Pro tip: set your Velona to turret mode, then get on it and whistle a few Dinos set to neutral to follow the velona. As soon as it gets attacked, the followers swarm the attacker, then they return when they lose aggro - this way you can keep Dinos on neutral without people kiting them away. I figured this out like a month ago and it works great. Also works to have neutral Dinos follow a passive one, but a turret mode velona is better. I like to have a Velona set to turret mode with 3-5 dimorphodons following it, so attackers both get swarmed by Dimos and shot by the Velona, then the surviving Dimos return.

I had a velonasaur like three hours ago, it died in the saddest way possible in the lava cave. I fought my way through to the end of the cave, grabbed the artifact of the massive and went to leave, completely whiffed it on the first jump out and died in lava right next to the artifact platform

I have seen a few of your tutorials /info posts and I have seen you use that. I am interested in playing around in creative but I don't know where to start. I have been reading the WiKi and see the console commands to spawn tamed and untamed dinos. Do you have more tutorials on using the creative mode?

We did it with a yuti 2 velo and a bunch of allo's yesterday, the first time we got it to about 30% hp and the Manticore all of a sudden disappeared while in the air. Talons got farmed and another bossfight started shortly after. While I was on the velo the yuti came from behind glitching me into his body and I got meshkilled, tribe finished the job tho, I sadly miss the engrams now..But to answer your question, you can "use them" yeah, but we mainly did that for when the Manticore is flying, I wouldn't wanna be there with just velos.

Probably obvious but worth mentioning that they shred normal rock golem and stone golems too. Saves you from the rocket launcher ammo grind.

They are amazing base defense!!!!!! Unless the enemy has a compound bow... or crossbow or anything that can shoot farther than melee range.

I wish when their on aggressive they would stay still and shoot instead of chasing the player

Melee does matter, only to a certain point. It caps at 20 on turret
I've been thinking about trying to encumber them and just leave them on aggressive and attack range on high, and see if it makes a difference.
