    nice to see Stevens doing guard in the beginning and Pregiuça try to stand up in the end

    Travis doesn't seem to entirely know the point system and rules, and is just grappling. There's something really pure about that.

      He knows the rules, he just likes to play matches his own way. He doesnt like the get an advantage or 2 points and then stall for the rest of the match game. His personal philosophy is always attack and he would rather lose trying to go for the finish than play for points. You're right though, it's great and much more entertaining to watch.

    Pathetic ruleset that penalizes the player on his feet for not enter in the guard of a guard puller, more considering that you cannot slam if you lift a guard puller, BJJ ruleset has to evolve.

    The ref keep giving points for sweeps when in fact Travis is just trying to catch a leg. Final score is 9-2, but in reality, the match-up is pretty even, neither one coming close to a submission or a real dominance.

      Those are the rules you cant give up a dominant position.

    Travis was pissed that's why he started to throw him around, BJJ rules are destroying the efficiency of the sport

    If I were him, Preguiça would be flying through the air.

      yeah but that would only get you two points
      it's not like passing the guard or pinning felipe pena is an easy thing
      he would sweep you right back again , páss your guard, take your back and get the choke

    6:15 - Word of advice to elite BJJ practitioners: Never do standup with an Elite Judoka, especially an Olympian! Why? B/c you never know if the guy will back flip you on a throw. That move done by Stevens is not some chump takedown, that’s a “high-level” ippon seoi-nage he did with Felipe Preguiça. You will see Travis do that often in elite level Judo competitions and for a BJJ fighter to underestimate him by standing up is already bad.

    LoL, what kind of sh*try rules are these? The American kid takes his opponent down twice in a row, gets awarded 2 points only. He proceeds to actively attacking for leg locks, and the referee keeps giving points to his opponent. On the other hand the Brazilian kid keeps pulling guard, gets awarded 9 points. Wtf?!?
    This is why bjj players haven't won a single UFC championship title ever since USADA came around.

    • @user-mn7te2ey5l
      @user-mn7te2ey5l Před 4 lety +4

      Because in BJJ rules you must put your opponent down for three seconds. Felipe stood up immediately after taken down.
