When i was still traveling the World filming In 2015 i was fortunate enough to be with Rodolfo for most of his training camp leading up to ADCC 2015.
It was during this time that i witnessed what it really takes to be a champion. I saw the sacrifices that he had to make and how hard he pushed himself each and every day.
The scene at the beginning of the video with Rodolfo doing interval training on the bike shows you the determination and heart that he has and how far he is willing to push himself.
Because of his hard work it was of no surprise that he won Gold in his division beating legends such as Xande Ribeiro and Felipe Pena.
Through my years of traveling and filming i always wondered what was different about the champions. What are the ingredients to be the best? From what i have seen its who puts in the most work.

It’s hard to define Rodolfo Vieira: if he is a great athlete with a great heart, or a great heart that ended as a great athlete! Anyways, he is one of the greatest to step on the mats!!!!!
He’s a true legend of the sport. He’s doing great in MMA too. I witnessed how hard this guy works leading up to ADCC. So I think he will go far in the ufc too

@@stuartcooperfilms I am slightly heart broken but every ADCC is hard when you have such great matches going I would settle for any Marcelo match you might have.
I remember training and having someone kick me in the head on accident while playing open guard. I passed his guard but my body was not responding to what I wanted to do. Possibly similar thing happened to him in the UFC last week.
After Roger I think Rodolfo is possibly number 2 of all time..esp in the gi

@@stuartcooperfilms I agree. I always thought Rodolfo had the purer jiu-jitsu between him and buchecha. Don't get me wrong buchecha is an outstanding athlete and a specimen and one of the goats for sure but Rodolfo and Roger had this aura about them. You knew exactly what they would do bit could never stop it. Take down pass submit and they both made it look so easy. I remember Rodolfo running through his division and absolute literally submitting everyone then Buchecha would literally get by some of those rounds by the skin of his teeth but beat Rodolfo by 2x0 (apart from thebyr Rodolfo had gold.hair lol where he lost 6*2 or something) my dream matchup in 2011 was Roger Vs Rodolfo. Both would've been in peak condition. It's a shame we lost Roger the year prior. Sorry I'm waffling I love talking about these guys lol the purple belts of today will never understand just how incredible Rodolfo was(is)

De la riva - berimbolo game. No joke, saw him do it smoothly on concrete. Great overhead sweeps and armlock from closed guard. Man was a complete grappler.
