X was the reason I wanted to buy a Wii U in the first place. Couldn´t buy one, but once Xenoblade 1 got ported to the Switch, with 2 being a success, I kept dreaming of one day finally being able to play X with the giant mechs and beautiful open world.
Hopefully it comes to Switch sooner rather than later.
The only reason I got a wiiu was xenoblade chronicles X.
This one has the world to explore.
At this point, I reckon XCX will be on switch 2...maybe.
There's a really good chance it could end up on the Switch 2. Especially since we're coming close to the end of the current Switch's life cycle.
It would definitely benefit from being on a console far more powerful than the Wii U.

@@gumpyflyale2542 it's very slightly more powerful. which, the Wii U is only a bit more powerful than PS3 and 360, so Switch is essentially a 7th-gen equivalent hybrid device - which really was impressive for the time, but it looks like Switch 2 will be out next March - so the original's hardware is not very impressive at all nowadays

This is definitely engaging and gets my hopes up to have them hopefully to bring it to the switch even though I’m a newbie to the xenoblade series
I mean the Switch is nearly a Xenoblade machine already, and it will be a Xenoblade machine if X comes out on it.

I believe another reason why X hasn't come to the Switch yet is because of the release schedule for Xenoblade. The series has become somewhat bi-annual, with a game release every 2 years after the last game or its DLC. 2 was 2017, Torna 2018, DE 2020, 3 2022, and FR 2023. This release schedule has likely made it to where there wasn't any room for X to be ported, especially with Monolith Soft's main focus being on the Klaus saga throughout the Switch's life and how costly it would be. Now that the Klaus saga is over there can be room to port X in 2025 as either cross-gen or Switch 2 only, following Xenoblade's schedule, and that would hold people over before Xenoblade 4, X2, or the new IP
XC3 released in 2022 not 2020.

Okay so, the thing about the main Xenoblade series being done is wrong, Monolith said multiple times that the main series will still continue and that 3 is more of the end of the saga that has been building since the first game.
There will be a Xenoblade 4 that will contain elements from the previous games, but will be essentially a new start.

I bought a WiiU just for this game. What an amazing experience. And btw, I believe you are right with your hunch. The Xeno games are too popular to not keep making them but the main branch is already over. Hightime for X to show up. My guess is we’re gonna get it for Switch in preparation for the next entry on the “Super Switch”

Just feels like this is something that might show up on the Switch successor instead as a expanded version with a prolonged story or something like that. It can be a port and a sequel all at once.
Most likely holiday 2024 for Switch. With the Switch 2 rumored delay and most studios working on Switch 2 stuff, it would make sense to fill this year with ports/remasters. ESPECIALLY if the team that did XB1 on Switch started working on this after XB1 released.

My bet is on the Switch 2, though there's one more direct in june, maybe we'll get a surprise. But I would love a beefed up X remaster for Switch 2. The game would look even more beautiful.

XCX is one of the reasons I'm a published author. My first book was inspired by Mira, and one of the major characters was inspired by Lin. No I did not copy or plagiarize!
Unfortunately since I'm no longer with the publisher who distributed the book, it's off the market until I someday re-release it.
I loved my 50-odd hours with Xenoblade X, and even though it runs very well on emulators, I don't think I would play it again. It's a bit overwhelming. A new generation deserves to play it, though!
I think you are spot on. It would make fore a beautiful remaster on the new Nintendo platform. Although I would love to have it sooner., I can appreciate why a developer may delay with a possible hardware change.
Yeah, I honestly think that the Switch 2 (or whatever it's called) would be the best place to put the game so that it could benefit from the new power of the console. But Nintendo could also just drop it on the regular Switch as a final hurrah type of game.
I love XCX. I played it again about a month ago. I lost all hope for the game beeing ported when XC3 got announced because i was expecting for X. Only if it is officially announced, i won't belive the game will ever come out

Now THAT would be a Day 1 pickup for the console AND the game for me.

i've tried it on emulation, work fine, only the reward with connection misses, but seriousl if the world series is on switch, nothing would be greater.

IF XCX got ported, I guess Imma sink hundreds of hours again into exploring Mira and experimenting on quirky builds. XCX is THE best Xenoblade for exploration and class build for me. The music is pure nostalgia 🥲

I’m hoping for a remaster. I think they would wait til after another big release or two to shoot down the hopes of this being a thing if they thought they couldn’t do it. It certainly feels like they might though

Why not bring this game to the Switch successor, often referred to as the Switch 2? With the Switch nearing the end of its lifecycle and Nintendo's new hardware on the horizon, this game would be a perfect addition in its first year. Instead of just porting it, we could maybe see a remaster with enhanced textures, better framerate, and improved resolution. Releasing this game on the current Switch would be a waste of resources, as it would soon be overshadowed by the announcement of new Nintendo hardware and upcoming games, and people would once again be begging for this game to come over.
Don't give me hope. I have it on Wii U and it was my favorite game for so long. I'd do just about anything for a remaster, or even a remake. Imagine how much they could add to it.
The possibilities are immense! They could make changes to the battle system, overhaul the graphics, and even add more to the online experience.

That would be amazing! Underwater exploration would be a great addition to the series! We've been able to fly, swim, and drive on land, so going underwater only seems natural. And what if the new continent had underwater caverns to explore?
I only got a Wii-U last year or the year before just to play Xenoblade Chronicles X and I love that game. I've not done the story yet but I honestly want to see this game getting ported onto the Switch or it's successor because i wanna experience the co-op as well as just enjoy it on a different/new console.
There is no co-op in the main game though.

i can imagine this is one of the most wanted wii u games on the switch. its puzzling as theyve ported over alot of lesser games on switch. they must also know this. it has to be either a licence thing or theyre purposefully holding it back to release closer to a sequel there working on or something
That's a very interesting observation! It would definitely make a lot of sense to release a remaster/remake closer to a sequel launch. Along with that, they may want to make significant changes to the game. Things that might make it vastly different from the original game and take up a lot of development time.
The only Reason i bought a Wii U. I player a heck out of this Game. I want to replay it but i hesitate because its hopefully coming to switch.

Xenoblade X wasn't all that loved when it came out. As with many Wii U games it got an absurd amount of hate upon release.
Only many years later did people start appreciating it.
I remember people even saying the soundtrack was garbage. A Hiroyuki Sawano soundtrack, the same composer for Attack on Titan. I've never seen a Sawano soundtrack get hate in my life.

I honestly was let down by XCX, if it does get ported they have a lot they should fix, most notably the ending. Maybe it could have an expansion pack on it too which would solve it. It was stupid Overdrive was so OP that you didn't need mechs to kill the monsters you were suppose to have mechs for. In fact it was A LOT easier. The story was meh for me, but that was not the focus of this game. Everything else was pretty good.
*Edit* - In saying that, I hope they add some stuff, fix the AI for party members, break Overdrive so it's not game breaking, and fix the ending. THAT would be AMAZING. If they did this I would be looking forwards to it being released on the switch.
And the ending really matters. I think everyone who has beaten it would agree with me, without spoiling anything.

I wish so hard it would be ported to switch. hell I'd love a PC port too. I'd buy it at least one one platform maybe both. For now I cant give nintendo money for it so play on emulator.

I never played it but i heard it doesn't fit into main games lore. Also there is awful (mmorpg) xc1 fighting system as I see and mmorpg quests, so I hope there will be not remaster but Remake with slightly changed lore if it really doesn't fit now and make it even more pleasurable to play

Not to spoil, but to paraphrase what Monolithsoft has already stated (and touched on lightly here before not thinking too deep on when Xenoblade Chronicles 3 initially started development):
It would be just as expensive to reprogram this game to work on another platform (not just Switch, but any hardware) as it would to make a new game. Financially it's just not viable. Porting the UI alone for all the different modes the GamePad uses is already a Project Manager's nightmare.
Too often we forget the PEOPLE factor of games being made. There is no "port to Switch" button. Developers make games, not hardware.
Those on the fence need to accept the fact that it's time to buy a Wii U.

There's definitely a lot more nuance to game development that's overlooked by the average consumer. There's more to the porting, remaking, or remastering process and it isn't just throwing money at some devs and saying 'make it happen!'.

They will not make a remaster because they will not pay for the music - all of the music was made by the same guy that after Xenoblde X became the acclaimed compositor of Attack on Titan OST. That simple. It would be too expensive. Unfortunately. And there is not such a thing like "but the other game made a huge amount of money so it is ok to expend it on a new remaster"... That is not how it works. The money need to come from the tittle production and seelings, not everything from the past made by the same dev team. There no such a thing as "enough profit" for corporate, you know. They will not expend money to make a game with the costs it would imply - the revenue and profit rates would drop in the fiscal year and that is how they decide on putting money into something or not. If they need to expend to much to have the music they will not do at all. It would be safe to assume it is easier to have a Xenoblade 5 before 4 than having a remaster of XCX
I don't think Nintendo would release an online game in the last year of their console.
I never played X but I LOVED 1-3. So if this game came to Switch, I'd play it. Hopefully, they can add a thing or two to make the story fit better with the others.
With all these remake cash grabs at the end of the switch life cycle..... this one seems like a no brainer. but they better give us some closure in the form of some new post game content 😬😬

Didn’t the main developers of monolith soft say it would take a lot of money & working from the ground up for a switch release?
None of the rumors suggesting X ports are coming are credible, but I DO suspect we'll be getting X remasters at some point anyway. However, I'm not sure it'll be a launch title. Future Redeemed, the Aionios Moments artbook, and other materials and information available suggest, to me, that Xenosaga Remakes and/or Remasters are coming soon, possibly as launch titles, and I suspect that they'd be followed up by a sequel to both the Xenosaga and numbered Xenoblade trilogies based on the unresolved plot threads at the end of Xenosaga and other open plot threads and hints towards the future they left at the end of Xenoblade 3 and Future Redeemed. The way I see it, a Xenoblade X remaster could come either between Saga remasters and this "Xenoblade Saga" fourth entry, after my theorized fourth entry, or alongside Xenosaga remasters upon the Switch 2's launch
I mean they could do this, but XCX was only good, not great. The game had a lot of problems, the worst of which was the weak main story and weak characters compared to the rest of the series.
Oh, and it gave the world Tatsu, which is a pretty big sin all by itself. Not sure it's worth the port, those developer resources could be better spent on other projects.
