So lovely to see you breathing books out in the fresh air. 🤩
Wonderful to see Katie as the mystery guest!
This was great! So good to see Katie! Thanks, Shawn!
Love listening to Katie talking. I have her first book and might read it this month.
Weather here has been awful, rain, wind and cold.
Wow! Katie is so right saying that for a publisher the fact that a book is good is a small consideration. Of the 20 rejections I have received in recent months, only one mentioned the quality of the work. The rest of them said that "this project is not right for our list at this time,:" or something to that effect. Thank you, Katie. Thank you, Shawn.
How wonderful to see Katie and hear about her new book. It was so interesting hearing how being an editor and writer helps her in both fields. She’s very inspiring. I didn’t think I’d like Soldier, Sailor and Lindy, Sonja and you have confirmed that thought!
Can’t wait to read Katie’s book!! Checks all the boxes for me 👍
It’s been miserable here. Average temperature is 12 degrees and it hasn’t stopped raining.
Is the Empress of Bailing back?
Loving that blouse 🥰😍
Scoop: I bailed too. 😂
I bailed on Soldier Sailor too.
Gorgeous blouse ❤😘
I read Soldier, Sailor could not relate at all, I have 2 children in their 40's. I did finish it only because it was a short read
I bailed on Soldier Sailor too.
I had a lot of sympathy for all the feelings this mother is going through.
But more than halfway through the book, I definitely got the point and I was looking for more depth and reflection.
I also have no problem with unlikable protagonists and this one has some really awful things to say. Unfortunately some of it felt really unnecessary for the story and I couldn't get rid of the feeling, that she would say these things as well, if she wouldn't be in the state she is.
Don't get me wrong, I don't need to like a mother to be on her side in a situation like this. But I also don't need to finish a book, in which the character is just not as interesting as they could be.
