Fun fact: Jason Mamoa asked the singer of technical death metal band Archspire to help him with this. The end of this warcry is based on their song "Calamus Will Animate"
Giving my two cents here as a native hawaiian and native arawaken, what you're seeing here is a tribal culture blend. He performs the moali haka here and there, but the way that hes chanting is actually called flyting and that comes from Scandinavian tribes what we now call the Vikings, whereas we all know the whistles come from the Aztec culture.
Its actually how he landed Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones. His Audition real is him doing a haka for 3 minutes. It apparently scared the casting director enough to give him the role.
Fun Fact: The reason Jason does the kind of triplet rap towards the end is actually inspired by his favorite band Archspire. They're this relatively big tech death band in the metal scene and the lead singer uses the harsh metal vocals but says them very quickly. Jason actually invited the lead singer to his suite in Canada to hash out the actual script from this show to (sort of) match the intro of one of their songs called 'Calamus Will Animate'. SUPER cool shit.
It totally does sound like "Calamus Will Animate" - I've always loved Jason, and I've been a fan of Archspire for a long time, but I had somehow missed that this was ever a thing, which is just fantastic.
The bald guy screaming into the horn is Oliver Aleron, vocalist for tech-death band Archspire. He is the one who taught Jason how to rap/scream like that
That would be the most manly cast ever. Every single male in the entire world would basically grow facial hair from the pure waves of testosterone coming from the screen 👁️👄👁️

It is absolutely evident from scenes like these that Momoa not only believes in and cherishes the mana, he HAS it. If you think about it, of all the "manly" actors (Hemsworth, Bruce Willis ETC, all the "manly" archetypes I mean here) Jason Momoa is the only one who can display an equally wise and feral chieftain.
