I liked it and think a potential trilogy had a lot of potential. I liked the looser, lighter tone and emphasis more on exploration than military conflict. In the same way ME1's flaws are often overlooked now (it had the worst gameplay by an absolute mile, including Andromeda, and had the most tedious missions as well as the worst incarnation of every character except maybe Wrex), I feel Andromeda's issues would be less focused on were a sequel to expand on the characters and new galaxy. I think it was fun and would have liked to see more.

I agree, it was a good game. While it always makes me miss being Commander Shepard, it's still a great game to play. It definitely has it's own merits imo. This game had a lot of problems, but it had a lot of heart. It had a rough development and huge shoes to fill. But it captured a feeling of adventure, of confronting a problem you do not feel ready for. If the original trilogy was an amazing saga about humanities greatest soldier saving the galaxy, Andromeda was a story of a new generation stepping into the unknown with not much more than hope. Fun times, despite the games issues.

Andromeda had so much wonder to give us. All the planets were so unique, the characters much more so. You are forbidden by no one to see their Graves, and their children's Graves, except by time, and space.

If we humans did this today, it would take us millions of years to get to Andromeda.

Man listening to this theme again... so many thoughts.
It had such a great concept. The aesthetic of it, the sound design were great! The story that they were trying to tell was phenomenal. It was a rocky start, yes. The animations were not great, but they made them better.
Still... overall... the execution of that concept was lacking. A lot of the decisions we made as the player didn't feel like they had any meaning. The dialogue was good at times, but when it was bad, it was REALLY bad. Sometimes characters would say things, or have interactions, that seemed to directly contradict what had previously been set up. More than a few times I would choose a dialogue option only for my character to say the complete polar opposite of what I thought they were going to say.
Some things just straight up didn't make sense unless you really dug deep, and yet the characters never seem to question any of it. Like, why do we see the same three animals (and ONLY those animals) on every planet? If they were domesticated and transported, sure, but these are clearly wild. And when the Angara just casually mention that they, a single species, somehow evolved on three different planets, independently, not one single character questions how the F that's even possible, even though that ends up being one of the main plot-points of the story.
The actual gameplay was sharp, but the lack of distinct classes, having access to all the abilities, and being able to switch them on the fly, made the main character feel so OP that who you chose for your squad - hell even having a squad - was utterly meaningless. They really leaned into the use of power combos (primers and detonators) instead of rewarding using the right ability for the right situation.

Hey can I just ask how do you make these extended versions? Do you just cut and copy certain bits and loop them? Or do you also actually add and remove things as well? Like for examples there are these 'vocals' here that don't seem to be in the original and in the original there's of course a bit where it's more...explosive I guess? But that isn't here. To keep it relaxed I assume. So there's a lot more editing going on in these things than just looping a song. This must be a lot of work actually and to top it off with those in game scenery...damn. I do edit audio a lot in some of my videos but this was actually a straight loop, so I can't take the credit for doing anything special with it haha. The gameplay for this game is perfect, i have no problem with andromedas open/uncharted worlds. The art style actually doesn't bother me, as it literally is what the council races would build with minimal use of prothean blueprints. Its the story that I don't care for, even then its got its moments. It would have been better for Ryder to still be what is basically a companion for a while, building confidence and bearings with his situation, leading a second squad. THEN his/her father dies nearing mid game when the kett learn that is him turning remnant stuff on and he kills himself in order to deny the kett the technology Ryder then, a much more confident Ryder takes the position of pathfinder using the memory imprints to finish their training. Once the games done we skip a few months or a year, your sibling becomes a companion for you to use and you've received Pathfinder / N7 hybrid armour, Ryder Receiving some N7 training during the time jump. You finish all the quests you have left and maybe do more stuff. That would be what id change.

    So here it goes.
After countless hours of mass effect trilogy, countless play trough's ( correct me if I said it wrong), I finaly got the courage to go ahead with Andromeda. Yes, I did hate the game so bad that after launching it for the first time it made me cry because the love from ME 1,2,3 had been lost with this franchise ( no shit, I really did cry).
The game play, the characters lack of expression, the paragon or renagade option ( if it exists I haven't noticed) and many more variables in which i will not take count here, it was simple gone and it was more than enough to not love this game.
The SR1 and SR2 was replaced for the ( beautiful Tempest, yes I said beautiful, and I love that ship more then SR2 don't get me wrong) I lost more than 1 hour looking at the details of the much smaller vessel and I kinda prefer it to the SR series. The huge glass from the cockpit is awesome, well decorated with simple consoles. I do like the room you are offered, spectacular view to space. I really did hate the ladder's, it feels like you working in the construction industry ( but it saves weight in the much smaller vessel) I know I know.
Love the glass bridge were it says Tempest, nice touch to it and yet simple, and boy oh boy
those outside lines are gorgeous, sexy, clean curves makes you fly it endlessly tru the galaxy.
    Let's talk about the character's..
Well, the characters themselves, kinda let me down, we don't have that pretty Asari face we got with Liara, ot the sexy bodie as well. The turian is kind the same with a few minor differences and it goes OK with the ones on Me 1,2,3.
The krogan, actually feels the same, even the female one (the first you see in the arch) don't remember her name now has the same voice as the one in ME3, which was a really nice touch, even drack or drak with its voice reminded me of wrex, but much more of grunt idk why.
The salarian is pretty much the same, with the eye redesigned which was the first thing that I saw from the previous ones in ME trilogy.
The new species, I don't know wtf to say. The keth feels wrong and looks wrong.. Damm.. Looks like they came out of a black hole but the other one i do like it (the ones fighting the keth as well) and they reminded me of the protean, with less 2 eyes. Interesting to see the game play with them.
I played it all day long, and I'm making some space to actually love this ONE, and overlooking the minor differences it may be a good game after all.
BTW, THE MUSIC IS REALLY GOOD, REALLY GOOD. love this one very much. Something reminds me of me 1,2,3. See you guys around.

@@bossshun9 finally someone says it. The actual fighting in this game were amazing. Loved how they changed the class system so that you can freely swap your abilities, the coversystem were great like in 3s game play and the jetpack added at lot of movement. Personally I loved it. Mechanically it was my favorite 3rd person shooter. The multiplayer could've been great if they would have kept it fresh like they did with 3s multiplayer.

I think gaming history will gradually become fonder towards Andromeda. As nontroversies like flawed walking animations and rushed facial expressions are as forgotten as the death and rape threats tweeted and mailed at the female devs (because "feminism was ruining Mass Effect") gradually Andromeda will be seen as flawed but ambitious, as having as much heart and love and artistic seriousness as the original trilogy.
Gradually as the sulky Incel obsession with "everything is shit" becomes as forgotten as Bronies the soul-deep appeal of bolding striking out towards unknown stars with hope and courage that Andromeda expresses will thought of with warmth long outlasting "EA ruins everything."

This is a very well worded sentiment that I've had but have had a hard time describing. Thank you. I agree wholeheartedly... I have been holding off on doing a full sweep revisit to the franchise (last time was right before Andromeda launched) because I keep hearing rumors of the Mass Effect remastered trilogy coming out. I want to go back then knowing what I know now and truly appreciate how wonderfully ambitious the Andromeda project was.

I had a feeling alot of the hate was because of what you describe here.
However, I did play some hours, and I couldn't even for all my enthusiasm get into this one. Perhaps I wasn't patient enough or not in mood for games. Now I'd just rather not try again because the franchise was cut short and I'd hate to get embittered enjoying a "dead game" because it fell prey to the cultural erosion that is the angsty incel horde, alt. hate-because-its-trendy-to crowd.
I fear that their obssession is far from over. Hopefully, future generations wont know what the fuck we're talking about.
Internet sure has had a way of uniting these assholes and merging them into one big fat all consuming black hole.

it really doesn't have as much heart or love put into it though. I am not seeing that whatsoever. I'm seeing padding and laziness (except graphically and musically -- those teams did well) but from a gameplay and writing perspective it's lazy and shallow as fuck.

If the steam reviews are anything to go by, this is entirely true and i believe it whole heartedly. I loved the game at launch, i loved it even more after the patches were implemented, and then, when it was rereleased onto steam last year... it was getting better overall scores than Mass Effect 3. It is truly a diamond in the rough. I 100% accept the flaws of the game, and the management and game direction problems at bioware that caused the problems that exist, but underneath the facial animations, there is a game that BEATS with the heart and soul of mass effect. I consider it a love letter to ME 1; bigger, grander, and holding that incredible feeling of just DISCOVERING planets again. It was magical. Yes, it was a bit barren, and yes, the quests had a lot of fetching, but post game, there was nothing more exciting than finding a secret vault I had missed, going down under the crust of the planet, and finding *secrets* nobody had seen before, or a lost comrade who had fallen in and gotten lost, or a new bit of lore. I enjoyed the sudoku puzzle immensely, even if it took a bit of time.
I loved the characters, and the feeling of being greener than Shepard. It was all 'new beginnings' and it was also a statement of the game itself in the story, it was almost META in a way. People wanted this game to be INCREDIBLE, GRAND, they were 'sold this idea' and then when it came, it was nothing but at all like the ads. But the ones who stayed, made something, and made the literal best of a bad situation. I love the game. It's poetic, its self aware, its HOPEFUL in as much as its tired. And people are starting to appreciate that! They are looking past the launch bugs and looking at the whole picture, the wonderful characters, the story to be told. I mourn the loss of the studio and the DLC for this game. I curse Anthem, even on its grave, that it killed Andromeda for a fruitless, stale project that was over before it began. I will forever be MAD at bioware for killing a game in a beloved franchise for a live service corporate flop. Legendary Edition and Dragon Age 4 not having live service brings me hope, but the stain of how the company treated Andromeda will never be washed out of my memory.

The game is a good game with a nice story. I think the game only got the hate due to the graphics. I think if EA just got a squad together and upgraded the animation features further and graphical overhaul a bit more on the face, gave it a public update on social media with patch notes I think people would give it another shot.

Behold, the game that never was. The promise never kept and the hope that died screaming in the dark. Andromeda was a chance for a backup studio to become a force for greatness, a chance for the Mass Effect franchise to rise up and claim a glorious new future. Instead it settled back into the muck that spawned it, undercut by budget diversions, stripping of talent for another project and political grandstanding at the cost of the project itself.

Sadly this video I planned to turn on sub notifications but didn't :/ I've been kickin' my ass all day thinking about it.
I know I take a large hit in daily views and perhaps it holds my channels growth back a bit by not having subscriber notifications turned on. I upload a lot (a video per day at least) and to be honest even now I am limited to how much I can do currently due to my terrible internet and my mediocre PC. It can take me 15 hours to upload a video and 3-7 hours for rendering and encoding, editing and finding the locations in-game can take an entire day combined. Whenever I am able to upgrade my internet and PC I plan to do much more and I'd hate to spam peoples subscriber feeds.
I kind of leave it up to you all that subscribe to check back for newer videos considering the amount I upload. I may change that to a once a week thing now that I see several people asking for it, but I may binge on another game half my subscribers don't care for, and seeing it in their feed once or twice a day may get a bit annoying? I don't know. I should be desperate for views right now, I have to move at the beginning of January, so the extra views would help out a lot lol... but I can't act like that, or act greedy. I'm not that kind of person.
From my old CZcams channel to this one.. I swear I have the best subscribers :) Thank you all!
