1991 seems like a lifetime ago to me. I miss those times.
I can't believe its been 30 years.. Seems like only yesterday to me.
These were very special times.
My oldest daughter was born this year. I had to grow up in a helluva hurry. I was 19.
She's 30 now, married to an Air Force vet, and she has a handsome 8 year old son of her own. 😊
Ur a great dad!
I had just turned 20 and my oldest daughter was also born 1991. Shocking how fast 30 and 50 showed up.
Nice work gramps💪❤️
I was born this year the year 1991
I was born in 1957, I remember just about everything about 1991. I was 34 years old, and it was my 6th year working at Kmart, back in the S.S.Kresge Company and Kmart Corporation Era.
So cool to see. I was 10 years old then. My dad was still alive. My friends were still around. And I thought it would never end. Some of the best years of my life. I miss those days so bad. Thank you for a look back....
Try to make make every year the best year of your life.
I was 11 myself. Such a great decade
I was 10 as well . . One of the best decades for sure
Feel ya man. I was 14/15 years old back then
I miss these days too man. I hear you. Take a look at some baseball or sports cards. It’s like a Time Machine.
I was 21 years old. This was the beginning of the best decade of my life. Thanks RR for doing this!!
Great decade for me too.I was 20.Miss it .Makes me wanna cry sometimes
@@thegamerandadventurer2384 Yep same here.....
Same. I was turned 21 in 1991 I miss 90s so much,
I was 12 in 1991. Junior high, high school and most of college was in the 90’s for me. What a great time to be young and alive. Seems like a million years ago and I just turned 45 but this video made me feel 90.
1991, I was 29, dreading 30. I lost my Daddy that year too 😩😭😭 I don’t remember much of the early 90’s.
I know exactly how you feel, I lost mine too that year and nothing has been right ever since then. I mean I've been able to function and live, but deep in your heart and soul you know that it's the end of life as you know it?
Sorry for your loss🙏🥲😇
I'm sorry. Sending hugs ❤
Doesn't seem like that long ago does it. Thanks for sharing memoirs of our lives and time. Outstanding job sir.
I know 22 years.
@@williamfindspeople4341 not that long ago but yet a great time at time
Married in June of 1991. Still married.
Also in 1991…

Yes! ❤
These flashback videos are great.
I met my best friend in 1991, then lost her 3 years later. The 90's were a bittersweet decade for me.
I was a freshman in High School watching the Gulf War in class. A lot of the major events that year we watched in front on the TV after dinner before bed (6-8pm). By Xmas we got a Commodore 64 & went on the internet using a dial up modem attached to our rotary dial telephone in the dinning room. Internet back then isn’t what it is today. Times sure have changed.
I was a freshman as well brother! I remember all those events. Truly enjoyed the 90’s.
Class of '94 here. I had a paper route and remember delivering newspapers that had a headline about the Gulf War ending. I was thinking wow I am delivering history!
Class of 2011 here hoe.
I remember early 1991, people sorta still dressed in a muted 80s way, not extreme 80s like 1985 Miami Vice or something, but it was still low key late 80s. By the fall of 1991, you could really see 90s fashion emerge with all the flannel.
Also in 1991:
-"Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" premieres on PBS.
-Duke beats Kansas in the 1991 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship in Indianapolis.
-"Street Fighter II" was released in Arcades.
-Michigan's "Fab Five" played their first game, a 100-74 victory over Detroit Mercy.
-Boris Yeltsin is elected president of Russia.
-Mike Tyson is arrested and charged with the rape of a Miss Black America.
-The WLAF (World League of American Football, later NFL Europe) was born.
-Apartheid ended in South Africa.
-Ukraine decriminalizes homosexuality.
-"Dinosaurs", "Sisters", "Herman's Head", "Home Improvement", "Step By Step", "The Commish", "The Torkelsons" (later "Almost Home"), and "Nurses" premiered on network television.
-"Darkwing Duck" premiered on both ABC and Syndication.
Yes I remember that.

OMG, 'Dinosaurs' sitcom - recommend watching old episodes on CZcams, you'll be surprised at how much the writers got away with re current social commentary :)
I graduated high school in 91 & thanks for sharing👌
20 years later I graduated class of 2011.
I was the class of 1990 🎉
I was only two years old in 1991, I had my first video game experience thanks to my older brother, who owned the SNES at the time. My first was Super Mario World. Oh how I cherish those memories of trying it out and having fun.
I ended my Junior year in May of 91 and looking forward to my Senior year. Sept 91.. I began my Senior year and every morning I would watch MTV just before school. This song kept playing on rotation every morning about 730am. By the 3rd day of seeing this video, I went to school that morning and was sitting in the lobby before school with my friends and said, "have you guys seen this video on MTV by a group called Nirvana...Smells like teen Spirit"? By the end of 91 I knew the 90s were going to rock!
I was 14 in 91 and I still have an original Sega Genesis in box.
I was 15 in 1991. It was pretty cool from my recollection. When grunge was cool.
They say that some days (and weeks), seem to finish at a snails pace…but the years flyby very quickly! That’s very true, because it seems like yesterday that all the things from 1991 took place! 9/11 is still 10yrs away from this time period, and that too seems like yesterday 😱😳
Started my senior year of high school that fall. Plaid was EVERYWHERE as grunge took over.
Been waiting so long for this episode. I was born in 1991 :)
I was born in 1941.The sixties were great.Everyone tells me that i had a good time.😂😂😂
I was 7 and remember Nick toons when it started. My grandparents wouldn't let us watch Ren and Stimpy but we found ways.
Funny how EVERY generation says the same things as they get older. We ALL want to go back. For me I grew up in the 50's and 60's so I really miss the mid to late 70's as an adult. Whether it's the music, the clothes, or the hair styles, each generation makes fun of the ones before theirs. It called getting old !!!!!
We only wore masks on Halloween. I don't think this generation will have much to reminisce about.
I think what most folks actually miss is the age they were in whatever year, to some degree. Going back and being a 51 year old in 1991 would not be the same as going back and being 21 again. A 5 year old doe snot look at the world the same way as an adult, we have different stresses at different ages. Not to mention we have different personal circumstances that put a bias on whatever time period.
Nobody can really objectively say what decade was better. The 70's was great for me because I was a kid and had little to no stress. The 80's kinds sucked, because I was a teen, teens don't seem to like much. The 90's was great probably because I was in my 20's, and finally an adult, able to make my own decisions. The 00's sucked because my career path tanked, and the 10's have been worse. Life just didn't turn out as good as I though it would, now it's too late.
getting old sucks.
Nah. 2010-2020 generation also wants 2000 and 1990's lol although 2010 was also great
Thank you for sharing this, great job!!
Another great look back. The following year my daughter would be born!
I was born this year in August. Very surreal reading everyone else's struggles.
I'm in my 30's now. Things are so tough. I have yet to lose my parents. I know it'll happen. As I grow older, and if I am fortunate enough to live to see my 70's, I will understand what it is like to be a relic. Most will not know what life was like before the 21st century.
It's a sobering thought.
I was in eighth grade when the Persian Gulf War happened, and a freshman by the time the year ended.
I don't know if it would be considered important, but on June 9th that year (which was my mom's 42nd birthday), I believe it was three people died at King's Island in Cincinnati. One person fell in the pool at the Oktoberfest pavilion, and two more people were electrocuted trying to get the third person out--a security guard died, and on top of all that, a woman from Toledo was not properly restrained on the Flight Commanded ride (and in addition, the woman was also drunk) and fell to her death when her car on the ride flipped over.
Joined the navy in 1991. Stationed for 9 years on Whidbey Island Washington State. Loved it and the grunge music.
Awesome! And thank u for ur Service!
@@ninalove3044 you're welcome but i didnt serve the common American the military protects its elite not common interests of the people.
How could you leave out Nov 24th?? We lost Freddie Mercury..the greatest front man in rock history! Rest In Paradise beautiful Freddie ♥️👑🎤🎹♥️
The music you add to these videos make it so much better, thank you!
I can’t believe how chill those times were. Nirvana and grunge was king in 91and I was in college.
And on March 2 of that year, I was born in Ventura California! I did not know like 90 percent of these events… thanks for the informative video !
I remember the Gulf war. My brother was in army and went to Saudi and into Iraq. He was in the 101st Airborne

Let me just say I love reading the comments! I feel so young writing that in may of 91 I was born. Being 32 I miss the simplistic lifestyle being raised in the 90s. I wish I could go back and do it again. Thank you all for sharing your story!
The eldest of my two brothers was born this year,
as was Mitchell Musso, Kyle Massey, AzzyLand, susu jpg, Brian Hull, iambrandonfarris and Louy Fierce.
Also the year Freddie Mercury of Queen, Natalie Schaffer, Eleanor Audley, Nancy Kulp and Fred McMurray died (RIP).
Also in 1991:
LA Story starring Steve Martin, Marilu Henner and Victoria Tennant came out on February 8.
The children's game show Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? premiered on PBS on September 30.
The PBS Kids show Lamb Chop's Play-Along also debuted this year, but I forgot what airdate.
Lamb Chop's Play-Along premiered in January of 1992.
@@zymaymyn oh.
The year I graduated high school and turned 18. It feels like every thing happened 5 years ago...
I was only 9 and some of these events I remember clear as day. Time goes by so fast!
Another great video from the site and great content and photos on every vlog released on the channel!
I was 19 and gave birth to my firstborn in July. He's now 30, an Army vet and married with 4 kiddos.
1991 was a good year for me. Wish I could go back. ☺
I was 33, recalled to active duty just before Christmas, 1990 and deployed in January, 1991 for operation Desert Storm. Lots of excitement that year.
I was a junior in HS in 91 and remember this stuff like it happened yesterday. Time flies.
0:28 I ended the Junior year. At 19 I Began my Senior year in the fall, with Nirvana! This year was when Nevermind album and Kurt Cobain unleash ALL alternative music to the masses. Soon many would find other music out there, other than pop. Thanks Kurt♥
1991 - 2001 great times, probably the BEST in my life (I was born in the 60's) But I was so busy PERSONALLY that I missed out on a LOT of the 1990s. Yinz '90s kids are gonna be OK, because it was an AWESOME decade.
born in 66, and I feel the same way. The music, the spirituality, the technology, the silver jewelry, the hairstyles, the car styles, the drugs, body piercings, the parties. Sigh 😔. The best of times, particularly the mid-to-late 90s. My God.

So 1991 for me was spent at sea for 9 months plus.
Did divorce the first wife that year. So it wasn't all bad.
My son was born this year. He turned 31 today. It's hard to wrap my mind around how long ago 1991 was, but it doesn't actually feel that long ago.

That's MY Birth Year!!!
Mid placed ads are the worst.
Solidarność, Fall of the Berlin Wall, Ceausescu’s execution, the Velvet Revolution, the end of the USSR, it was an amazing time to live through. I went to Berlin West and East in ‘83, and again in ‘88, and a trip through Eastern Europe in 1992. I still feel privileged to have seen it all, before and after.
first part of 1991 I was a Junior in high school , 16 years old , my grandpa Boyett died on New Years day , hell of a way to start a year , Remember watching Superbowl XXV Buffalo Bills vs the New York Giants , of course New York came out on top , didn't get to watch the halftime show cause they showed the news About the Gulf War, & that June had my last Summer before my Senior year of High School I turned 17 in September & November I got my first job working at Burger King making $ 4.25 an hour mmm big money back then , & also I had a very dear teacher from the 5th grade died that June from Colon cancer
Turned 28 that year, was also in Desert Storm!!! Then later in the year, back to Korea!!!
1991 was great for me cause I escaped so cal and my first child was going on 1 yr old. 3 more after and I'm blessed to have experienced cali in its last great days. Now its SHIT.
One of my top three best years of my life.
I can't help but think, humans will never change.
Hey... Lollapalooa happened in 1991. It's also the year Garth Brooks became a superstar.
In September of 1991, Paul Reubens (as Pee-Wee Herman) made a comeback at the 1991 MTV Video Awards Ceremonies in Universal City, California. Two months later on November the twenty-fourth of the very same year, Kiss's very own foxy little drummer boy Eric Carr died of a brain hemorrhage due to a cancerous heart. He also lost his beautiful long hair due to chemotherapy treatments. Mr. Carr was also the audience member at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards Ceremonies. He was also replaced by Cleveland, Ohio-born Eric Singer.
Wow I was 12 in 91😲
I would go back to my 40s which was in the 90s in a heartbeat. No health problems of cancer, no being broke on a fixed income, great job lots of money. Please give me a Wayback Machine PLEASE!
Graduated HS , 91. I wished it was 81 . Hated the 90's. PC bullshit
I was only 3 by December of ‘91 so not like I can recall, but as far as pop culture goes with American music and movies it looks to have been an incredible time to be alive.
Was ages 10 and 11 at the time . Lived on a desert military base in california at the time, last year i got to go trick or treating, my grandma died as well, saw my best friends oldest sisters boobs at the time when she flashed me , i remember the teenagers on base were into Nirvana and Hip Hop, a pack of bic mechanical pencils was $0.50, soda was around 25 cents for a can and 75 cents for a bottle, no social media to worry about, we watched married with children, cops, and americas most wanted every weekend as a family and usually rented a movie from the shopette to watch on the vcr
I was 26. Good times lol😅
I will never forget that year.
The year I was born.
1991 a year of promise and hopefulness for me… I was always late to the party and news😓😭
Also in 1991...
