brennan doesnt understand the rules. he understands the lack of rules and exactly what that allows him to do.
On the other hand, if he is actually thrown off course, he is massively thrown off course, like not describing a Spencer’s correctly or bird identification (they did manipulate him but he really was thrown for a loop and Brendan is not actually that knowledgeable about birds).

@@decentgrocerybag4003 The 4 minutes line wasn't a callback or reference to a specific joke, but it's hilarious (to me at least - most people probably didn't find it that funny) because they all knew they were going to be occupied with filming the episode, so Josh didn't actually have to go anywhere. And the fact that 4 minutes is a comedically short time period makes it even funnier. Again, probably not something that most people would find hilarious, but it had me crying laughing lol

Brennan blew my mind with that Candyland bit, that character could be its own sketch, I'd watch. Heck I'd watch a whole series of that weird guy explaining all the difficulties that go into various candy-themed amusement park attractions.
