New caster adc support that slows on every ability and applies on-hits on slow (if you're slowed for extended periods, the on-hit just becomes a DOT effect that melts you basically). Also give him a steroid aoe nuke ultimate that slows around him and doubles on-hits that somehow leads to a recursion with a random unrelated tank item that makes him OP as a tank top laner.

Sona’s best ability is Dimiuendo, scaling exhaust, every sona main sees the Dimieundo as their w, not the aria-

But imagine 60 ability haste on other champions. Also Diminuendo is kinda officially part of her passive, so having all that on other champs would be devastating.

As a lux main, her E is definitely her best skill. Her Q is easily dodgeable, but her E can slow a good chunk of area and provide vision. Muchhh more useful than her Q
E is so bonkers you have to actively try to miss with it

Swain's best ability is Q 🤣
As a Lux main I think her e is her best ability, it has good damage, waveclear, decent CC, provide vision with good range for 5 secs if you want and can zone people from chokepoints.
Taric's Bravado is his best ability for sure. Bravado plain gives 2x atk speed + built in Navori passive + 2 magic damaging "sheen" procs that scale with lvl and15% bonus armor.

I just think "would I rather be sylas or veigo against this champ?" And that helps me to decide. Accounting for cooldowns is also very important to the tier list
ahri's passive? draven's E? braum's e? and so much more... the things you choose as the best ability is so specific and unique to situations I can't even believe it... who in their right mind can think that draven's best ability is e... while he would be literally no one without his q and while braum's almost whole deal is his broken undodgeable stun passive
LITERALLY?? i do think braum's strongest ability is e, because that is a fight winning abilty on a basic cooldown, but the rest??? some of these choices are... definitely choices
cant really argue braum e tho, its hard but he is built around being an anti-projectile champ, you would pick him vs ornn and seraphine because you completely neuter their ult or lucian for the same reason, yes his passive is the entire reason why he is so strong with champs like kog maw, but seriously the entire point of braum is his "stand behind braum" playstyle, and if you were to take one of his abilities away to keep his identity, on no world would you get rid of his e. other note tho, draven e is incredibly delusional take i agree, its either his q or his incredibly broken passive imo
i think he is right about ahri even her q is better than her charm since true damage is considered but in scenarios like her surviving in team fights she gains 1 ult charge and at least 15% of her hp with her passive

If you play right it is up for nearly 70% of the game and helps you in fights with % on hit, split push (or double split push if the enemy team is that bad), and not having to Q to get Ghouls up.

1) turn into melee char on any range champ --> 30% more structure dmg
2) turn into adc as any tank and position badly --> enemy hard engages on a friggin tank
3) turn into a melee minion as jungle with on-hit --> you just got a 1.25 base attackspeed. enjoy that clearspeed
4) turn into minion on any champ --> dodge many abilities that can only hit champs like ashe-arrow/no heal on soraka q etc
5) turn into minions to gank lanes as jungler --> everybody fails for this at some point. if not everybody gets paranoid, counts minions, their macro suffers hard
6) turn into low-hp ally --> trigger all sorts of abilities you got that get boosted by you being low hp, without actually being low hp
7) turn into a range champion on a melee --> you are ranged now. image nasus activates his q and turns into cait. good luck with that
8) pick chogath --> traumatize melee that just wanted a last hit
I feel like using the lens that the best ability would be one that other champions could use doesn’t make sense. They never will get that ability, so what does the ranking mean if thats the basis for their position. I feel like just ranking strictly on what the champions strongest ability is as apart of their kits would be the most effective way to actually place them.
Chances are it's another parameter to keep all the choices from being passive or ult for most of them
Feels a bit weird to include passives that fundamentally change the champion then, like with Jhin
But it wouldnt be passive or ult for most of the cast even if it was just based on their kit@rizronax
These kind of tier lists are more for fun, than they are telling you what to max first.
But anyway, it's easier to pick out the black sheep ability that feels weaker or is least integral to a champion's. i.e. if you removed it and replaced it with something else entirely, they'd still feel like the same champion. Thresh's ultimate is an example in my opinion. His Q, W and E are Thresh's identity. The Box isn't bad, but not as core to his playstyle. In the process, you're likely picking an ability that most other champs wouldn't care for either. (I personally think this is how Vars should have done his worst abilities tier list).
On the other hand, quantifying each champion's best ability within their own kit can be hard, because they're comprised of abilities that synergise with each other. As an alternative, if we do thought experiments and imagine how powerful the ability is in a vacuum, and then how other champions would benefit from them, it's interesting to speculate. Of course, not every champion will profit from each foreign ability to the same extent, but there are almost certainly enough champions who would have a mutual interest in an ability - namely champions from the same class. For instance, I think Warwick's W is unquestionably his best ability if we're going by Vars' criteria. Imagine a Jax or Darius running to you at mach 2 and auto-attacking you to death even faster than normal.
He's ranking them as standalone abilities. If an ability is only valuable on one champion, and would be worthless on any other kit, it isn't the most powerful ability. It's not the only criteria you could use, but it does make sense
I would mostly agree with Nami W, though you could make quite a strong case for her E considering how core Imperial Mandate is for her.
I was going to draw attention to her passive. It grants speed to all allies whenever they are hit by your abilities, not just buffs like he mentioned. Bring able to turn all of your AoE abilities into speed boosts for your allies is something tanks could use, adcs, ap carries, nearly every class could get good use out of it.
@@pikmints Well, the point you miss is you have to hit your allies... Anything that is damage based won't hit them, so most champions can't even make use of it.
@@metrux321 actually, her bubble also applies the ms boost when you hit allies same with her ult, so dmg abilities should work, anyone with good aoe can make use of it, like anivia ult would be a pool of ms for your team basically
Malzahar player here, E is his best ability. His ult doesn't do any damage without mark and voidlings. It's frustrating to get hit by, and it's super flashy, but the ult itself isn't what kills you. Other champs wouldn't be able to set up their damage before ulting. It would be like a worse Amumu Ult, since you can't do anything while the enemy is suppressed.
Malz E is mana regen, resets, waveclear, huge damage, AND it's all point and click ranged.
You are only thinking in terms of a solo laner. Imagine a support or jungler especially tanks with malzahar ult. The best gank setup in the entire game. Champs would literally be forced to build QSS first item, or die every time the support or jungle ganks.

You should also think in terms of defense and cooldown recovery, for malzahar that... Is almost a non issue, but let's say you are an adc getting a top laner in your face and your team will need time to catch up. Well, now you have time.
Malz whole purpose late game is ult the carry, he doesn’t even need damage, just take the carry out if the fight for like 2 seconds and he’s done his job
100% true, malz e is such great skill... you get such a pressure on your enemy with constant push, while also being safe

Fair but I disagree. W is small gap close, increased damage, on hit effects I believe, tower pushing, and is even useful without the tentacles. E is only good for zoning and poke if it’s without the tentacles.

Her Q and E are definitely her most powerful abilities in terms of damage, but her R kinda... makes them both better. Without R, her Qs damage falls off a cliff, since the range enhancements wouldn't be possible, and her E would be so much harder to hit. It really makes her kit as good as it is. Without R, idk. She's kinda really bad.
Zoe is straight 2 different champions with and without R.
I still think her W is the strongest because stealing SUMMONER SPELLS and actives is stupidly broken.

And as a Zoe main, I would say its W. It gives you move speed, additional dmg and gives you one of summoner spells. And it combos with her Q too, bc her little stars don't wake up sleeping enemies (ignite, her best summoner spell too), gives you move speed for better Q. Plus it activates her passive. Its insane in team fights.

cho R is his strongest ability btw, W is strong because silence isnt as common but his R is the strongest true damage nuke in the game.
Besides, W is used largely to enable his other abilities. To stop dashes against Q, the stay close for full E or most importantly to setup R. W by itself is kind of mopey and solo poking with it consistently is a pretty big Cho mistake.
@@qwormuli77 in the context of cho himself its excellent, but thats because cho can cc chain you until its impossible to escape R. Im sure it would be insanely powerful on assassins, but its not his best.

I would say naafiri's best ability is her passive, the dogs dont only add pretty decent dmg even if you can only activate them with your AA, but also block abilities which is the perfect middle finger to any mage

Actually for Nami passive, its hitting any ally with any of your abilities, not necessarily buffs. Its kinda weird but neat, hit Q on an ally and they speed up, same for ult.

Akshan 1-trick here - I would have to say W/Going Rogue is the most desirable ability as it not only gives you perma-camoflauge, it also allows you to revive your whole team AND gives you bonus gold for kills AND gives you move speed AND gives you mana regen. Dirty fighting is cool and all but just the revive passive would already make this the best ability in his kit and the fact that it does so many things makes it a top shelf ability.

with camille, like yea he q recast does a lot of true damage, but i have to mention her e, whitch enables her to make great roams and trade safely, plus making her a great engage support
Don't forget Ezreal's Q also has the inherent cooldown reduction on all his abilities if he hits!

Heimer's ult deserves some consideration. On him, it warps each ability massively, and if you can give that power to anyone, well...

For clarification, Morgana’s Black Shield (E), gives unconditional immunity to crowd control for 5 seconds and a magic shield, you are immune to all crowd control as long as the shield holds or until the duration runs out. If the shield breaks due to it sustaining enough magic damage to break it, you can be cc’d afterwards.
Pyke main here... so we gonna go for a dash with an aoe stun instead of a blink that has an aoe resetable execute attached to it which also grants bonus gold... I am not sure about that Vars (with the everything wrong with pyke video in mind)

Thank you for putting Cait’s traps on here. I see so many Caitlin players not even TRYING to use them in a team fight or when getting jumped on by a Yi or Irelia or something. On a crit build, you can easily get a few autos off during just the root and completely turn a fight
Leona's Shield of Daybreak is not a Point & Click. It's a Buff that grant Leona's next basic attack:
50 bonus Range
Magic dmg
1s Stun
It can cancel the previous Basic Attack animation if you press the Q button at the right timing, allowing for AA Q AA which count as 3 separate Attacks, it procs PtA
It allows Leona to break wards from level 1 if she's close from it when the enemy drops it. (I'd say inside the same bush as the ward)

warwick has to be q, it's an unstoppable dash that also does 12% max health magic dmg at max and heals for 75% of the dmg dealt, the skill expression this ability has is actually crazy, I can predict flashes and q through them to follow the flash, I can q through malphite, k'sante, or sett ult to completely cancel out the cc. His e is good, but w and q are both better
Kassadin R turns from second flash on lvl6 to nuke on lvl11 to straight up rightclick replacer on lvl16
I think syndras passive is very underrated. Get an extra ability on q, true damage to w, slow and just larger area on e and a 15% execute on ultimate and lastly just extra ap
I'd argue that Veigar's passive isn't really the best because the passive alone doesn't really generate that much AP, majority of the AP comes from Q which is technically tied to passive but it's pretty much just for consistency sake so excluding that I'd argue his Q or E are the best depending if it's higher or lower elo.
Also, Veigar cage is both incredibly powerful as his lifeline and also for enabling his short range. His P is literally just an alternative modifier for his scaling curve. While I think all the people who call it the best stun in the game are exaggerating, they have a point in how integral and game changing it is. E for sure.
I remember killing a Kayne who ulted on me using Diana's shield while we were both on grains of HP. It's also funny to use when someone wants to gap close on you cause the shields cause a surprising ton of damage.
i feel like gp w being a cleanse would be sooo insane on any champ. its legit a free summoner + sustain

The list is pretty great although I disagree on a few points:
Jhin - His passive forces you into slow auto attacks and most characters (Mostly marksman) dont have the rest of his kit to capitalize on that. I would say W is his best ability. A root which some champions can proc easily even by themselves
Zoe - I think Spell Thief is better. Some champions would be absolutely disgusting with certain items (imaging some bruisers randomly getting Hydra) or Assassins getting Flash.
Vel'Koz - I'd go with Passive. True Damage on three hits of your abilities, something like Xerath can proc that with one Combo and ult, Hwei gets one stack every tick of his R. That would be nuts.
Briar- This is a wild take but E. Damage reduction, extremly powerful heal and knockback on a character that the channel you cannot interrupt. Passive might be good too but Q not.
Swain - Even thought the others (W and E) dont work that well... I still think R is better than Q. R gives heal, a powerful damage tool and isnt tied to his passive stacks anymore. But it's very debatable especially if a character gives up their own ultimate.
Other than that great list. Just my two cents. Keep it up !

Ashkan W is without question his best ability. Quite possibly the best ability ever made. The fact you can ress your teammates if you kill the champ which killed them is just insanity.
Aatrox ult is actually really strong, since it's a ton of free AD and MS. For akshan, i think you should explain since his w is also a very important ability. Revives are broken. Blitzcrank ult would also be a pretty great ability, extra (delayed) damage on every auto and a low cooldown AOE silence. Blunt force trauma may not be that good on someone without a ton of healing, since it actually has a decent hp cost. And for garen, IIRC his wild rift ult is even more OP, it has a small AOE and also has it's cd reduced to 5 seconds if the target uses untargetability like stasis, kayn ult, or fizz e or something. Gwen e and passive are also really strong, her passive is free %max hp damage and sustain, her e is more attack range, more attack speed, more damage on attacks, a dash, and late game, on a super short cooldown if you attack someone. j4 e also provides a ton of attack speed to him and allies, along with passively giving him a ton of attack speed. Jax w is also pretty strong, as it's a super low cooldown auto reset that also deals quite a bit of damage, even with 0 AP. I understand that kass r is a super strong ability, but his w and e are also pretty good. w is a free auto reset, free mana (which also letsh im ult more), and free damage on atuos, e is an AOE slow that does a ton of damage and in teamfights, has almost no cooldown. Kayn passive is also really strong, since SA's is a bunch of free burst damage, and rhaast's is free sustain. Rhaast q and ult are also really strong, it's a ton of %max hp damage, and for rhaast ult, it also heals a ton. Also malph e is not a big f*** you to olaf and master yi. If you have good reaction speed as kassadin, you can q malz right as his ult starts to cancel it. And I think it's kinda funny, if you put together 5 OP abilities the champ isn't all that OP, like nasus and master yi. Also master yi and garen can run away from wither with their slow immunity. Nunu q is also basically a second smite. Pantheon q is a low cooldown execute that can also be a ranged ability. And it's AOE. Pyke passive and ult are also really strong. passive is basically a better regular battle roar, and ult is execute with tons of free gold. Rakan passive is also really strong, it's a free shield that you can reduce the cooldown of. Except rakan doesn't have an easy way to reduce it so it's not particularily OP on him. Battle roar and rengar q are also really strong, q is a low cooldown auto reset that does a ton of damage, battle roar... self explanatory. Especially if you can get the empoewred version. Ryze ult is also a pretty good ability. Especially for teleporting super minions to attack a different turret. Shen q actually does a ton of damage if you have a decent amount of AP, and you can almost always have it up. Also IIRC it applies rylai's. Syndra passive is also really good, a chunk of free AP and mana on all your ability hits. Trynd passive actually doesn't suck, it's a ton of free crit chance. Zeri passive is also really stron gfor the shield steal.
I remenber ultimate spell book game mode where you could get zoe ult, it was one of the worst ults you could get, using it like a le blanc W was so dificult yet he still put zoe ult as her best ability
650k on kaisa at the moment, plat 1. Kaisas passive is very important but in a vacuum her ultimate is one of the best universal combat mobility tools in the game. TF ult goes farther but can be canceled, kaisa is instant. Its a katarina shun po with semi global range late game that provides a massive hybrid scaling shield and has more uses than notcturns ultimate. Instead of dashing to a champion you can jump walls, retreat to a tower, or position behind or beside minions to land skill shots. It also can be buffered to hide a velkoz Q animation or the like. In league damage application and overall having more options creates more oppprtunites to win than just doing extra damage. Veigar nasus trundle etc demonstrate that

As a Kindred main i actually do think their ult is their best ability if you know how to use it. Utilized right Lambs Respite can totally flip entire teamfights.

mate qiyanas ult is by far the most important spell in her kit and for hwei its literarily his passive it does so much poke dmg early

For Aphelios you could make the argument for his passive being his best since it gives you free stats on level up: AD, Lethality, AND attack speed. Give this to any AD champ and they can abuse this.

Neeko best hability is no contest her passiv. Behing able to take the form of everything is so strong. First is cancel a part of all hability animation, second it allow you to get the base ms and range of every champ in your team. If you have a cairlyn you get 650 range. It allow you to transform into melee champ to deal more damage to turret or thing like sejuani passive. And the stronger part is that if you transform into minion you can dodge A LOT of hability. Sej R, varus R, nautilus R, Vex R, nunu snowball and so one. This is way better than E.

I would say that all of Jarvan's skills would be quite good for a support, maybe not W there but a good Shield + Slow in a very big range.
Q reduces all enemies hit armor by a % and E can increase all close allies's attack speed

You were a bit hesitant on Nilah, but I think you forgot that it is the part of her kit that gives her armor pen based on crit chance, which would be very good on a melee crit champ, or it would enable some champs to start building crit too (it's the whole reason that she builds crit to begin with).

I feel like there is a really good argument for Mundo passive being guy best ability because what champ would not love a free spellshield that can also heal abd get its CD lowered to a point where you just lose CD eventually

For Camille, I think her best ability is her E. Flexible mobility, stun, and bonus attack speed are a great thing to have.
forget rell q, could you imagine her passive on someone who builds attack speed like trundle?? it's just terminus but for free
qiyana's best ability is her r, compared to her e which is nothing more than a gapcloser, her r is a teamfighting ability that deals massive damage and is what shapes her identity against other assassins
I'd like to put out my bet on Yorick's W being his strongest ability, without considering his ultimate of course
His jail is a death sentence or a life saver, It has a long cooldown and high cost for a reason
It can help in ganks, closing paths while being chased, trap enemies that you want to kill or don't want to be killed by
Imagine an ADC with a wall that actually traps you inside, you either waste time breaking it or waste Flash
imagine all champs having invisibility. would be a fun and challenging but also frustrating match
For the champs I play:
- agree Illaoi W
- Kindred Passive - marks to gain strength gives a lot of snowball potential and can work on everyone in every role to some extent.
- Rakan definitely W - it’s everything. Waveclear, peel, engage, disengage, damage, cc, mobility.
- Poppy W - super useful against many people in the game. Also the passive gives extra mr and armour, which increases at low health - you cited her durability, but IMO her W is more important to that than her passive.
- Warwick, yeah his E is good. His W is also really good for hunting people and duelling.
I'm pretty sure you meant Sett's E (facebreaker) if your talking about his stun
I enjoyed the video and found the majority of it pretty agreeable, but I can't really wrap my head around choosing Jinx passive instead of Q. Jinx is nothing without her scaling attack range. I do this Get Excited is a fantastic ability that many champions would love, but I feel like even more champs would be insane with having either AOE autos with extended range, or ramping attack speed which you can switch between depending on the situation.
I'm open to having my mind changed, but I can't imagine many champs that even slightly depend on autos wouldn't want Jinx Q.
I think if we count the ability isolated then passive is the most important for caitlyn, bcs without her passive you cant auto from long range the caught target neither you do the headshot + extra dmg, so it's just a 1 second root
If it was a stun on target I'd agree, but the whole deal with traps is area control, any jg or ranged champ will appreciate having traps to stop and see enemies on the way.
for xin zhao, I think It'd be a better ability to have his passive, cause if we think about hit, every few attacks giving health back would be broken on so many auto champs, like kayle, vayne, etc

on ahri, actually, it's her W. movement speed, execute on minions and %missing health damage, means every orb deals more damage than last one.
Kaisa: it's her E. It's basically vayne tumble, that gives extra attack speed and extra movement speed.
That's not how it works, I think. I'm no Ahri main but I think each fox fire does less dmg than the previous one (like 3 flames not with each cast)
yes, that is what the description says and that is what should happen. What reality is, i don't know because sometimes it feels like ahri W alone does half hp at early laning levels. @@melindasteinle-holder9514

As a Pantheon player, his best ability, according to your own criteria or how well it would work if slapped into the kit of every other champion in the game, would be his E 100%. Being able to deny big damage engages from assassins, ults from MF, Caitlyn, etc. and many other things would be amazing on much squishier targets such as mages and ADCs. Most assassins and bruisers already have a solid engage tool so Pantheon W would be incredibly redundant, and sure the CC is nice but it's used for engage, not to be a CC bot. His E is just incredibly overpowered in my opinion, knock off Taric ult and Braum E in one on a 12 second cooldown late game

Sona best skill should be her passive, it's basically the definition of versatility
Slow, Exaust, and Burst (with lich o any other champ with higher ap build)
And besides, now her passive grants her ability haste when poking or protecting allies, at max stacks recharging her ultimate whenever she pokes, heals or shields allies...
I feel like Vel’koz’s passive is a contender. Land abilities for true damage. Imagine that on a champ with easy to land abilities

As a shaco otp if we base on your "logic" ( that you dont respect half the time but anyway) shaco q is perhaps one of the best ability in the game an instant blink that make you untargettable amd pretty much removes the need for flash. Litterally everychamp could benefit from that ability. But if you stay on shaco's kit w all the way the strongest since it works so well on him
Wonder what you will do for Varus, Cait and all the other basic marksmen

For Akshan. Did he mean his passive or w passive cause I’d assume the w. It’s the stealth+res on takedown
Akshan true passive is by far better. Be able to revive is stupide i agree, but appli 2 hit per auto (2 one hit effect) + shield + ms is stupid. If you cancel the 2nd auto you get even more ms. This passive is all akshan power in lane and fight and it would be absurd on every other champ.
W is camouflage close to wall cool but not that great. And the revive with is broken but compare to actual passiv their are not at the same level.
how is swains ult not his best ability? every champion would gladly take his ult
