they basically picked a dan and mick rig right off the bat and even pick the correct sides
That was loads of fun! Thanks to all of you for making it happen, and hopefully we will see more of the four of you together on screen soon!
Love having both of these worlds collide once again!!!!!
Lovely performance, Wetton sounds amazing. Love how Leslie feels every beat and when she takes the lead she is so tight rhythmically. You can see how much they have learnt from KC but then taken it on in their own material.
I don't think I've ever seen the DB meter go that high??? I think Lee hit 110! Those two are so much fun - like an old married couple. Pete is such a monster - Andertons (and the Internet) is lucky to have him.
Louder than Biffy Clyro I think.
Not louder than drummer Dougie.
I'm just in...The Captain (and the earlier side kick) was the first guitar gear related CZcams posts I watched. He is my direct connection to and why I watch TPS. I never used to pay attention to "gear" until I found you all. A blessing and a curse. Thanks and thanks.
I was highly looking forward to this upload since it was announced a few weeks ago. It did not disappoint, what a great show. Thank you all.
How good is that....off the charts...
I don't exactly know why but for me this video is like a breath of fresh air! It's just a joy to watch Pete and Lee mess with your extravagant collection and just have a great time)) Thank you!
The collaboration we didn’t deserve.
Thank you
It was fun watching Lee and Pete acting like kids in great music shops! However, it made me appreciate Dan and Mick even more. Even thought they have fun making the show, there is a rapport between them that is so smooth and professional without being too slick. It’s rather addicting.
Mick! They're talking over the reverb trails!! Can't take them anywhere... 😂
What an awesome mash-up! Pete's playing is truly inspiring, and his years of experience really shines in this setting! The problem is, Pete makes it look so effortless, and yet that's far from the case. Mick, Dan, kudos to you for setting this up!
Fun to see these guys just jamming with whatever they want. Loved the intro playing.
I love it when my favourite CZcams channels do collabs. This is absolutely no exception🙂
I bought a Nash S-57 strat-shaped object. It's a boutique guitar. When I took off the pickguard, I was somewhat surprised to find that the cavities were unshielded. I was very surprised to find that the wires coming from the pickups were also unshielded. I guess that's the way they did things in 1957. Since I don't like 60 cycle AC hum, I shielded all the cavities with copper foil tape. It made the single coils completely silent, even at high gain. I did not notice any difference in the tone other than the very low noise floor. Since my Les Paul Classic also has single coil mode (split coils) I shielded all the cavities in that guitar as well. That greatly reduced the noise floor in split coil mode, and was even a little quieter in humbucker mode.
What a funny and heart-warming video - well done TPS and Andertons 🙂
Great playing , Great banter , great idea for a TPS presentation.
Pete copping a Mick riff and then looking over at him made me smile.
That DC30 is just magic!!! Lee 's board 1 was just right...The Hot cake boost, a quality reverb and delay and you are done really. Anything else just lessens the magic. It is almost an instrument in its own right.
Pete's tone is awesome 👌
What a fun TPS episode! As always, Pete sounds awesome. What a treasure he is. But, for me, the biggest surprise of the show was Lee’s playing. When he let it rip on Dan’s yellow Tele (Butters?), I was blown away! Thanks,TPS. And thanks to Pete and Lee for guest hosting. I hope they’ll be back.
Pete and Lee’s Experience Day. 😂 Great fun!
Awesome! Man, Danish Peter is REALLY GOOD and Lee sounds awesome!
Such a great show & love the chemistry found with the different amps by Danish Pete & Captain Anderson
Pete has the biology. Lee has the physics. But they have some much chemistry. Nothing matches how natural they are together. Love it!
Danish Pete with the 61 Strat and the Mesa 50:50 w/Mesa 2X12 EV cab....Tone like that conquers time.
that SG is awesome, Mick and Dan have some amazing guitars.
That was fun!
""It has to be capable of taking it in the front end." Quote of the decade. Well done all... for surviving!
Fantastic show, and proof (if it were needed) that inspiring rigs bring out the best playing. I don't think I've heard the Captain play that fluidly or fluently and that's because this stuff inspires you in a different way. Some wonderful tones, and of course that TPS spirit and vibe that gets in your bones.
That was epic fun! Sound of the day? Pete chords in w/d/w stereo harmonious monk and reverb. Oh my word. A gift for my brain.😍
The amount of adhd in this video is overwhelming... in a good way.
What a treat to be able to play through "new" (to the player) gear..... Revelations! Wonderful guys.
What an amazing episode, two of my favorite UK guitar based channels doing a SuperFriends team up! You know TPS has serious gear when the owner of a preeminent guitar shop is geeking out over all the stuff in their studio.
Oh boy this was great! We need more of the Captain and Pete in a setting like this where they can remove their hats of professional gear reviews focused on highlighting the products they sell for potential customers and just have fun for the sake of it. I could feel a total different vibe. Kudos to Dan and Mick for making this happen!
This just made my day! Thank you all. Now Dan and Mick must go do the same for Andertons.
great to see when legends come together as friends and enjoy sound.
