Rebuilding a clear title 2013 Buick Enclave after it was totaled by an insurance company

  • It is time to start another rebuild project... actually finish it. Someone else has already started on this 2013 Buick Enclave AWD. It has low miles, lots of options and a clear title so it should find a home quickly when it is done. Let's take a look at it and get a little bit of work done.

It’s really cool to watch someone reverse the impact scenario and see the pressure points relieve themselves. A true sign of a good body man. Spent some years around a heavy collision shop. Waiting for the next installment.

This is going to be another interesting build. A low mileage vehicle like this will be a great option for someone looking for reliable transportation at an affordable price. You're not only going to keep it out of the scrap pile but also going to help someone get solid transportation.

That Enclave would have had a Parts Title (Statutory Write-off) here in Australia and gone to the junk yard. So many repairable vehicles are written off over here for even less damage than the Enclave. Good to see this one being repaired. It will be interesting seeing the progress. All the best from Queensland Australia.

Of course the finest scrap yard replacement parts 🙄. I remember the rule being, bondo couldn't exceed 7/8" in thickness. I'm sure they made a fortune. But I never did. In 1966 I was driving my 59 Impala Bubbletop and T-boned a 60 Olds. Both of us were going to fast for the circumstances, but she ran a yield sign. After the accident the front end of my car was turned to the right. I saw another 59 a week or 2 later that had been t-boned. So the front clip and frame were fine (both cars had an X Frame. I bought it and swapped my body to that frame. IN order to take it apart, I had to use the can opener as most of the. bolts were inaccessible. I was 16 then and not wearing a seat belt. I estimate I was doing between 50 and 60 when I hit. Surprisingly I didn't contact the steering wheel. I'm a believer that at times one can have super human strength. I pushed the gearshift all the way to the dash. Interestingly, to this date, I have. no memory of the accident. I can tell you everything up to the point prior to collision and after I regained consciousness. I can even smell the bakery I drove by when I think about it.

I'm an A&P mechanic which is an airplane mechanic. When I'm taking of an exhaust stack or alternator we use plastic baggies and then note on the baggies the part & location of the hardware. It's required that we do it that way so we know where the fasteners had gone to and its location. Side note....... All the airplanes that I worked on general aviation aircraft like you're Cessna and Mooney, Piper the alternators that go on the aircraft are all AC DELCO but like Aerotech slaps their sticker on the alternator and charge triple the regular cost. It's all got to do with LIABILITY!!!

It's so refreshing seeing you troll people with Bauer tools.... LOL - I have them, they work fine for home use.

Excuse me sir, that’s not foam, it’s QuietTuning™ - a GM executive (probably)

Aye these things get a bad rep but we got a 2011 traverse with 180k still on the original timing chains, water pump just now went out lol, if you change the oil or get it changed, use full synthetic and recommend it so hopefully the next owner catches on.

My 2 week old Acura MDX was hit in al most the same manner in January 2020. Wheel was trashed, Taillight survived. New qaurter panel, and rear bumper. Body work and paint were good. I am an ex body man. Detail was not close to acceptable. Title was clean, an carfax read "damaged". It is long gone.
Mine was not hit hard enough to damage the inner structure. Estimate was $4500.

Maybe we could start a "go fund me" for the purchase of plastic clips.

SWEET!!! I forgot today was (not) boring build Friday!!! Vacation means I can watch right now!
I have seen some "clear title" vehicles that should have been listed as rebuilt with all the work that went into putting her back together.
So, when is the next Sierra/Silverado 2500hd coming for rebuild? LOL. Awesome job as always!! Have a great weekend!

I’ve seen junk titles that needed a tail light. And balled up messes with a clear title but the experts seem to think they know it all! 😂 Have a great weekend as well!
