Let’s have a moment of silence to mourn the loss of mystics voice
That station is 2 to 3 blocks from where I live, but would be closer by only a block if they reopened the Willoughby Avenue entrance.
Wait a minute I see two abandoned entrances on both platforms
Both entrances lead you to Marcy Avenue and Willoughby Avenue.
The Concourse Line has many stations with closed entrances, you should check those out
Yeah I have some of those stations on my list for this series.
@@MysticTransitThe MTA needs to reopen those entrances, they still serve a purpose
Fordham rd IND station has forgotten entrances
2:45; That graffiti with a "G" logo looks fly and downright cool.
I operate on the G line often, so there's tons of abandoned entrances there! You can make you series about the G from there!!
They need to go back to 6 cars, the G line be sooo crowded. My brother takes the G every morning at around 4am and it’s crowded. I used to take the G train when the J and M not going over the Willy B and it be so crowded. Make them run 6 to 8 cars
This is a cool idea! Not as “glamorous” or “exciting” to cover as abandoned stations, but definitely interesting! Also the idea of covering abandoned entrances - and how they might be used again - is fairly unique to the transit CZcams sphere.
Next, could you check out the closed staircase at the 7th Avenue stop for the B and Q
Beyond capacity, I think it’s worth noting that Myrtle-Willoughby is the closest station for much of the central area of Bed Stuy that isn’t particularly close to any train line. Making the station even two blocks closer would make it a lot more accessible. It would save me a few minutes off my walk
The original 96 St exit at 96 St-Broadway (1)(2)(3) would be an interesting topic to cover on this series
Ha I worked at Wine-o around the corner from this closed entrance. I always wondered what happened…
1:48; If you pause it at that moment, you will see a blue wooden box at the corner of the apartment from Marcy and Willoughby Avenues because that is represented the other exit of the "G" train that has been closed since the 1990s.
North of this station, Flushing Avenue also has a closed exit at Walton Street. Broadway also has some interesting closed areas too.
1:28; Before the fleet of R-160 "G" trains, there are a few R-46 and R-68 "G" trains which have four cars because the R-160 model has only five cars.
1:48 that blue box across the street next to the store is the closed entrance to the station, for a couple years has been like that
I saw that new ZOHO Wrap on the E last month
Nice video, are you sick? You sound a little congested, hope you feel better, also you should do Broadway junction next.
This is so cool! Reminds me of the goose chase of me trying to find the 163rd Street entrance on the 163rd Street Amsterdam Ave station. I didn't see it XD
You should check out the Ralph Avenue station on the A and C line where the Howard Ave exits are closed.
The Concourse and Crosstown lines probably got the most closed exits
Here's something interesting Nostrand Ave station on the Fulton St line (A/C) once had an abandoned passage way but they reopened it in 2015
I don't like how the beams all along the Crosstown line were repainted the same green. The variety of colors they used to have was more interesting.
Same thing goes for the QBL: I remember when 67 St and Woodhaven Blvd both had red beams, 63 Dr had yellow, and 46 and 36 Sts had red. Not sure if Steinway St still has yellow beams.
The IND stations were traditionally color coded by each express station getting a different color, and each group of local stations sharing that color. Since the crosstown line has only local stations, there's no need to change the color.
@@collinparsons3363 The Fulton St line still does this, unless they've been repainted too.
i wish they would reopen it, i live right on the block you went to and it would save me a few extra minutes if the entrance was still open.
Check the CPW/Eight Avenue lines. There are MANY stations with closed entrances.
The abandoned DeKalb Avenue exit at the Kosciuszko Street J station puzzles me, and I would like to hear about it. It's near the south/westbound B38 and would be close to the start/end of the B46 SBS.
Definitely wanna see more of these
Nice. Can't wait to see where this series goes.
nice!
This a cool idea for a series!
There's plenty of actually forgotten (not clearly visible) station exits.
i went to elementary school next to the willoughby entrance, lol😭 never expected a video about this station
Can you do the old neck road Brighton/lirr entrance at the corner of East 16th street and Gravesend neck road? It’s easier to access if you have a drone though bc it’s kind of hard to see most of it
I’ll research it a bit and consider it for a video.
Please make a video on the Polo Grounds (155 8th Ave) station cause I’m pretty sure there are plenty of closed exits and entrances!
Also I stumbled upon a closed exit/entrance at 145th on the A line at the 147th st exit!
Nice man
Wonderful video plus I wonder how this series goes well 2:59
How about the closed 175th Street Entrance at 174th-175th Streets station on the B & D in Mount Eden in The Bronx?
But that station north entrance is a block from Flushing Ave on the south end. The Closed north end of Flushing Ave has a crossover but one of the stairs are sealed at Flushing. The G line has alot of closed exits like Van Alst, Broadway and Metropolitan(Grand St)
Can you do Winthrop Street?
Should’ve done Broadway Junction
That's on my list.
Yeah I’ve been wondering about that exit on the J platform.
more like forgotten subway memories 🙂
Part of the reason for the closing of certain station exits was definitely because of the crime. Being born and raised in bed-stuy Marcy Ave was wild during the crack epidemic. Even when moving out to Bushwick from the stuy back in 98’ the stuy was still wild and so was Bushwick but it was better than the early 90s and 1980s. Mofos was getting mugged everyday in those hoods. The (A) on Liberty Ave el section through ozone park also had certain exits closed & so does the (J) along Broadway.
Are u sick? Get better soon.
Double upload though!
any evidence on 65th's 63rd st entrance?
Can you do 182nd and 183th station on B and D train 💯
Some of the Concourse Line stations are on my list for videos in this series.
Is bro sick
Wouldn’t be “forgotten” if the G had 10 cars 😂
Why would the G need to be 10 cars long when its ridership is lower than the other Jamaica Yard routes?
@@CLBT7437 I’m just saying, when I take the G, it’s so dark on the south end and the train doesn’t stop on the south part, I barely see the entrances exist. I’ve been on G Trains between Hoyt and Met-Lorimer and it’s very crowded, but every station in between (maybe except Fulton and Bed-Nost) is barely used by anyone
@nodog1961 Oh, it's crowded. I know. But if we ran full-length trains at the current frequencies, they would be empty. This is usually the case on an F train when it runs via Crosstown.
closed entrances are sad and unnecessary. Let everyone have easier access and the subway would be used more frequently
Isn’t it illegal to visit abandoned stations in New York?
He just showed what can be seen through the fence.
