hey Herman, working on a documentary that would like to license some of these clips or obtain any info on where the clips are from (source). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No way to be sure unless you can identify the registration number at the back. Video is rather fuzzy - well this was around 1991-1993 and HD video wouldn't be available for another 10 years. C-GAUN was reg number for the Gimli glider.

From an aviation enthusiasts and spotters piont of view, I would have to say that the old TIA was considerably better.

Man I remember those days, I grew up a few Km's from YYZ airport, right under the approach lanes, I miss seeing all different types of aircraft and all the different airlines. Now I live in YYC and like before I live under the approach lanes and it is SOOOOOOO boring. 737-737-737-737-737-737-737-Dash 8-737-737-737-A320-737-737-737-737-767-737-737-737-737-737-737-737-777. Boring.

You said it. I consider my once burning passion for aviation to be a "grandfathered" interest. Now little of anything beautiful or interesting is flying.

Can anyone identify the sound at 0:09?

Airstart unit. It provides air to start the engines. Used when the auxiliary power unit is in-op.

That aircraft was waiting the arrival gate to be available - this was back in early 1990s and new terminal had not been built yet. Toronto Pearson was very crowded.
