    For some reason, this music makes me keenly aware of one thing that saddens me. Our period in history has been one of rapid advancement, but we’re caught in the middle - too late to explore the world, and too soon to explore the galaxy. I’m hopeful that one day, our descendants will explore the far corners of the galaxy, and see breathtaking wonders like you do when exploring Heleus, but they’ll be the real thing and not just computer generated imagery.

      I played it first time on 2020. I platinumed it. I can say that after 4 years of it, the game is decent, and has possibilities for a sequel. However, the progression and the story building felt rushed around the half of the game, like you even can predict things, and most of them were a copy of the former trilogy.
      The squad itself is good, but remember it isnt a military project , so it is ok if we dont have synergy or sympathy with most of the squad members.

    It's quite poetic, bioware tried something new and went down a new path with hope by making andromeda just as the andromeda initiative took off to explore something new with hope. Didn't turn out exactly as planned for either but you know what, that's OK. We are allowed to fail, we're human. P. One thing you can trust AAA games with, is having some solid music, and ME:A was no exception. Personally, I just wish they had made the technology of the other Andromeda species more alien. This galaxy didn't have the reapers guiding their technologic path. We could have seen more energy weapons and the like. I mean, sure there was the stand in for the Prothean style extinct forerunners, and that was cool, but the still living species could have been more unique.

  • @hellomoonieTV
    @hellomoonieTV Před rokem +1

    Absolutely in love with this theme. As soon as I heard this, the moment the game gave the opportunity to explore the galaxy, I knew I was in for an adventure, and I felt that tinge of missing ME 1-3 but I was excited and nervous and happy to be exploring again, as when playing games exploration is the 1 thing I absolutely love.
    Reading the comments, and while I totally understand where people are coming from with their feelings on the game, IMHO the only thing to nitpick about ME:A at this point are the technical issues that come with it --- bugs, glitches, weird facial expressions if you think those count --- as years later they are things that people still deal with. Hell, I wrestled with game stability for a while as I had to tune my VRAM lower and up my fan speed and turn off the DLC's (I play on PC) but overall I absolutely ENJOYED the hell out of the game. I enjoyed it because I treated it as its own thing, rather than keep comparing it to ME 1-3. It's a new story in a new galaxy yet still within the ME universe. I knew that if I kept comparing it then I'd be miserable as hell --- but honestly, for as much as I miss my Shepard, I needed a new adventure. I wanted to see the potential of this game too.
    I fell in love the moment the game allowed you to check out systems and explore them. I loved staying in the galaxy map because of the music and they absolutely nailed the spaceflight in there (it always reminded me of Elite: Dangerous, i love that game so much.) Environments were gorgeous, albeit I didn't like colliding with little things like pebbles and rocks (an issue I had with Inquisition (Frostbite wasn't so good for that game tbh, then again it was their first time to use it for that). Architecture was stunning. Designs for people were alright, but could do better, and I do think they are getting there. (I know it was a different team or "B team" working on ME:A so their design choices are slightly different, but they've got potential as a team all the same!)
    Story was compelling. They took what could have been from ME 1-3 (dark energy plot) and turned it into The Scourge, and made something out of it for a new galaxy. We needed that; new adventure after all. We were given the big bad (the kett), and we had an ancient civilization, and plot twists throughout sidequests and how they related to the main story. I absolutely ADORE the Angara, they remind me of my culture; I love how open they are and how they wear their hearts on their sleeve. Characters were great, Companion banter was funny and enjoyable especially while on the road; companions themselves felt realistic, for me at least, especially when dealing with internal crises and their thoughts on he bigger picture.
    I played the game without a guide, 100% scanned every planet, 100%'d viability every area, did every sidequest, read every datapad I could find, did my best to talk to every NPC just to see if there was anything relatable to ME 1-3... and you know what? I was NOT disappointed. I loved the callbacks. And... man oh man are you in for a SURPRISE when you complete one of the major sidequests for Ryder.
    I rambled! Sorry. It's just that I fell in love with this game! 😂I know some people call the writing for ME:A ✌🏻"mediocre"✌🏻at best, but honestly?.. Just remember it's not the main team for ME 1-3 that worked on this ---it was another, and they really really really tried. My best advice for people is to just jump in and try to enjoy the game on its own and immerse yourself in it; stop nitpicking and comparing it to the main games. It's a new adventure for you in a different galaxy, yet in the same universe as the main games. I know you miss your Shepard, but give ME:A a try. There are many compelling points in the story and sidequests and this game REALLY had potential with its plot hooks.
    I finished the game recently and OMG I still have brainworms over all the info acquired post-game. Time to miss ME:A again and sit here dreaming of exploring new planets and clusters and new worlds while listening to this more... .🌃

I came back this year and played the campaign and it was excellent, so good I've done 2 more play throughs since. The main problem I had originally was I didn't like any of the squad mates like in the other ME games, so I just started looking at them as work colleagues instead and focused more on the story, my build, the exploration and the crafting.

    I think one main reason I didn't like Andromeda that much, was the lack of music. I loved the Galaxy Map Theme from the beginning and had high hopes for the rest of the game. Sadly I can barely remember a handful of tracks. A good soundtrack adds so much to the atmosphere of a game and Andromeda mostly failed that point.

      @Mira Meirelle I'm fine as long as there is any ambience. But I had the feeling that Andromeda had literally nothing. Neither music nor any sounds. I remember cruising on Elaaden and I couldn't hear anything but the Nomad. For me, that made the world feel even emptier. Something like that might fit with a Simulation, but not with a Fantasy-/Sci-Fi-RPG.

    • @exception05
      @exception05 Před 5 lety +6

      ME: Andromeda has just a bad plot. Rider is not the person that you want to be. It's not attracting as Shepard. Shepard character gives you the feeling that you actually do something WITH Shepard and he/she gives you opportunity to say what you want. You and Shepard are playing together (cause only if get together we can stop Reapers). Rider doesn't create that feeling, because dialogs are built in such way that you don't want to express or the game just don't care about what you wanna do. There is not to much you can do. No interesting side missions, discovers at all. Also original Mass Effect takes the plot very seriously. If we watch all modern movies, games they are making fun of sci-fi, it's pretty different from making fun IN the sci-fi (the original ME trilogy has cute sense of humor, that doesn't disturbes you). The examples: the last Alien, Terminator and Predators. In 80s it was a movies in genre thriller, horror and action. Now it's like cheap comedy/family movies. It's the trend to sell some shit to the whole world because you can put less money in the production and get more money. In the past many media production companies oriented to taste of US people which works good for me, even if I'm not from USA.
      I like the battles in ME:A, mechanics. It's nice. Shaders are good. Not to mention bad face animation. But what I like in old trilogy is a big field of view and adaptation for it of each element. It feels that game is "closer" to you. Some people dislike it, but I think it's super awesome. In the original ME I like the battles in each, but for different reasons, but it's probably best in the ME 2. I like a huge spectre of armor and weapons in the first ME and shooting difficulty of the third ME. If it was combined...... ME:A is definitely better in shooting than all three games. IMHO
      George Lucas said that the sound is a half of the movie, but that's all that I can say and that's the problem: market researches see that not so many words about music in their research and they decided to cut the budget for music, cause they think that if people can't tell something important about music, then it's not so important... What can I say about the Galaxy Music? Imagine that my feeling are exactly the same - I felt the hope, that ME:A will not suck if has such music. Coincidence? I don't think so.

    About to change my mind on Andromeda, after playthrough it 3 times alrady.
    Some feedback i like to share.
    - Music is immersive deep dark ambient give so much atmosphere for exploration.
    - Combat
    - Customization, specialization and research with no boundary's.
    - The idea of entire race can create life in not livable cluster of galaxy that twice size bigger then Milky Way - not like original ME -where evolution was a tool and trapped in mistake of malfunctioning AI leading to disaster and genocide.
    - Nomad APC
    - Graphics, but i guess it can be better and more modding capable if it uses Unreal Engine 4 instead, as original series
    - Jardaan\Remnant\Scourge exploration - there is some mystery in air about it...
    - Planet exploration, viability, fixing atmosphere
    And most important - you are not super solder running around galaxy and killing everything that has more than 2 legs.
    You are nerdy explorer, who seek a new home and beginning, and discovering that entire mission was to conserve civilization in new galaxy, away from Reapers threat
    Game has potential, but its a pity that it was abandoned and unfinished(Quarrian ark, continuation of story, expansion further in galaxy, etc) and bashed by fans due to many bugs, that were fixed eventually with patch.
    People just judge this book by its cover, because of overhype and emotions.
    Considering how many crap today- ME Andromeda is a good place to return to.
    In hope next Mass Effect will connect this story's somehow (as trailer show us) and Mass Effect journey will continue....

    I am playing through Andromeda right now, right off the back of playing MELE for the maybe 4th time. I have to play all 4 games when I pick ME1 up. This theme saddens me so much. Andromeda doesn't have Shepard and that's ok! Ryder is new, he is an explorer and the music in the game I think perfectly sums up exploration and wonder at a new galaxy, one that has not been trodden by Humans, Turians, Asari, Salarians etc. I hated Andromeda when it first came out but I took another chance. Are there flaws? Yes, ofcourse there are between massive chunks of shocking writing and quest lines that take forever and don't seem to go anywhere. However, there are glimpses of brilliance at what Andromeda should have been. I do like the game, setting, music, companions and romances and I love Ryder, he is young, inexperienced, thrown into this massive galaxy that is uncharted. He is not an N7. He is not a battle hardened soldier. And that is good.
