Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Future Redeemed in 13 Minutes (with drawings I made while sleep deprived)

- It's finally here, the last part of the xenoblade chronicles recap/summary videos. This was actually the only one I wanted to do, but when I started to write out the summary, I felt like it wouldn't have been a good idea to tell this story without telling the story of 1 and 2. Even though shulk and rex do a great job of summarizing the story in the future redeemed dlc without really getting into it.
Anyway, it's all of xenoblade 3. Matthew and A's Journey to meet Shulk and Rex and eventually found the city with Nikol and Glimmer. We get that sweet sweet backstory, that honestly felt pretty vital to the main game. But that's what those statues are for I guess, just to tease us. Anyway then we dive into the story of the main game. Noah, Mio, Lanz, Sena, Eunie, and Taion go on a journey to discover the truth of their world and save it from Moebius and the consuls. Or whatever.
It's weird that these games take so long to play, but the actual required story isn't that long (at least for a game that took me over 100 hours to beat, but that's sidequests baby)
This game is full of scenes that I can rewatch over and over (looking at you, scene where the group is running at each other at the end of the game).
Well enjoy the video. And tell me what to do next because otherwise it'll probably be a video about stardew valley or something (which could be fun?)

Meanwhile Shulk.... is married to his wife and has a child that maybe ends up with one of Rexs children? GRANTED that makes it funny if we assume Shulk is "related" to zanza klaus because then the family tree diverges for like a generation and converges again...

The plot of Xenoblade 3 is just a family reunion that went horribly wrong and i love it

It's a japanese thing, a samurai thing, their fight is an expression of their admiration for each other, and dying for it is similar to Ashera's desire to have a beautiful death, which she gets from Dunban, another character heavily inspired by samurai.

I like how A is portrayed. Sort of gives off the “knows everything” vibe character, but is more like, sure let’s just go with the flow here
To be fair, the assumption isn't too far-fetched when you consider the general possibilities are City survivor, Keves/Agnus soldier, Moebius, or Liberator/old world survivor.

A actively tagged along with him knowing the passage of fate, Na'el wasn't after A, she was after Matthew, he would have ended up getting involved one way or another, A stayed with him to protect him and give him a fighting chance against Alpha.
@@wesnohathas1993 The assumption is the only logical conclusion given A split off of Alpha in the city right after Ghondor's death, why would anyone but a citizen be there? Matthew assumed something entirely logical and A just went with it because it was easier than trying to explain.
I do want to note, that Rex and Shulk awakening later is something, that is pretty much pure speculation. Personally, I think, the evidence for them having been around as long as the Queens seems stronger, but it could go both ways.
Also, there is some evidence for the time between FR and XC3 to span roughly a thousand years, but tbf this is mostly based on the propaganda spouted by a robot impersonating Nia, so i can understand some skepticism.
I think it is at least 1000 years, Monica mentions the city being founded at least 1000 years ago. And I don’t remember when but someone on the internet mentioned that M and Cry’s helped create the homecoming ceremony over 1000 years ago as well
Yeah, during chapter 7 there is a flashback that clearly states "1000 years ago" in which Crys alongside M perform the first ever Homecoming. Before then, soldiers whose 10 years of service were fulfilled were just publicly executed by their consul
i like to think that Shulk and Rex are some sort of administrators and live outside the rules of aionios because of there roles in previous games

I think its during Ashera's quest were we see that M created the off seeing ceremony, we get a 1000 years ago card, so that has to be after FR, since M is there.

I've always figured that Noah's Sword of Origin and N's Sword of the End are two separate weapons.
One, because the only time we've explicitly seen multiple copies of the same weapon being present at the same time has been through Ouroboros Blade Replication, but these have existed side by side in manners we know hasn't employed that.
2, because of their different names.
3, because Melia forged SoO with Origin Metal, making it somewhat like a XC1 weapon. Meanwhie, we know N's SotE to use Logos' core crystal, makint it somewhat like a XC2 weapon, so I just read that as two separate ways to create a like, incredibly sharp sword (it's very sharp).
I think the sword of origin is tied to their soul in a sense. Lucky Seven / sword of the end have a physical object in the world that anyone can pick up, but Noah doesn’t pull the sword of origin in his interlink form until chapter 6.
Noah’s gauntlet when the sword is pulled also looks similar to Matthew’s gauntlets. N calls them his “gauntlets of the end” so surely they’re related in a sense with Noah’s sword having pneuma (never actually shown) and N’s sword having logos (massively implied)
The Sword of the End and The Sword of Origin are both literally interchangable, and both of them have that title. There is no clear meaning for why it has two names and it's the same in Japanese as well. N's sword (and sheath) is a complete mystery on how and why it exists and came under past Noah's possession but it's physically different from Lucky Seven and still has the title of the Sword of Origin/the End. The only thing given about how past Noah, who became N (which has no relation to Moebius despite being the most evil looking sword in existence). Even Z said he doesn't know how past Noah got it except it was the will of a godlike being within Origin.
The sheath of N's sword shares some design similarities with Malos' Monado, just like how the Gauntles of the End are reminiscent of Pyra's sword.
Blades are weird in XC3. There's really no explanation of where they come from or how they get passed around, so how the Logos and Pneuma cores eventually ended up with N and Matthew, then finally Noah, is a complete mystery.
On the comment of both of them having both titles of Sword of Origin and Sword of the End, it's reinforcing the theme of Ouroboros. The names are interchangeable because the beginning and the end are one in the same.
N goes the big crazy is an understatement lol. But seriously though I will commend you on how well done this video was and I hope you're able to get some rest after all of this. Thank you for making sense of this game's plot even though I do love this one the story did make my brain be very confused by the end, which thankfully the DLC explained it. Great job!
Thanks! I think with really long games full of side quests it’s easy to lose track of what’s actually happening in the main story. It’s surprising how little of the content is actually required for the main game

Yeah, they got close to getting drawings, but at a certain point I was trying to cut down on anything I could haha

There are a few things off that don't matter, lol, great video, but I wanna point them out just for me.
Nia doesn't go to sleep until after N and M become Moebius since she talks to M before she sleeps, so that most likely occurs just before FR, but after N destroys the city.
Rex and Shulk didn't emerge from Origin they were never assumulated into it when Aionios came to be, as stated by Panacea or Linka (I forget which one) after doing every quest in FR, along with few other random people and they become unable to age (evidence by them being alive during FR which takes place about 100 Aionios years along with Melia living after about 1100 Aionios years despite only having a lifespan of about 800ish). Some of the other unassimulated people are Riku, Panacea, Linka, Melia, Nia, Poppi, and some other random NPC liberators in FR.
The unspecified time between FR and 3 is around 1000 years as shown in the cutscene before Noah's assension quest where the first Homecoming was made by M with the text "1000 years ago" and since Glimmer knew what a Homecomming was and wasn't sad she'd be killed by a consul's blade means that between N destroying the City and Mathew finding Glimmer is when that cutscene takes place. Or Glimmer was happy to give her life that way and it was called the same name, meaning more than 1000 passed between, but rounding to 1000 is just simple.
These things don't matter. I just love talking about this series and wanted to share a few missed things. It's a fun video! You're the best!

I played 1 through to future redeemed including torna this year. Years of gameplay crammed into a couple of months. As huge as this saga is and as much as I enjoyed parts of it, in hindsight I wish I had given the games a bit of time to sink in and breathe.
Watching your videos after just finishing has helped to unscramble some of the bits and pieces that still didn't fully make sense or weren't clear by the end of it.

Very digestible video, very cool
Some of the stuff at the beginning is out of order and happens shortly after Future Redeemed, but if you didn’t play both games you wouldn’t know that from watching this video. Also, Rex, Shulk, Nia, Melia, Riku, Panecea, Linka, & Poppy weren’t reawakened from Origin. The only way that works is if everyone one was but then Mobius killed them to put them in the cycle. These people live forever in Aonios with their time stopped. It’s unclear (which is dumb why they didn’t explain such a basic faset of how Origin works) why these people are eternal, which is either they were never assimilated into Origin or they never bit the dust to Z to become under Mobius control. If the second point is how it works then the members from XB 1 & 2 who don’t have their souls in weapons should also be under Mobius control.
I just realized something, if Alvis returned to his core crystal after Zanza died does that mean that Zanza was Alvis's driver?

So at the end they reconnect and all the life that was after origin reconnected, will come to be

and the cast of 3 and future redeemed, 2, and 1 will all just be npc's. that'll be fun

Great video, but where in the game does it say the new life from the city and whatnot would be created in the new world?
I don’t think there’s a specific quote that says they’ll be recreated, but post game melia says that all of life new and old is preserved in origin. And in the ending cutscene ghondor mentions that they’ll have a chance to be reborn in the new world. And since she says that right before they restart origin, that’d be the game just letting us know that all the new lives aren’t just going to be wiped out. As far as how they re-enter the new world that’s a big *shrug*

for the story stand point does this mean in a xenoblade chronicles 4 shulk and rex are forever gone or was them fusing with origin non permanent also do we know were pyra and mythra were during this the events of 3?

Weren't the robot queens created by the real queens because they were linked with the actual queens which is why the Melia bot started to malfunction at the end of the boss fight? If not i have no idea why Z bothered with the robot queens because Mobius didn't even want people to know that they could live beyond 10 years which is why the painting X and Y was banned.
They were made by Moebius (maybe not Z specifically) to maintain control over the two nations. Why they did this instead of just having a random consul like X or Y do it, I don’t know. If the queens made the robots, moebius could have just hid them away in a dark room somewhere.

The same thing that happened to most of the XC1/2 cast, got stuck in Origin. It’s not explicitly (or maybe even implicitly) explained why characters like Rex and Shulk and Nia and Melia were able to exist on Aionios even though Z mostly recreated just the young lives in Origin’s data, but that’s what happened. Most other adults stayed inside though

This was far more enjoyable than the actual game.
Tehnicaly --- worlds would destroy each other when they came together. Origin pretty much just caused time stop to slow down the atoms and remake the world. (and also works as a databank where humans turned themselfs into blades to live longer) Z kinda fucked it up and stoped it on like 40% complete and this causes the anihilation events when matter moves to much (like mobies).
Note that every human that was born is 100% dead in new universe as they are not connected to origin re-born machine.
You came to a very different conclusion to XC3 than most of the fanbase, in that most people including myself don't think that the worlds merged. They specifically said that Origin was designed to force them apart again, not to help them merge, as merging would cause them to annihilate each other. Think matter and antimatter. Z just managed to create Aionios by literally freezing time at the exact moment the two worlds met and preventing the reaction from occuring, as he feared that Origin wouldn't work and everyone's existance would end.
anyways back to the original statement (sorry i was rambling), I think the song playing at the end was mostly meant as a thematic callback of some sort, in which they wanted to pull the heartstrings of people who really cared about the story just a little more. If they worlds really had rejoined, I'm sure they would've made the story DLC about that instead, or at least would've done *something* with it
When I finished the original game I was under the impression that origin restarted, the two worlds collided, and then origin worked and recreated the two worlds separately. But then they added a cutscene at the end of future redeemed where it shows the two worlds combining so that’s what I went with there.
Personally I think if they are still separate that invites exploration for a future installment at least
Yeah, FR confirmed they managed to recombine the worlds properly, not long after 3 ended. There is no question, lol.
People watch the cuscene of the worlds literally interlinking and they stay in denial. Come on man.
Nia’s original description was a bit vague but what she was saying was that Origin would allow the worlds to cross paths without all life being destroyed in the process because it would all be recreated by Origin.
Then we inferred (and FR’s ending confirmed) that the recreated worlds would become compatible with each other and seek to return once again, this time being able to merge properly.
